  1. Ok i'll turn it off.. :D

Thanks....while you are at it....can you make it warmer again ?

Eagle07, did they work out the schedule for today and tomorrow?

Not sure about tomorrow yet.  Today's schedule is the same as the original. vs. L Charles Barbe in a few minutes  and 5:00-5:30 vs Westbrook..both @ St. Pius...I'm stuck at work until about 4:00....wouldn't you know "JR" is pitching in game 1...Murphy's Law.  :( :(

  2. BMTSOULJA , I questioned the strategy of the triangle and 2 defense I saw against BH .  Good choice of defense , but when you don't match up with #2 Ybarra who is BH'S best player  and leave him alone it is a questionable strategy.  Even you should agree with that.  Now if you would have matched up with #2 and either #32 / #10 , then the strategy might have made a difference.

OK..I am going to TRY to explain this where you "coaches" can actually understand...First off, I DO NOT AGREE with the the particular strategy in THIS situation, BUT, I understood what he was thinking...Sometimes coaches have a tendency to concede that a certain player will always "get his", meaning his points...The thought from a coaches perspective is this: You get yours, but NO ONE ELSE will hurt me while you do so, which will make it harder for you to "beat" me by yourself...(kinda like how the Spurs let Nash score 40, but stopped everyone else in the process, making it harder on Nash to will them to a win...Kinda) GURU-ism! You know... I should start charging for my knowledge!! ;D

You would just give all of your earnings back with your predictions.  ;D

  3. OK lets be honest here...Did you guys REALLY think that you could beat Central? Honestly...You guys are like Appalachian State beating Michigan in football this past year...It DID happen, but really, what were the odds? Congrats, enjoy the win...You guys WILL be packing it up after Saturday afternoon...BH finished THIRD in that weak district...Yes they beat Central...Shot extraordinarily well from 3 that night...Shot twice as many free throws...Got very lucky in the end with the turnover gift and a circus shot at the buzzer....And really, that's all it took...BH advanced...It happens...LaMarque by 20... ;)

BH beating Central is a long ways away from Appalchian State beating Michigan....Central ain't that good. Let's do get honest here.  ;) I personally did think BH had a chance to beat Central...I think they have a chance to beat LaMarque..I think Central's team is as good as LaMarque's. And trust me, we've heard all about the "weak" district thing...since day one..You're starting to sound like some of the baseball posters. ;D You giving me the twenty ?  ;D

  4. Barber's Hill is very capable of beating LM, but if the BH players overlook the coogs like many of their fans are, we might see a 2nd round exit for Barber's Hill...

Let's not give these 'little kiddie" posters any merit....I'm sure it's more of a joke on their part. Us more 'seasoned" posters, or maybe it's age, know better. BH is very capable of beating LaMarque just as LaMarque is very capable of beating BH...Ain't anyone that counts overlooking LaMarque.

  5. yeah i watched the game ybarra is a stud

I don't know if he is a stud or not but from the way he took control of that last shot, he definitely have some balls for the game. The average kid would have thrown the ball to another player and not accepted the responsibility of winning the game for his team.

I'm actually curious as to what he does during the summer. The thing I have noticed about a lot of the big-game players is that they play in a constant pressure cooker called AAU. That kid was in too much control to just play ball in Chambers County.

Ybarra is quite an athlete...although really doesn't look like one. He grew up in Channelview before moving to BH years ago. Growing up, Brooks was the best shortstop around. I might be mistaken but I'm fairly certain that he doesn't play summer AAU ball or hasn't in the past. Spends alot of time on the golf course....very good golfer.

Brooks missed the early part of bb season w/ foot injury. Since returning in late December, he is averaging 20+/game, including games of 35 (B. Central), 32 ( Galena Park) , and 43 (Huffman ).  Kid can play some ball.

  6. The Houston Christian Tournament is loaded with VERY good teams.  I wished I could see all the games in this tournament, however some of us have to work.  I have no idea who wins this one, but Barbe has got to be one of the favorites.  A friend os mine is a private pitching coach for a number of the Flour Mound kids and they can flat throw the rock.   West Brook has a very good offense.  BH has great pitching depth.  That's just a few of the good teams in this one.

If you win 1/2 your games in this one you have done something.

You are correct....this tournament is loaded with quality teams. Unfortunately, the weather is already a factor. Noon game w/ BH vs. St. Pius has already been rescheduled to Saturday....waiting to see if BH/Pasadena Memorial @ 5:00 will be played today.

  7. BH appears to have another fine team this year. Should be some good first round playoff games

Going to be a good year for BH.  Once the offense catches up to the pitching, look out.  Golden Triangle better not lose site of Bay City.  They will be in the mix once playoffs get here, especially if it is a 1-gamer.

Bay City actually has two good pitchers. The other is Shawn Rutherford....played second last night. Heck of an athlete. Honorable mention All-state QB and a starter on the basketball team. has signed to play football...I believe in New Mexico somewhere. I spoke with him a few times over the last two years....seems to be a good kid.

Yes, your right.  I watch LCM get all they wanted of that kid.  He threw a lot of fast-balls and LCM just could not get the ball out of the park.  Lot of long fly balls at U of H that day.

Was that the "field is too big game" ?  ;)

  8. Calls went BH's way the entire night.........sure!!!!!!!  That is why BH's PG fouled out and several of their players had 4 fouls as well.  If memory serves me correct all of Central's starters were on the court when #2 drove by all 5 of them...  I'm through with this subject as well........I have to get ready and plan my weekend.  Might go catch Dayton on Friday in Pasadena and go on down to LaPorte on Saturday.   Dicky V... tell your brother to deflate the balls, they will last longer in the off-season

    ;D ;D ;D
