  1. "sarcasm"...I'm not gonna believe his spit wad hit 90 unless he actually had a gun on him. ;D
  2. Wow...you must be reading different message boards than I......the posts/threads I've read clearly state that BH, Kingwood Park, Goose Creek under Rupp, a vastly improved Dayton w/ Smesny back from injury, and a good Crosby squad will make this a competitive and interesting district....more competition than in the past. I've even seen some praise for CE King and GP....not from me, however. Personally, I picked BH to win the district , not in a cakewalk, as you put it. I don't recall seeing anything about BH "cruising" to a district title this year. BTW, I still pick BH to win district. Just my two cents.
  3. AC up 9-4. John Gacke ( Deer Park ) in for Parker w/ runners at 1st and 2nd no outs after a leadoff walk and ground ball single. Fly out to center, runner advances to third, sac fly to center. AC up 9-5. Strikeout by Gacke.... Game over. Ac wins 9-5. Angelina now 16-10 (2-1). game # 2 in 30 minutes.
  4. AC 9-4 moving to top of the 7th. Michael Padgett ( Barbers Hill ) singles (3-3, HR ), advances on fly out and again on wild pitch. Mark Serna ( Westbrook ) rbi single to score Padgett.
  5. Bossier plates two runs in the 6th. AC batting in bottom half of 6....leading 8-4. Ryland Parker ( Splendora ) now throwing for AC.
  6. Ac explodes for 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th.....around a pitching change by Bossier. AC 8 Bossier 2
  7. Dayton was in the triangle area district last year w/ PNG, LCM, Vidor, etc. Also, they didn't have a very good season last year. As a result, you did not hear much about them. They have their best pitcher back who was hurt last year. Dayton has a very solid squad this year. You/we will be hearing about them. Thompson at Crosby is a good coach and a stand up guy....I can promise you his not mentioning Dayton was not intentional.
  8. I would put one of the top players in CF.....especially if you have 5-6 other good players. I certainly remember the coach pitch days. Seems like yesterday, not 10-11 years ago. Good luck.
  9. Top of 3rd Ac 3 Bossier Parish 1 Michael Padgett (Barbers Hill ) solo HR over the center field scoreboard.
  10. game #1 TreyRackel ( Mayde Creek ) pitching for AC. Jake Rowell ( LCM ) behind the plate. Top of 1st---Bossier loads the bases, Rackel works out of jam, allowing one unearned run. Bottom Of 1st Jake Rowell (LCM ) with a double, Chris Andreas ( Brenham ) with RBI double scoring Rowell, Greg Garcia ( Pflugerville ) RBI single scoring Andreas. Top of 2nd AC 2 Bossier 1
  11. Bossier Parish DH scheduled for Sat. March 14....rescheduled to Sunday, March 15. ..now scheduled for Monday the 15th @ Angelina. Single 9-inning game vs. San Jacinto previously scheduled for Monday the 15th @ Angelina now set for TBA. Monday....Bossier Parish @ AC (DH) Wednesday...AC @ Navarro (DH) Saturday....North East @ Angelina (DH)
  12. First, I am going to point-blank disagree with the the statement "they are all better than him". Granted, that is a matter of opinion ... but it is just incorrect. LSU has a proverbial "glut" of outfielders. Many will be gone after this season: Jared Mitchell: starts in LF; Jr. and projected to be drafted early. He'll be gone. Derek Helenihi: started last night in RF; Sr. and gone to graduation. Leon Landry: stars in CF; Soph and most likely gone after his jr. year to the draft. Blake Dean: DH who insisted he get time in OF to help his draft status. Coach acquiesed. Dean will be gone after this year. Chris McGhee: Sr. who is UT player. Gone to graduation. Nick Pontiff: Sr. whose family is well connected at LSU. Hitting .200 in limited action. Gone to graduation. Chad Jones: Soph who also plays football. Every year it is an issue on what he'll do. Currently in Spring Football. Also, has history of attitude/run-ins with law. Question mark on his status. Mike Mahtook: Fresh. who has seen limited action (7 ABs all year). Gave up year of eligibility for 7 ABs. Worth it? Next year, Johnny projects to start for them. He can redshirt, keep a year of eligibility, and is still draft-eligible after next year. Why waste a year (like Mahtook) fighting for a few ABs? As far as transferring, that (under the new NCAA rules) is not a very viable option. If he transfers to a D1 school, he has to sit out a full year. He can transfer to a JC and play but why do that? He'll play next year at LSU. Geaux Tigers ! .......and I'm a Horn.
  13. Horns win by three. K State misses a 3-pointer at the buzzer. Texas vs. Baylor tomorrow @ 6:00. HOOK 'EM HORNS !
  14. My son got to work and throw w/ Clay twice @ Angelina before he left for spring training. He was very impressed w/ how "down to Earth" Clay is and how much time he spent helping him. Great kid. "JR" told me that Clay's 12-6 is nasty....very nasty. Best of luck to Buchholz this season.
  15. Nice job, Bears. The line on Kendall looks a little better than I thought. ;D Another solid day at the plate for Dugas.
  16. Long day for Eagle07. :( Game #1...Paris 8 AC 3. Thamm (BH) (5 1/3 IP), 9 hits, 5 BB's, 6 runs, 2-4 earned runs ? , 5 K's. AC starts off strong...Thamm faces 4 batters in top of 1st..0 runs. Greg Garcia ( fr-Pflugerville) leads off w/ solo HR....1-0 AC...other than Jake Rowell's (LCM ) solo shot...that was pretty much it. AC w/ 1 more hit in the game. Good news...Game # 2...AC w/ a 10-9 victory scoring in the bottom of the 9th. Not many details ( had to leave ??? ) Cory Benevidas(?) ( soph-Friendswood ) starts for AC. Ryan Smith ( Foster ) middle relief...and I believe Miller Aldridge ( A&M Consolidated) closed. AC (15-10) (1-1).
  17. Man, this lefty for Cuba is freakin' bringing it....100 mph at least 3-4 times in the 1st-2nd inning. I was told to meet him in Key West w/ dry clothes.
  18. I believe he is......Rip pitched at Sam Houston w/ a friend of mine.
  19. ..........and I thought my reporting was a little shoddy late.. ummm ;D
  20. Jordan Soper pitched masterfully also. ...I love that word. Great ball game.
