  1. Barbers Hill lost all of their starting pitchers, Kendall Thamm (Angelina), Ross Hales ( Tex A&M ), Hunter Silva ( San Jac ), and Jonathan Kelley ( Galevston ) . All of these kids drew interest from MLB scouts and D1s. They will be tough to replace. With that said, I still think BH competes for the district title. They have several arms that have waited their turn because of the guys that were in front of them. Starting catcher ( THSWA hon-mention All State ) Jake Ponder returns, starting 1B Alex Rocha ( drawing interest from D1s ), starting 2b Cody Clifton ( district new-comer of the year last year ) returns, along with starting ss Tony Carmona. 2/3's of the OF also returns. Look for pitching to come from Rocha, Jay Burditt, Carmona, Matt Peterson, and junior Michael Bounds. Strong hitting Kolby Henscey should fill up one of the outfield spots.
  2. I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who is an insurance agent and is working claims for Texas Windstorm. Texas Windstorm will pay for the fence @ $25/linear foot. It will be depreciated, however. From what I hear in this area ( West Chambers County ) $18/19 per linear foot is the going rate for bids that I have heard about.....so you can recoup some of the depreciation there.
  3. Actually, this is my ex-wife's scenario but Allstate quit paying for fence damage in the area where they are at last year. Like health insurance, it works great until you get sick. As an insurance agent, you must not have the right person taking care of you! ;D I kinda figured that when you asked your question. So, do you think that her Allstate agent ( even though not liable for the fence ) should act as a liason, for lack of a better word, between her and Texas windstorm ? That's what I would think. Appreciate your help. Absolutely, he/she should do anything they can to help. At the very least make an effort. They may or may not be able to do anything but they have to put in the effort. That, in my opinion is why we get our piece of the pie. I agree. I will let her know. Thanks for your help. You wouldn't happen to be in the Barbers Hill area, would you ? ;D No, I'm in Orange. I don't mind speaking in general about insurance. That being said if it's not my policy, that's about all I can do. I don't want other people trying to explain my policies so I won't try to explain theirs. I hope that helped. it did help and I appreciate it.

  7. Bullets, My ex in Barbers Hill was told the exact same thing by Texas windstorm.....She was to speak with Allstate adjuster today and try to figure out another route. I'm with you...not sure what windstorm covers if not a fence. I'll update you when I hear something later today. Still waiting on Texas Windstorm....it's been two weeks after talking w/ insurance adjuster. I have heard from a roofing company that Texas Windstorm did in fact pay for two jobs that they did. So who knows....it would be nice to be able to talk with them. > >
  8. Sounds like the BH Duo at it again! Michael Padgett-BH was 1 for 3 w/ a double, run scored, and two bb's.
  9. Angelina loses game 1 on Saturday to Panola. I believe 6-2....could be wrong. Angelina takes game 2 against Paris....4-0, using 5 different pitchers to get the shutout. Kendall Thamm-BH throws first 4 innings, giving up a single w/ 3 bb's and 4k's. Chase Barrera-BH throws next 2 innings. Still learning who all the players are...not sure who the three other pitchers were. Also, Kenny Allison of Beaumont Central w/ an RBI double. Allision also made an excellent, over-the-shoulder catch in center. Angelina will be @ Lamar University this Saturday to play a doubleheader against San Jac and Navarro.
  10. I think that bad call against Pashal in the 1st quarter cost them the ball game.
  11. Look at it another way. Do you think Dan Hooks would have had as much success in BH as he has had at WOS? No way! You still need talent and WOS has lots of it. Or you inferring that BH doesn't have alot of talent this year ?
  12. You must have not read very many post the last couple of years ;D That's what I was thinking....better get Jodi to call him. ;D
  13. uuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ok : Thanks for the help......and the moon is made of blue cheese. Actually the sarcasm was directed at a BH colleague of mine who "theorized" that the wins are gone becuase we are no longer playing Tarkington, Liberty, and Splendora. I think maybe you just had the targets of my inferred sarcasm wrong. ??? ???
  14. Now we have to play 4A powerhouses such as CE King, Kingwood Park, Goose Creek Memorial, Crosby, GP and last year Forest Brook, Smiley, and New Caney. I still don't see anything about Barbers Hill being a powerhouse. ??? ??? ???

  16. Thanks for the update, Bears. I will be there tomorrow. I was in Lufkin on Wednesday..got to speak with your boy a little. Good kid. I'll give you a call later this morning.
  17. : Where exactly did you see BH called a powerhouse ?
  18. ;D ;D ;D Hard to follow that...Good stuff.
  19. I certainly understand what your saying. There are exceptions. If you are a baseball guy, go check out Matthew Purke @ Klein high school this year. He is a 90's guy...consistently.....and he's a lefty. rated #1 or # 2 pitching prospect in the country for next June's draft. This kid something else to watch.
  20. Little Superman...That's good stuff. Kid is amazing isn't he ....all 5'8' of him ? I agree with your point... If you are undefeated you should qualify as somebody.
  21. Ok "dude"you don't have to be so sour just because your team isn't doing so hot... : I'm a baseball guy. Sure I pull for BH football, if they lose...not the end of the world for me. Apologies, if I came across to harsh.
  22. Dude, It was a joke...sarcasm. I really don't believe any of the teams I mentioned qualify as 4A powerhouses.
