  1. Thanks, Cubfan. I really appreciate that. Check your personal messages.
  2. Very nice post.....very classy. Your son pitched one heck of a game and had a great season...very bright future. You are right about #8's mom....She and her son are the real deal. Best of luck to you guys.
  3. Lost 5-4....giving up 3 unearned runs....all with two outs.
  4. Sounds like the same kind of sportsmanship that the football team had. It must be an entire school district thing. I was at game # 1 and have to say I was surprised by the lack of sportsmanship by the LC team. Obviously, not all of them. I've had a chance to get to know a couple of them and they are good kids. We ( BH) beat them in the Area round last year and they were one of the classiest teams we played. This is interesting because this is the 1st year for their head coach. Last year's coach took the Elkins job and had a great year.. Just my two cents.
  5. Anyone have any info. on the All-Star games being held @ Rice University. I've heard the Senior game is on June 17th. Trying to comfirm. I do know Ross Hales, Kendall Thamm, and Hunter Silva from Barbers Hill and Jeff Schmidt and Kyle Meadows from Huffman have been selected to play. Any additional would be appreciated. Congratulations to all of these young men.
  6. Exactly....MIF04 is able to say better than I.
  7. No doubt...Hang your heads high...congrats also from Barbers Hill. Some really great kids on the PNG team. Best of luck in the future.
  8. Love your attitude Mom. Enjoyed visiting with you. An excellent ballgame last night. Harrington and Rogers both outstanding on the mound. Good luck Indians. Not sure if I'll make the 1st game....gotta get 'JR" off to the prom. ;D
  9. With sunshine today and tomorrow, I would think the field will be ready to go tomorrow night. I was out there yesterday afternoon and the tarp was on the infield. The outfield drains fairly quick. Go Indians.
  10. Good luck tomorrow night and Friday against LC. I'll be pulling for the Indians to win it all........After our fiasco, the PNG Indians are my new team. ;D ;D See ya tomorrow night.
  11. There is/are 6 of em still on the team...If the opportunity presents itself, the player you should intentionally walk is Randall Gruchik, the USA little league career home run leader. His niche is going yard.....I believe 14 this year. He's very good at it.. I'm BH. We played Lamer National in the 14-year old state junior league tourney...Beat 'em 7-6...and Gruchik was a beast. We met em' again last year in the Area round of the playoffs. Some how we swept them, 4-1 and 6-2. My son went the distance in the 6-2 game. His first comment afterwards..." I've never faced a team that...1 thru 9 can absolutely mash the ball. Kid vs. Grucik...kid w/ a strikeout, Gruchic w/ a no-doubt 400 ft. plus missile, kid/Gruchik w/ a hit by pitch... Got to met Gruchik and his Dad....great people. With all of that said, I'm stll going w/ the tribe in 3. Good luck.
  12. Really appreciate that elhector1......and back at ya. Mine's a SR. and will pitch at Angelina next year...So look for me on the JUCO board....I'm not going too far away. I'm a baseball junkie now. I've really enjoyed being a part of this board thru out the year....Met some good people who had a kid(s) on the "other team"......that I now consider friends..........and hope our kids play on the same team. SE Texas is loaded with talent.......and more importantly, good stand-up kids. It's refreshing to know that there still some parents that are doing their job.....and doing it well. Good luck to you. Eagle, it was great meeting you early in the year. I look forward to to keeping the board up to date on your son's progress in college. Hey, it's more fun on the board when you don't have kids playing so keep us updated on west of the trinity. Likewise....I totally understand the more fun on the board if your kids not playing. Man, I gotta tell ya...if your kids a pitcher on a team that's getting lots of recognition....you lose your hair, start using profanity, and start praying even more.... ;) It ain't for everybody.....not sure if it's for me........Na, I'm in. :D Update #1 on the team West of the Trinity.... Obviously, losing all of their pitching...Don't let that fool you....5 above average arms ready to move in. BH doesn't lose much other than pitching....Defensively, not much changes. At the risk of sounding like a biased homer, I honestly look for BH to contend for the district title again next year. Players to watch : Ponder ( the heir apparent for team leader ), Rocha, Clifton, Padgett, Carmona, Burditt, Bounds, Baker, Peterson, Hensey. Again as a biased homer ( the beauty of BH is there's lots of good kids who take education seriously and love their sports....the crop really never grows too thin.

  14. In my humble opinion, LC and Brenham have the best hitting teams in Region III 4A...maybe in the state. With that said, I'll take PNG in 3. Good luck.
  15. I like that better, UTGUY09... ;) BH had plenty of chances. Bay City pitcher threw 70 pitches in the first 3 innings. He was tiring and BH was up 4-1. Next three innings we have one batter, maybe two reach base. All 5 runs for Bay City were scored with two outs. Three of the five were scored on errors with two outs. Thamm nice job on the mound...6 IP, 5-6 K's, 2 BB's, 2 earned runs. Alex Rocha great day at the plate. Two hits that were scorced. Top of the 7th, with tieing run on base, Rocha hits a bomb to center field only to be caught against the wall. It is what it is....Best of luck to Bay City. They have a scrappy team that plays with a lot of heart. For now, I'll be pulling for Harrington and the Indains. Best of luck to PNG....see you guys out at BH next week.
  16. This might be one of the best matchups of the entire playoffs. In @ 3-game series, I'll take the tribe. Good luck.
  17. BH Eagles respond with their best game of the season........offensively and defensively. Hunter Silva very solid 7 innings on the bump, scattering 7 hits. Eagles start early.....Thamm walks on 4 pitches to leadoff. Silva hits a rocket on pitch #5. That's all Silva and the Eagles would need. Soph. Michael Bounds ( a playoff pull-up) strong game @ ss and at the plate. Seldom used Jared Baker oustanding @ 3rd base. Jake Ponder excellent behind the plate and hit a solo HR. The rubber game tomorrow @ 2 @ Manvel High School. Thamm for BH and Rutherford for Bay City. If Thamm pitches his game and Eagles play the same defensively, Eagles will advance.
  18. I'm in....we can always kidnap BHFan if needed. Just pretend, dare the thought, if we happen to not advance.....w/ the current recession and all, can you still buy dinner ? ;) Sounds like yall have been listing to BH-89 to much. Momma lets me play ,but somebody has to coach these boys of mine , so they can grow up and whoop up on the Golden Triangle ;D Hey don't tell me about raising kids we have three boys and two girls Hank. Difference between you and us is that we go where we want when we want and how we want. Now unleash that string and come out and play with the big boys. 8) Moma will understand promise and in fact from what I recall sorta married up. 8) Blah Blah Blah ;D Can someone kidnap me....it's ugly.
  19. My "bitterness" has nothing to do with UTGuy09....I don't think my response was too terrible. He jabbed and I jabbed back. No harm, no foul. I've never been on here claiming conspiracy or such. My " bitterness" is centered around a couple of things that "non-Barbers Hillers " do not know anything or much about. We'll leave it at that. I do appreciate your support and hope you are correct about pulling out the series victory. As far as your question, the majority of the damage was in the 3rd...8 runs scored. For the game, we had 6 errors, at least 4 mental errors defensively, and a baserunning error that cost us probably two runs.
