1. Looking back at last year's winners....you might think that a defensive player from Ned might not win the award again....even though, there are some very deserving athletes who may still be nominated....like Stampley, Pryor, or Couron. Does Singleton winning it last year hurt a PAM offensive player's chances this year? Definetly, putting M Quirante as a winner of one of the awards. So do you look at someone from WOS or Newton as winner/strong contender for other side of the ball.  If Quirante wins it defensively, does Salter win it offensively?  That would a nice winner, considering the circumstances and how he filled in and then returned and lead his team this season. If Quirante wins it offensively, then do you give the nod to one of the WOS defensive standouts?  Picking just one? I'd lean to Salter offensive winner and Quirante defensive winner. Central's Mitchell should be a finalist along with Fisk PA.  This year they just might want to consider adding a few spots for finalists.  There are so many players that are deserving to just be nominated.
 2. Tremendous player.  Pryor will be missed next season but look forward to seeing him in future, doing what he does so well. Good Job, Good Luck!

I think every team has a few fans that think their team is way better than they are each year...I for one was pretty realistic with this PNG team from the get go, they were 1-9 as Freshman so!!! I think I said PNG may vie for the 4th spot, but only because teams 3-8 were much weaker than in years past (I don't think anyone would argue that I got that right).
You predicted it well.  Do think that PNG's future looks brighter than I had previously thought.  I watched a PNG Freshman game and was impressed with Morse kid and really a few others, seems like that group has it together.  If issues are addressed, things could get really better for PNG sooner than later. As I always say, a better PNG makes us all better.

Think the Offensive woes will see improvement next season....what about running game....is there someone coming in with solid attack. 2-3 years from now, it sounds like if adjustments are made, PNG could be fighting for it DT again. I think enough bugs in the ears regarding Defense have not gone "unheard" after this season  at the Reservation. Also, agree that winning the line of scrimmage is where so many successful teams win it.  Alabama always does this well.  Doesn't really matter who is back there running for them, with holes that open, I could run through them (well, not really, not too much running anymore).  Do you know about running attack that PNG has to look forward to?
Brant Halfin will be a Jr next year and was the bell cow for JV for much of the season. He reminds me of Harmon and Bertrand alot. He is quick between the tackles and always moving forward. He wont wow you with spead, but just like Harmon and Bertrand he will move the chains. And to complement him they have a Sophomore to be, named Cropper that is very fast and elusive that could see some time next year as well (I would suspect he could be the KO return guy on Varsity and could get 4 or 5 carries, maybe even a few catches in space to get him outside). The backup RB on JV, Duhon I think was his name, ran very well also when Halfin was out late in the season. The key again to the running game will be better line play. Most of them return so they will have experience. I would be shocked if the running game didnt vastly improve next season. Which will improve the passing game and the defense.
Agree that a more solid passing attack will help running game which will help passing game.  Is Halfin going to be SR next season?  Bertrand was good so was Harmon.  Pounding those yards out is effective.  Will be good to see PNG more like themselves next season.
 5.
You were mostly correct...The PNG offense took a major downturn in 2012. I think that was one of the biggest reasons for the 2-8 season. PNG offenses under Faircloth averaged 29.4, 36.8 and 33.7 the previous 3 years with very good running games that averaged over 6 ypc and rarely fumbled and a passing attack that completed 60 - 65% of it's passes...The 2012 version averaged around 4 yards per carry, Completed about 51% with 14 interceptions and several fumbles. In 2009 five kids caught double digit passes. In 2010 three did. In 2011 five again. In 2012 only two had double digit catches and only one of those was a WR.
You know, what I still don't really understand is why Clark wasnt utilized on Offense.  Think he would have been heck of WR. Was it just that 2 way starter thing with FC?

With most of the team back from last season who had already won district that is a gimme. PNG new they were going into a down year andmost predicted they would not do well. Once again a gimme. Predicting that GT would loose once again a 50 50 shot. I know you said your uncle was nostradamus but you are not quite up to his standards. But Ill be waiting for you to post your quatrains for next season. You need to go back to work for awhile.
Made prediction of 4 A Div 1 finale a few rounds back, and that my friend would be less than 50/50 guess..... And as far as my predictions other than that last season, thanks for all of the gimme's NOW.....I am sure hind sight is 20/20 and that's not percentages ;D ;D ;D ;D No one mentioned Nostradumas.... Also, I do recall a few NDNs posters when I stated problems with 2012 PNG team at BEGINNING of season, told me the same thing you are saying that I didn't know anything... Lighten up prep.....isn't BAMA PNG's heavy hand.....(I feel a new prediction for 2013 already) All in good fun, sorry, everything is so touchy for you, prep. :-\ and I AM NOT drinking "cookies"  NDNation 8) 8) 8) Happy New Year!!!!!!

If that's true, and I see no reason to believe otherwise, I think Faircloth made a great decision and that both of them will serve very well in those positions.
Seriously.....The freshman has yet to take a varsity snap, hasnt even been through a high school offseason, or even competed against anyone for the job....Do you really believe this? No knock on either of them as Im sure both are more than capable. Surely you dont believe he has already been handed the job.
After watching Morse play, I believe he will do well at the varsity level. I have no doubt that he'll take some knocks early, but in the long run, he will make a fine quarterback for the PN-G Indians. As to whether or not I believe what I'm being told, the source this information came from is well placed and has yet to give me bad information. He may be wrong, but I would be surprised.
Think this kid will do fine next season at Varsity level.  A core group of receivers, yes.  The question for PNG is the running attack. And of course, D.  I do "hear" of changes being made but I'd like to see it action before making prediction on 2013 season for PNG.
 13. [move]I waited until AFTER 12/21/2012 to post this......(everyone can thank me later).... :)[/move] My WISE predictions for football in 2012.  Some call me a Football Wizard, others, well, this is a message board and let's keep it "PG." So here they are..... 1)  At beginning of season, I stated PNG Defense and running game would be problems for PNG in 2012, umm, and it was! 2)  I correctly predicted GT's "tremendous" program and team  - this year would make it to 4A Div 1 FINALE.....(Bull8....what did I "know" right ::)) 3)  I correctly predicted Denton Guyer would "win" state title game 4A Div 1 vs.  GT.....(sorry all SC fans, I know you still believe that somehow, someway you really won it) 4)  I predicted Nederland would win district title again this 2012 season way back last Spring......(vidor fans, I do apologize in advance for letting you know NOW - aka prediction 2013 - that Nederland will sit atop of 20 4A again next season) 5) I predicted MCM would be a non-contest....with easy Dog victory..... 6)  I correctly predicted Pearland Dawson would fall to the Dogs......correct, again, check!!!!  (I apologize for the player who took the loss "too" difficult after the game, and the Texans asked if you could please be removed so you won't be in the way for any more upcoming games) 7)  I correctly predicted that Vidor would finish second in the district.  (I knew that was our biggest battle in district and Vidor gave us all you had, again, great season Pirates.) 8)  I correctly predicted PNG would NOT make the playoffs.  (Hope you turn things around in 2013) 9)  I correctly predicted that Dayton scrimmage loss would not hurt NEDERLAND. And that by having that "loss" vs Dayton, would propel NED to victory over Dayton in JUST the FIRST ROUND Playoff game (but yes, I do know that we lost in SCRIMMAGE and that's all that really counts. :-\  -------------------------  Nederland Fans  "WE WILL NEVER FORGET THAT HOT RAINY DAY IN AUGUST AND HOW DAYTON WHIPPED OUR KEISERS"  )  ******Nederland received no payment from BH representatives for helping BH, use copyrighted slogan of "One and Done" on their archrival**************************************** ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D And Finally,  this is it......the big reveal...... 10)  I predicted Smokinbaby as the funniest poster again this season........well, for now, 2013 predictions are just around the corner... ;) Happy New Year Everyone! 2013 football will be here soon than you think!!!!  Looking forward to many more intelligent, insightful and insatiable postings next football season.  Well, no one tell DemDogs that the message board is still up and running.....the forum format was changed just to have DemDogs lost with all new pazazz!!!!
After what I heard he did in the jv game I say bring him up
AJ did a nice job.  PNG is LUCKY to have him. Unless kid on JV comes up to play Defense, he needs to stay there. Defense is the weak  link and of course, a consistent running game for PNG.  I really would be careful with the "talk" about AJ, it sounds a little disrespectful.  I've said it before and I will say it again.  The job is his and no matter how much you complain, it doesn't make the other player better than him. Well done AJ and PNG....looking forward to MCM....
18.
Hopefully some of the hitting issues referenced above will be improved with the return of Duplant and possibly Weisbrod.  Plus Barrow, Wood, Raines and others will be back with another year of experience under their belts.  As scapegoat said, it is cyclical.  And you never know when an underclassman that wasn't really counted on going into the season is going to come up and have a big year.  There is definitely enough talent in the program that Nederland will be fine this year and at least the next couple.
Never know if chance isn't given. Pitching won't be issue for this season....many arms to throw in there if anyone struggling on mound. Hitting IMO (and everyone's minds) is the big question.  Put everyone you can in there who is hitting and has solid swing.  DH 'em if defense play of another player is "overwhelmingly good".  Barrow, Duplant, Feltman, Stampley, Carson, Sampere, like Brandon Self's bat (coming up this season). Shaw's speed, i'd do bunt drills all day with him. IF Weisbord comes back (???).  Bret, Bordelon and Broussard (who is coming off injury) are standouts for underclassmen.  All 3 have live, LH bats.  I'd buy some of those anywhere.  Those 3 IMO I would pull up for tournament play for experience.  All these kids are team players and bashing a kid's ability is someone who has ulterior motive IMO. This is just to mention a few players....not offending anyone not mentioned above.  Ned is loaded and ready, just need "it" in the clutch.  I know there is someone out there to count on,just gotta find it.
 19. no complaints from me.... this year, Dogs gave everything they had and took us on a great ride and NEDERLAND is proud of all of their accomplishments... 8) 8) 8) Our coaches are great, fans great and football in Nederland looks good in 2013 as well...... 8)

A lot of Soph and Junior starters next year. Rose returns at WR as a playmaker for whoever is at QB (I think Morse gets the knod). Walker proved in short time that he was a valuable DB and could play WR. Not gonna be easy going for the young injuns. Get Silsbee with Sr Reed, then WOS, who will be very good again, then SC at SC.
Smith is team player and would play any where coaches put him on field.  Loves football. Agree on Morse for QB at PNG, playmaker, difference maker, I believe for PNG, he is key for turning it around.

Johnson... please argue with me.  That's not even mentioning Barton and Mayfield who will be significant performers and Krautz, Butler, Bordelon.... won't be a wasted ticket in Nederland.
Tinsley, Broussard, Stewart, Contreras. The list can go on and on, we are going to just fine next year.
Well put... But, what about the quarterback position?
