  1. I have a feeling BH rolls in this one.....BH 8 GP 1
  2. Oh I totally agree. Matter of fact 2 of the 4 I listed do not hit anymore, only pitching at the next level. The other two are still @ BH and are not hitting as well this year at least currently... most likely due to the improved pitching you mentioned. I'm just referring to the post that BH had all pitching last year and no hitting. Fact is , relative to the competition they played against in that year, BH had at least 4 kids hit .400 or better for the regular season last year. The district pitching in '09 is much better than '08 across the board, not as strong as '07 when New Caney had P.J. Dean and Huffman had Listi and Arnold.
  3. My bad. I went back to the Baytown Sun article and sure enough, it was Gabryski who threw agaonst BH. Who faced Dayton for Crosby? Thanks. Malchar threw against Dayton.
  4. Who are Crosby's pitchers ? Malchar, Langley ?, who is the kid that threw against BH ?
  5. Last year's team included 4 players who hit right at .400 or better for the regular season....Hales, Thamm, Clifton, Ponder.
  6. Like when Nolan Ryan pitched for the Astros--drove me nuts Cost Ryan at least two Cy Young awards. >
  7. Only bad things can happen when a pitcher swings a bat. Seriously, glad the kid is ok. More seriously, what is up with you guys ?
  8. This is another tough one to predict in 19-4A. I'll take Dayton, 6-3.
  9. Congratulations to Jay Burditt (Sr, pitcher ) of Barbers Hill for his nomination for Houston Chronicle pitcher of the week. Jay threw a complete game shutout w/ 11 k's in a 6-0 district win over Dayton on Tuesday. Jay has been throwing the ball extremely well. Way to go Jay !
  10. I did all i could do... :-\ We just need to get back to having fun or we're doomed.... I enjoyed our talk yesterday also. always fun. "Get back to having fun"......it's amazing just how often it goes back to exactly that.
  11. LHP12, You didn't help me much getting swept by Texarkana. > > Sounds like you have been throwing the ball really well lately.
  12. Another fine performance from Frank Smesny...this kid can throw the pill. This district will go down to the wire. Nice job, Broncos.
  13. Channelview is the real deal this year. Three solid pitchers.. Wheeler, Rodriquez, and left-handed junior Keith Cormier. Very strong offense. Home runs last night by Lance Wheeler, Larry "BOO" Rodriqeuz, Devon Barrington and two from freshman Sullanger (?). Channelview (6-1) vs. Norhshore (6-1) @ Northshore on Tuesday and @ CV on Friday. GO Falcons !
  14. Except for Burditt...JB is the real deal. 2nd hardest workin' kid I've seen There's a very good chance you may see "Jaybird" pitching years after BH graduation. Like most young pitchers ( one of which I'm very close to )...trust your stuff / fix it btw the ears....and it's over.
  15. Then let them give their 2nd sport the type of dedication it deserves also. It has nothing to do with being in great condition. It has everything to do with learning a new system and/or repitition in an established system. Do not kid yourself. Exactly. Training for baseball and football ( conditioning and weight-training wise ) are two different animals. We have a winner! ;)

  17. You are correct...very competitive and exciting district this year.
  18. Pending an investigation. I sent an email to a UIL representative and to that committee on Congress which deals with sports items instead of worrying about our nation. It could take a while ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  19. I trust your work more than mine. Check your pm's.
  20. Excellent post...well said. I also agree w/ Patriot that I would imagine the Crosby coach, Thompson has addressed this...he is a good coach and a class guy. Play ball.
  21. Let's not forget that smesny hit 4 Crosby batters, as well as the pitcher for Crosby, who in all fairness had a right for retalliation after being hit in the throwin arm by a 90mph smesny fastball. No, it's not very sportsmanlike, but this is Crosby vs. Dayton, as well as a competitive game; daddy ball is over folks...we can take it from here. Props to a spectacular pitching performance by both teams, especially smesny for giving up only 4 hits, 2 to the 3 hole for Crosby, who had all 4 rbi's and game winning hr Best game of the year by far for District 21-4a What the &*^ does intentionally hitting an opponent in the head have to do with daddy ball ?
  22. ;D ;D ;D ;D Look at the big brain on Brad ! Hey, I called you back the other day...........what's up ?
  23. Whoever they are...............I bet they suck ! b
