  1. Just so happens I have an appointment in Mont Belvieu Friday at 3 pm. We don't let just anyone inside of Mont Belvieu.
  2. I agree. I haven't seen Lott pitch. If he is 6'3 225, throwing 90, and left-handed scouts would be all over him....I mean all over him. Not a knock on Lott. Just that all these stats ain't adding up when you look at the attention he's getting. I realize he's gotten some interest from a few scouts....but the numbers I'm hearing, every MLB scout would be in town.
  3. I have a question...maybe you guys can help me out. I understand or I'm aware of some of the rule changes not all. My question....A player is drafted in the late rounds by say the Astros but does not sign, goes to Juco instead. Do the Astros hold a right to talk/negotiate with that player before the next year's draft and before any other MLB club does ? Used to be that way with none of any other teams org being allowed to talk to player or family member. I have no idea why it was changed. They used to be locked in with whoever drafted up until a ?? (date) after schools out with a exception of playoff teams and then only 24 hrs after completing tourn In our case the draft had already taken place after being elem in the 99 JUCO series. I dought MLB was behind the new rule. IMO it sucks for the HS players. Thanks, 643. I agree with your assessment...not as good for the high schoolers.
  4. If you are talking about Brady Rogers....he's good. Not one of the best pitchres in the state ! We faced them last year in the area round. Consolidated is known for their hitting. I'd pitch very carefully to Randal Gruchik.
  5. Lamar Consolidated in two. Very, very good hitting team with some decent arms.

  7. Three game series..Thursday and Friday @ 7:00. Saturday @ 2:00, if necessary. Will be either Manvel or Baytown Lee. Alvin/Atasoctita(?) have first dibs on Manvel... If they choose Manvel, BH will be at Baytown Lee. If they go elsewhere, BH will be at Manvel. Personally, I can't see Atasocita wanting to play Alvin in Manvel....although the field is excellent. Post when the location is final. Will do. Hope to hear something tonight.

  9. I'd like to see BH/PNG also....means we are all in the Region III final. ;D BH has not played well lately. These two teams have played 4 games this season and last. Barbers Hill won both season openers 1-0. They also beat Bay City 4-1 and 3-1 in last year's Regional quarterfinals. Also, Bay City's asst. played under the BH head coach. These two teams know each other very well. Bay City's top three pitchers are all pretty solid. Benson, Rutherford, who is a great athlete and signed to play QB in college, and Tomak. I look for BH to get back on track and take this series in 2.
  10. Seven Lakes finished third in their district behind Lamar Consolidated and Bay City...edged out Foster for the final playoff spot. Their #1 pitcher is pretty solid.....but he ain't Herrington. I'll take the Indians in two in this series. Good luck.
  11. You might try sending a PM to FalconFanatic....ETBU would but he is out of town.
  12. The class 4A Region III final ??? ??? ??? Anything is possible. That could be a possibility but not sure I want to watch that closely..lol ;D LOL...
  13. I have watched lots of baseball and you need to get real. 4A baseball is not what it used to be in this area. Go back when Stone coached at Nederland. Sanches, Floyd, Landry, Matlock...and crew they would have easily runned ruled any 3a or 4a team in the area today. That includes PNG. Also, HJ is a good baseball team and I believe PNG does have a district loss also. I don't know about that.
  14. As you might guess, I take issue with this. This is not what we do, never have. If we had a player with a bad or sore arm, I would know, our coaches would know, etc. And, by the way, we "underpitch" our players. We have lost games/tournaments for that reason. I even remember a game where our pitchers hit their pre-determined pitch count and we forfeited. Simple as that. But, since you don't want to publicize it, send me a PM. I will assure you I will check on it. I'll vouch for that.
  15. Do you know if there is any way we can get stats on all of the players that made the list? I think everybody would like that....Well maybe everybody... MaxPreps/FanPages......if coaches report to this site........they should.

  17. Awesome stuff. Congratulations. Also, best of luck to Eric and the Indians in the playoffs.
  18. Some of the current 18's are Hales, Silva, and Thamm from Barbers Hill Marshall and Cervanka from Baytown Sterling Steinhagen from Beaumont Kelley. To name a few. The MLB draft in June could change the roster some. How often do they train with the Devils? Most were working out on Mondays and Wednesdays before the season started. The BH group will be at the upcoming practices before the Baton Rouge tourney gets here.........depending on playoff scenarios.
  19. Please elaborate, Scrap. I'm curious to hear at least some of your wealth of knowledge that shows how a 14U team winning a "meaningless tourney" means they "risked their young arms." Is there a new league that allows you to play/compete/win withOUT having someone pitch? Please, do share, because I'm very interested! ??? :-\ I was a little curious as to exactly what that meant also.

  21. There is a good chance to scoreboard wont be on. Neither coach is going to go out of his way to win this game. Youll probly see 5-6 different pitchers for each team trying to get guys who havent thrown in a while, especially for PNG since they have pretty much been throwing 2 guys most of the way. Got to get the young guys ready for a playoff run. If you are having to throw 5-6 guys in the playoffs...chances are you ain't winning.
