Game Summary....... Better team won. I can't stand Monday morning QBing......(as that's all we do on this board and little Thursday Qbing as well)......but in the end, "we just ran out of time," "we beat ourselves," "we kept shooting ourselves in the foot," "oh, the penalties is what hurt us," ALL translates into LOSING. THE final score is the best Qbing you'll ever do. Let it stand And no matter how many excuses you could make, take it like a man (or fan)- WIN or Lose.

However, here's TEXAS UIL exceptions to NCAA ] EXCEPTION: 3-2-4 and 3-3. Timing Rules contained NCAA 2005 Football Rule Book will be used for timing in UIL games. 32. 3-4-4. 10-Second Subtraction from Game Clock a. With the game clock running and less than one minute remaining in either half, if a player of either team commits a foul that causes the clock to stop, the officials may subtract 10 seconds from the game clock at the option of the offended team. The fouls that fall in this category include but are not limited to: 1. Any foul that prevents the snap (e.g., false start, encroachment, defensive offside by contact in the neutral zone, etc.); 2. Intentional grounding to stop the clock; 3. Incomplete illegal forward pass; 4. Backward pass thrown out of bounds to stop the clock; 5. Any other foul committed with the intent of stopping the clock. The offended team may accept the yardage penalty and decline the 10-second subtraction. If the yardage penalty is declined the 10-second subtraction is declined by rule. b. The 10-second rule does not apply if the game clock is not running when the foul occurs or if the foul does not cause the game clock to stop (e.g., illegal formation). c. After the penalty is administered, if there is a 10-second subtraction, the game clock starts on the referee’s signal. If there is no 10-second subtraction, the game clock starts on the snap. d. If the fouling team has a timeout remaining they may avoid the 10-second subtraction by using a timeout. In this case the game clock starts on the snap after the timeout.
First of all great game by my Stangs, early on it was playoff atmosphere which should help both teams down the road. I honestly don't understand the fan bashing, PN-G has some of the greatest fans around and very classed and played great hosts. Met a lot of nice people even at the JV game. Having seen Vidor, Ned (albeit both in scrimmages) and PN-G in game to be honest, i think PN-G will be looking at the third playoff spot. Ned, and Vidor both impressed me more, but it is early in season and injuries happen and players can develop so don't give up. One question for someone who might know. After the penalty down by the goal-line right before half ended I always thought the clock started on an offensive penalty after the ball was spotted?
PNG had come from a Timeout.

Also, honest..... I would NOT put Angleton in the same category as GCM or Crosby (no disrespect to either). Angleton is ranked in top of the state for a reason.....just a side note. -
Montana Quirante for both awards. He scored four rushing touchdowns and played middle linebacker allowing only 7 points in two games. Even Bobby Bouchet couldn't do that.
I'd give it to him too for either Offensive/Defensive Player. I'd give it to Shaw from Nederland as well for Offensive/Defensive Player. Take your pick on either. Both had outstanding games playing both Offensively/Defensively. Not any easy thing to do. Highly athletic and talented. -
Shaw is a game changer for Nederland. He scored 3 TD's, but the most impressive play of the night was when he closed 10 yards on the GCM qb on their TD before the end of the 1st half. How fast is that kid, 10 yards in that short of a field is pretty impressive.
I called it at beginning of season that Shaw and Kimbler (Both had beautiful picks last night) would be difference makers and have big years......Shaw impressed most when he closed in on that guy scoring for GCM....He flew out of nowhere and closed that yardage quickly. Wow, oh WOW!!!!! -

I will take the Dogs in this one....going against what I know of Angleton. But I am going on what I know of the Dogs. I will say this....THERE is a group of players on the Dogs that will be the Difference in this game and that is our (seldom mentioned) OFFENSIVE LINE. Those guys will be the reason that our offense outscores Angleton. It will a high scoring game and I know that it will be tough to go into their stadium and take one....but I am going with the Dogs, rain or shine. Go Dogs!
Hey 1987-What makes you think it will be high scoring? I ask, bc I know nothing about Angleton, and you seem to follow Ned football much closer than I. If I were to make a prediction, I would guess it would be low scoring based on Ned's D. But I can see how it may be different in your mind; is it bc Ned's D creates such great field position AND they score points directly with pick 6's (BTW very impressive. Ned didn't have a single pick 6 during the 3 years I played Varsity there)? Would guess that Angleton has speed based from their team last year, but so did Crosby And GCM. Our offense is more explosive this year, no doubt, but the nay Sayers claim it's bc the field position is so favorable. If Angleton can reduce turnovers and pin Ned's O deep with a good kicking game, Big Ned MAY struggle. If not, I say Ned wins by 2 scores. Even if we are stopped, Noel will get us at least '3'. Having said that: Nederland 23 (3FGs) Angleton 13
Agreed everyone is entitled to their opinion..... Angleton vs Bwood last night....broadcast ] Angleton ONLY needed 13 plays to produce 6 TDs. Nederland is explosive BOTH defensively and Offensively.....Our O line is doing a great job and I Look for those guys to be difference makers this week. Field position matters AND you win the game at the line of scrimmage....I look also for the BEEF to come in on certain plays on O this week. Go Dogs! -
Wow!!!!!! I am amazed on how much crap is being talked about png by png people (you other guys it doesnt bother me as much) I went home after the game and watched the game again the whole thing and let me tell you what I saw a bunch of pentalies and two turn overs and a few things that need to be worked on Yall act like Png is crap if you think about it we hacve the same record as last year right now so back off my indians they will get it together!!!!!!!!
I agree. Why were SOME of the fans on this board bashing QB SMITH???? And calling for his job. I defended him all week with little support from PNG fans. Smith did a fine job at QB, managing offense, nice passing, nice arm, very athletic. I see high points in Clark and Rose and another receiver (can't remember the other guys number). I think the defense needs a few adjustments and RB needs to keep his feet moving AFTER contact AND implement SMITH with the run also, not just on short yardage 3 downs. This would open up running game and passing as well. The NDNs can bring it together IF ALL of the Bashing of QB stops, (I heard this in the community from the NDN faithful as well as on this board). It just seems to me if the soph doesn't want to wait his turn and this has caused desension in the ranks. Where has it gone to being a TEAM player???? IMO, the kid needs to go back down to JV (where his size is suited better) and develop MORE. Good Luck to NDNs. We are looking for MCM!!!!
Angleton had their way with rival Brazoswood. Only ran 13 offensive plays in the FIRST HALF that resulted in 6 touchdowns. They led 41-14 at the half. Had 596 yards of total offense TJ Austin was 6 of 6 for 216 yards and 3 touchdowns. This will be the last cakewalk for Angleton with Nederland coming to town this Friday and they have to travel to take on a D1 loaded Alief Taylor squad. But have to worry about Nederland first.
Looks like someone forgot to TELL Brazoswood that it was Football season NOT Baseball Season!!!!! It will a tough one indeed between Nederland and Angleton! Looking forward to it!
the young kid last name clark my hats off to him,he took the kickoff and ran down the sideline and was hit by about 8 are 9 wos kids and he still would not go down just a outstanding kickoff return he has a heart of gold just one of the best runs i have seen in a long time
Agreed, what couldn't that kid #2 Clark do? Excellent game. Play maker, difference maker. Where has all the support for the soph QB (to start/play over Smith) went on this board after last night's performance???? This is just a question. The NDN faithful should have been singing the song of Clark, Rose, and Smith. Interesting how the problems addressed on this board about NDN defense and running game weren't addressed and the drum beat of changing QB's was by the NDN Coaching Staff???? Wow! All I can say is Wow. I smell smoke at the Reservation.

Remember if aint broke, don't fix it! Offense wasn't broke. However, the NDN defense, if I was the coach, that would keep up at night worrying. This is 20-4A after all. Ozen, Vidor, Nederland, Central.....oh the nightmares I would be having trying to find a defense to stop them. It could be a long season if the focus is not put where it needs to be. Politics doesn't sell football tickets - WINNING does! There could be several fires at the ol' reservation this year.
Offense wasn't broke? They totaled 210 yards on 64 plays. Thats 3.3 yards per play of which they averaged 1.6 on the ground...Thats broke. Was it AJ? No. I'd say for his first start he did well enough to warrant another start. There aint no politics going on at PNG. Love it when a Bulldog fan tries to stir the PNG Pot! ;D
If you go back and check, ALL posts bashing AJ (or any NDN player) have come from PNG fans and others, not me. I just stated the obvious, he's NOT the problem with PNG. The bigger problem is NDN defense and lack thereof of a running attack. I have not bashed any players by name, rather the speed and size that is a fact. And, as I said before, it sounds "disrespectful" I have tried to defend AJ on this board, without much support. That has me puzzled. This Political assault by the other qb's faithful (whoever they are) is probably going to be successful. There are bigger problems at the Reservation than a Bulldog fan making a comment.
Just my notes: QB size does matter. AJ did nice job passing, managing offense. Can't see any evidence to start/play anyone else at QB. However, IF PNG so desires to play another QB at MCM, Malveaux, Washington, Pryor just called and say "THANK YOU!" #2 Clark - outstanding, what couldn't that player do? Wow, liked his heart as well. Very impressing game. RB didn't keep his feet moving, noticed that early. #85 Rose, play maker, would use him more. Defense wow, I really dread 20-4A for the NDN defense. Can't wait to MCM. I smell Smoke. Go Dogs! -
The best thing about a game like last night is that it happened early in the season. GCM came out and went toe-to-toe for about 5 minutes. Then the wheels fell off. Two Pick 6's, fumbled KO, fumble: 24-0. Never recovered. I think the coaches found their warriors that will play when things go bad. Lots of "coaching points" on film. Good luck to Nederland. I would be shocked if there was a better team in 20-4A.
Thanks, Vidor will be tough as well. We know not to take anyone for granted esp in 20-4A. GCM looked good at beginning of game I agree. Also, GCM have potential for big plays and some nice speed. Good luck to GCM the rest of season. It's always nice to play GCM. Go Dogs!

Can't say enough good about those guys!!!! They have been outstanding, too. You win fb games at the line of scrimmage. Our running game is just fine and with Raines passing attack - Oh the places we will Go!!!! Go Dogs! -
A couple of things if BF moves up the soph its because he should be there. If you have not seen him play then you really dont have a DOG in this discussion. No pun intended. Ky is an excellent player as is AJ. Whichever decision BF makes it will not be intended to lose games. If its a down season for us then so be it but Im not writing them off.
I have seen soph QB play a lot, including other sports. He is a decent athlete. I don't see him being better than AJ. I do think the size at QB matters. JMO BF can do whatever he likes. It would make sense that he wants to win. My point is that the coach really needs to figure out his defense rather than QB before district starts, that's the weak link on this team. Anyways, Good luck Friday night. -

You won't know what hit you when you play us....BTW....did you go to the Dayton scrimmage? I do realize Angleton will be tough, but the only way you get better is to face good competition in games. Go Dogs! No but a friend of mine was there that is a Nederland fan and he said if y'all play anybody with speed y'all will have big problems if things don't change

I do grant that speed could be a problem for us. Heck, speed can be a problem for any team at any level. However, I don't see a QB having enough time to successfully pass for deep balls with 90 and 92 in his face all night. We might get burned once but the D holds. I'll put all of my money on the big boys up front. No running game will have success vs those guys and then it places the offense in a one dimensional pattern. I do hope for the NDNs they get it together before MCM.
Seriously thedogs1987? Not sure that your Central Middle School comment was neccesary! Don't make fun of schools in your own city!
