  1. Throw at me and get thrown out - That would help your team.

Come on man - I am just playing around a little - Don't get defensive about it.  You gotta love baseball - Only sport where you do not if adjusting yourself is an actual adjustment or a sign.

I'm just playing around also....Heck I even winked at you. I do like the adjustment scenario.

  3. It's a good list.  A ton of talent in the area.  I know it's a tough job to whittle down.  I'm a little surprised that Austin Sangster, Jordan Pitts, or Chad Sims were not at least Honorable Mention especially after the summers the paper said they had at the World Series.  Nederland and Dayton must be in trouble this year.  Noone talented enough to make first team. ???

Dayton is in trouble this year--no doubt about that---however Frank Smesny was overlooked--8-0 last season as Varsity pitcher--winningest 4A pitcher in Greater Houston and good enough to be a top pitcher on an elite select team--Kyle Chapman

I agree that Smesny was overlooked...I missed him myself...I would've had him at honorable mention. However, in Greater Houston 4AAAA, Hales (BH) and Thamm (BH) were both near the top in wins (11 & 10 ) , ERA (.69 & 1.59 ) , and strikeouts ( 123 & 113 ). Both were also named Honorable Mention All-State.  That's not to take anything away from Smesny, kid's a good pitcher. And yes, I admit it...I'm BH biased.  ;D

With that said, great work guys on the list. We appreciate your effoerts.

Actually, I noticed that Smesny is listed as honorable mention.

  5. I have watched this list grow over the past month and there are a lot of good players now listed. To be ALL SETX, however, takes a really exceptional player who stands out above the other many talented players in the area.  A few nominators such as Eagle 07 and Baseball 1996 have compiled a good, fair and comprehensive list. Frankly, many of these nominations are not realistic and reek of self-promotion.

Take the pitcher position for example, you really have to examine a kids abilities to consider putting him up against Hales, Fazio and Harrington, all proven winners and D-1 signees. Seriously folks, there are not 10 kids from PNG or 6 or 7 kids from several 3A schools or 9 kids from Kelly who have a legitimate chance to be listed with the best. I don't mean to call anyone individually out or pick on school but that is just the way it is.

That's well said VOP and I agree. But on the other hand, there's really nothing wrong with self-promoting the kids and your school during nominations. Besides we pay the "powers to be" good money to sort it all out.  ;D

  6. Just wanted to put my 2 cents in.

    1. Barbers Hill- Heard they had a move in that would make anything less than a state title a big, big let down.

    2. Westbrook- To much of a talent pool in Beaumont to choose from for the smaller schools in the area.

    3. Jasper- Many from the state title team returns so they should be this high until they prove otherwise.

    4. Vidor- You can call me a little biased if you want, but IMO we have the best "team" in our district.  Maybe not individual player but "team".

    5. PNG- Eric Harrington sets the tone.  And it is loud.

    6. LCM- They won district last year, but I don't think they have the pitching to repeat.

    7. Bridge City- With Matt Hicks in 3A he will be dominate.  Personally would like to see him against better competition.

    8. Nederland- Will have the best athletes as always, but just to much spring football going on over there.

    9. HF-  I see these guys suprising some people in that district.  Landry is to good of a coach to have two down years in a row.

    10. Ozen- Pitching seems to keep them in every game.  Play a little defense and you are in the hunt.

    No move-in @ BH. Just a rumor.

  7. Big crowd, big game at home and we lay a EGG.  :'( Conrads to the Eagles have to had it to them when they come out shooting lights out. Danels hit three 3s in the first quarter and came out smoking in the third. I think that Brooks had a triple double so there you goes it. Later  8)

Thanks for the update via text last night...I just noticed this morning. Tough year for you guys...keep fighting.
