How long were they "not allowed to play UIL football?" o stealthninja, that never happened, you have a nobody running his mouth about something he knows NOTHING about, yes the calling was poor at this tourney, but in the end the better team won, now if we were to have a re-match would they win again, who know's, I believe its how these kids show up that day and want to play, Congrats to both teams!!!!!!!! Indian Fan, You may want to check into this because it did happen to Cleveland just not to the extreme that was stated. It was in the mid 80's and it was basketball not football. They were able to play UIL games but they did have some games played where no fans were allowed to enter the gym. During this time frame Cleveland had some very good teams. I do not remember the exact year but would say between 82 and 85. This resulted from a very bad fight where most of the blame was placed, and I guess proven to have been caused by the Cleveland supporters. Your right, it was basketball......I am still thinking football after BH's lengthy playoff run into December.... ;D ;D I played against Cleveland in basketball in '81-82. All games at Cleveland we were escorted by police out of the gym, onto the bus, and out of the parking lot. Once again, what does that have to do with the kids of 2008-2009, yes parents were angry because of the one sided calling, but come on, to keep bringing something up that happened over 25 years ago is just crazy....... My response was entirely about the earlier post that talked about Cleveland fans. Seems like some things never change. You are correct, it has absolutely nothing to do with the kids of '-08-09.............and neither did my post.

BH won their Tournament Nobody is saying they would beat HJ, Kounce or a half a million other teams!!!! All they can say is they won this one and I think after what Cleveland did to Silsbee and the rest they faced that it was a quality win by the Eagles. Thought I'd pass this along.. Saw in the paper ....North Forest defeated Cy Springs 101-99 in the Kingwood Holiday Classic. This must've been a great game to watch. Dwayne Wade led with 40 points after hitting 26 in a win against Cy Ridge. IMO, Wade will be the 19-4A MVP and North Forest will be the district champ. NF's record is only listed at 7-11. I do know that they have played a very strong non-district and tournament schedule against many 5A squads.

No big deal...They just raise ticket prices by 18%, shoot a hot dog to $7.50 and a cold one to $8. See...we have plenty of moneyfor payroll!!! ;D Friggin ridiculous...when I lived in NY i was about 15 minutes from the Stadium. We'd go to as many home games as possible. GenAdmin seats were $2.50, bleacher seats $1.25 We'd wait until the 3rd inning then sneak into the reserved/box sections cause we couldn't afford the $3.50 - $5.50 for those seats). A hotdog was $1.25 and a beer was $2.00. Now it would take refinancing the house just to get enough money for parking in a lot ( so the truck doesn't get trashed/stolen/burned/stripped), plus the cost of hiring a security guard to walk you from the lot to the Stadium entrance (so you don't get shot/stabbed/assaulted/drugged) ;D How many times did you see the Babe play? Jai Lucas is transferring from Florida where he started 36 games last year....averaging 8.5/game and led the Gators from behind the arc. This is a huge pickup for the Horns.

This isn't SE Texas but thought you basketball guys may be interested. Strake Jesuit ( ranked # 1 in Houston area/ # 5 in state 5A ) defeated Wheatley ( ranked #1 in Houston and # 1 state 4A ) 82-78 to capture the championship of the HISD tournament. Strake moves to 17-0 on the season and Wheatley falls to 14-2. Wheatley was led by Mike Davis' 36 points. Joey Brooks led Strake with 27 points and was named tournament MVP.
