Barton will be a linebacker next year, as well as Stewart
I do not see Barton playing linebacker.. Seay for sure,  Mayfield or Stewart could be the other.
Agree, about Barton not moving to LB.  Barton is in the backfield next season again. I think someone who is not in the know, may get his work at LB (at practice), just as backup this season for playoffs confused. Barton scored his first td last night.....one of the many ahead.  Great kid!!!!
Well, I personally know both of them, and Barton likes playing linebacker (backup right now) and Seay likes to play that safety/lineback hybrid
You may know them, but I do not think you where the stregths are.
I've been on both of there teams, there both just fine where they are, Barton may be a little undersized but hes fast smart and stops the run, and Seay is just good
Dont know if you remember a rb Ned had a few years....Genuardi... Barton runs, size is a lot like him. The back field next season is a coaches dream.  Hopkins is having a remarkable season.  Can't even believe we get him for another season. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) Defense is the Best we have EVER had.....we have had a lot of great individual players on D, but nothing as fast, strong, the size and smarts like we have now at every position on D.....
Barton will be a linebacker next year, as well as Stewart
As for Linebackers.... Mayfield plus JV players moving up,  several quick, good size, strong players who could fill in at LB I would see Tinsley would move into the LB group.  Tinsley is strong, fast, fast, nice size. (can't even count how many players he has cut across from opposite side of field and brought down from behind) Stewart, great size, hands, quickness, as well. Future is bright 8) 8) There will never be another Stampley and Wood at linebacker.  What a duo!!!!  All around defense is one of the Nederland's ALL-TIME greats!!!
 4. Agreed pirate 68... Mathews teaches Vidor solid D, as well. Love that the QB plays LB in Vidor.  Awesome! I do believe put the best players on the field.
 5. From what I hear, a lot of Lumberton's issues at football and other sports is maybe that off-season work and competition. When they are younger and do well against the other 20 4A middle schools.  They might not realize that those towns like Vidor, Nederland, and PN and Groves LC and Mauriceville are all broken up into separate teams.  Not sure about Beaumont schools.  I am not that familiar with their middle schools. Once all of those schools hit high school, they have not only a bigger talent pool but MORE competition for those starting spots when all of those kids come from separate schools.  Those kids knock themselves out working out, battling for each position.  Lumberton in football might not have the drive because those kids have been playing since at least 7th grade together and most spots are filled.  Part of the problem.  Also, not sure that you can fix that one middle school issue in Lumberton.  That's not the coaches fault.

I agree that this is one that PNG has a shot at...it will be interesting to see how Ozen reacts after getting beat badly last week
Everyone should just LOVE PNG,  we make everyone look awesome!
Ya know, I can honestly say I agree. However, I do think your freshman Qb will do fine in the next several years for Png.  You just need a solid running back and a couple of outstanding receivers to go with him. Also, need fundamentals on Defense and PNG can turn this around quickly starting as earlier as next season.  By the time that freshman Qb is a Senior, PNG could be back on top.
 7. Barton looks so good running.  He's so fast!!!  What a backfield.  Contreras, Dial and Hopkins, too. Love what the Dogs have.....and will have.    8) Dogs Defense is at another level this year.  Don't know if I have ever seen a more COMPLETE Nederland defense.  Wow!  These guys will be remembered for a long time.
 8.
Barton, dial, and contreras looked good in the backfield last night too
Add to that Hopkins back there again next year. And add to that two more solid, quick JV running backs....oh the places we will go.... 8) 8) 8) 8)
 9. Good points Brubaker. People (not just NED fans) on this board take their own opinion way too seriously (esp about coaches, players)....and those usually are the same "posters" who have something to critic a high school kid about.  I really don't understand these people.  I do know some of them and let me say, it's surprising what they will post/say on here.  MOST of the ones that I know, don't even have kids on a field of play.  Maybe that's why they act like their ALL-KNOWING.  With all that said, now let me say.... Great Job Dogs!  Way to go! 8)  8)  8)  8)  8)  8)

After that who knows... but Possibly more

What's the historical perspective of back to back undefeated district championships in SETX.  Dogs about to do it, just wondering where this puts them in relation to the WOS, Newton... etc dynasties of SETX.  Funny that not too long ago, everyone held the lack of a district championship over Neumann's head... now the guy hasn't lost in over 2 seasons and will win 2 straight. 15. prepballfan.... I manned up when NDNation called me out for Vidor poster saying "run up the score," to which I agreed in post last night. (I am sure there are not many PNG "posters" who like me when I stood up at beginning of season for their  OWN PNG QB.  I stated the obvious that their defense need the most attention (to which I was told by PNG "posters" that I didn't know what I was talking about).  The season is proof, QB (in question) put 50 points on Central to which the defense couldnt hold them to UNDER 50.) It seemed like a lot of belly aching about NED fans not liking/supporting PNG, ,quoting NDNation "the bulldogs fans on here never seem to root for us" If yall cant handle a little good humor, then maybe you should call bamakid.....youll have a lot to talk about. Good JOB VIDOR. 16. 20 4A and 19 4A are good playoff matchups and the winner of the game will be deserving.  I look for a tough game and hopefully little injuries on both sides. Go Dogs!
 17. WOS defense is excellent! Defenses make winning a championship a lot easier.  I hope WOS stays focused to that State Title.

I have no problems with PNG as Ned Fan.  I have tried to help the "posters" from PNG this season by pointing out that their misguided assaults on their OWN QB were unfounded/disrespectful and that they should focus on their needed improvements on Defense (which by now in district play, proves my point).  What's wrong with Vidor giving to PNG for a change.  We all know how many times (and I am sure one of you faithful will pull out stats and give us all a long history of this and that) you have done this to other teams, including Vidor. So how do paybacks feel?  Really, you don't like it?  Guess, neither does anyone else. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
 21.
Probably not as good as you think, when we played angleton we had 5 turnovers, i think two in vidor, at the beginning of the year (1st game-Vidor) we were a turnover prone team.
Stats don't win games.  Scoring one more point than your opponent.  Really that's all that matters.  Winning. 8)
 22. I think anyone getting "caught up" in polls doesnt really care about the ultimate goal - State champion.  Play football and stay focused. There is one winner in each division, each classification at the end of the year.  Everyone else ends their seasons losers.  So who cares if you are number 3 in whatever poll AP or DCTF. Polls give coaches an idea what is across the state of Texas.  Really getting caught up in it is useless. High school football is not the BCS and it will not help determine if/where we play in a bowl game. So IMO is useless.  I don't care about being ranked whatever number for whatever week. Of course, I am old school and believe a 4 team playoff representation of the district is watered down.  If you do something (like win a  district title), it should mean something. With all that said, Go Dogs!!!!! ps Vidor don't get caught up in this and just keep winning!
 23.
Big Ned outcoaches Ozen again.
Agreed. O line is so strong for Nederland.  One of the best groups on O line this year, added to a strong runner like Hopkins and a passer like Raines equals winning. 8)
 24.
Like both Burnett and Faircloth. Only problem I have ever had is that the new BF staff has been very cocky since they got here. Old school guy and would like respect shown to former coaches and current opposing coaches. Heard their staff say they were ten years ahead of any coach in this area when they got here. I guess time has caught up with them. Good luck both teams.  Every school goes through their ups and downs. RESPECT the game and everything will be fine.
Defense is not in the future (ten years ahead)?
