  1. BH 10 Second Baptist 5 ..As I left, Second Baptist had one more at bat.

BH did not throw the "big 4" and Second Baptist did not throw thier ace, Ross Seaton (Tulane).

BH opens Tuesday @ home against Bay City w/ very excellent pitching staff and look to be very solid defensively @ every spot...Last 2 scrimmages BH hitting ball very well.

This evening, Thamm (3-run HR), Ponder and Rocha w/ solo blasts.

Second Baptist, Ross Seaton w/ HR.

Second Baptist's facilities are second to none.

  2. Not sure why BC is one of the only schools where this bashing happens on here.  :-\ Maybe we should look at the example some of the surrounding schools are setting by not bashing their players, coaches, and fans.

As an "outsider", I admit I'm confused by all the bashing in regards to BC....especially when you look at the success the program has had.  ???

  3. I think 68-58  but again this is coming via text message from teenager.  I'm stuck on travel but at least I was getting updates while watching UT/Kansas on tube.  Dayton should be proud of good season and look forward to more trips to the playoffs.  BH will now play a very tough Bay City team who I think is ranked in top 15 in 4A...but of course rankings are not always very true.

    Way to go Eagles !

BH85....sounds like you got to enjoy two great basketball games.  ;)

    HOOK 'EM !

  4. I left top of the 7th and BH was up 13 to 0.  The horns had an off night tonight with a lot of dropped balls and the pitching really struggled.

BH pitching was very good tonight.  A few Pro-Scouts in the stands watching the game.  Ross Hales was again lights out, as was Kendall Thamn and Johnathan Kelly.  Sorry I missed everyone else.  Nice to see some hitting tonight and especially the power shots.  #44 took one deep from the right side of the plate that was 360 plus and Jake Ponder spanked one over the right field fence.  Next at bat #44 crushes one through the gap from the left side (switch hitter).

Good luck Horns this year.  Nice to meet you Adminbabe.

Sampere, Bellows, McFarland, Thamm, Kelly, Hales, Silva in 3 days, Harrington, Carnahan does it ever end.

Heck, I seen bh89-2 and eagle07 warming up. HF will be fine, once someone throws under 85. The Eagles have a fine club.

    LOL..

Trust me..that wasn't Eagle07 you saw warming up....his days are long over.  ;D

Nice to finally meet you Admin.

  5. WB vs LC-M was not a scheduled game except a scrimmage........are you talking about a scrimmage??

I agree LCM is a great team, but I think Vidor will be the team that stands out this year. We did not loose many starters and we have gained some good talent. If you think about it we are the only team in our district that won a game in the playoffs, and that was against B Hill, a very good team! By the way we just beat Jasper in a scrimmage.... I am looking forward to a great year. After football season we need some good news!

Any team who takes Vidor for granted this year...will be sorry.

With that said, BH will not take Vidor for granted this year.  ;D

BIGNED88...My bad, I'm talking about BH again.  ;)

  6. Did Orangefield get their scrimmage in ?

Yes they did, 9 innings, 6 pitchers threw and allowed 1 run; Pitching was about as expected, defense was ok and offense needs some more work; all in all about as expected for a first scrimmage.  OF is young all the way around the diamond, with some more coming out after basketball.  Next 2 scrimmages will be a good test, Vidor on Saturday and then Nederland next Tuesday.  Coach Bennett has this program on the rise and good things will happen for them.

How did the Felts kid look ?

I believe he threw first and went 2 innings, had a little wildness but kept his composure and got out of some tight spots; he looked great behind the plate, though, was throwing rockets to 2nd base

Thanks for the info. Felts has alot of potential...bright future.

  8. you should get used to MLB in the house.  lefty throwing 90 and righties right up there with him, that should be a common fixture at barbers hill games.

That's lefty throwing 90, 2 righties up there w/ him, and 1 lefty 85-88 w/ 4 pitches.  ;D MLB will be seen often this year. Junior Alex Rocha pitched last inning and struck out the side.

Good scrimmage. BH got alot accomplished against a good Bay City team. Will need overall hitting to improve.....which was expected.

Sophmore Carter Smith nice job going 2-2 w/ an RBI...while filling one of the vacated outfield spots.

  9. BHFAN your going to get on here and say that BH had better talent than Beaumont Central 2 years ago.  If you believe that then your badly mistaken.  As for getting beat by weaker talent ,  every team that gets in the playoffs is there because they can play.  Upsets happen , but in the end it is the kids that play the game and they must take some of the responsibility.  I still believe that the staff at BH is one of the best staffs in area.  Ask any coach around and they will tell you that BH does more with less than most do with more talent.  But in the end you are entitled to your opinion, your crazy ideas, and your wishes.  I though am entitled to mine and I believe Price is one heck of a coach and would have been proud to have my sons play under him.

Oldman, you're debating someone who has an inflated opinion of how good BH really was over the last few years.  BH had SOME success since '99, but they really were only a modestly good team over that span.  They gave a great effort in the playoff loss to Beaumont Central, and many were surprised that BH took them to the wire, but talent eventually won that game.  BH followers should have been impressed with what Price and his staff brought to that game.  The Kirbyville losses (at least ONE of them) could have gone either way.  BH has not established themselves as a program (at least not yet) that has the personnel to be at or near the top of their district EVERY year, but somehow in the minds of these two armchair QBs they just can't believe it.  Keep in mind, BHFAN and bh89-2 did not play football, but they are the "experts" behind the keyboard.

If Price is a finalist for the Lake Travis job, which is an attractive job that many have applied for, then that speaks a high compliment for the man.

Griff I don't know where you get your info. , but again you are dead wrong Myself and BH-89 Have played football unlike yourself! Just keep preaching on the radio and leave the discussions to us ;D  You speak of having an inflated opinion of your team while you think WOS is going to state every year when in reality they can't get out of the region and probably never will ;D You know NOTHING about BH all someone had to do is read your last post!

how can you say he knows nothing when in reality he realizes BH has NO talent and Price is still putting together legitimate teams. Your getting pretty ridiculous.

BH has no talent....I'd beg to differ !
