5.
SWB is a wise man!!  Bottom line...The Easton Stealth is the only bat that stood out and now it's illegal and should be. Hitting with that thing was like a video game and I saw kids with the worst swing ever driving balls in the outfield. I know kids with $700.00 worth of bats that can't hit their way out of a wet paper sack cause they think it's the bat.. If you want your kid to be a good hitter and develop long term then get off of the BAT HYPE... Get him a wooden bat or at least a 2 1/4 barrel and only let him hit with that...Come game time let him grab one of those big barrels from one of those bat HYPE kids you have on your team and let him show'em how to hit with it..You'll save $$ and your kid will see the benefit..Trust me, you'll be glad you did.
I think this is the best advice.

Denny who is a freshman and new to BH schools.  His dad is the new baseball coach taking over for long-time coach Gill Staulbaum. Receivers moved from the spread to running back and a few new ones stepped in.  Defensive leadership was found in Senior Bellard, and Senior safety Morton made a name for himself on both offense and defense.  Morton brought back memories of the Mason Fisher high-flying catches many of us remember.  The defense started off a little slow, however after getting a "beating" (as Coach Gage Put it) they played very good defense and allowed very few points the next several games.  Offensively they started out rusty, but still managed to beat Nederland, and ended up with only 1 district loss and captured 2nd place in district.  Should have won their first playoff game, but turnovers and a few really bad penalties kept them down, as had happened in the Dayton game.  A 3rd and inches play-call did not help matters either, but we all wished we had something back. Overall the team exceeded expectations by most. The future is bright for Bh with 22 or 23 returning next season, with most key players returning.  There are a number of players expected to step-up in the varsity role and a lot of very young kids who are already there.  I assume the offense will gain complexity as the kids get used to the basics and we will see more pass/run balance as the kids develop.  Experience, talent, and quality coaching should take the Eagles well into the playoffs next season.  The kids have really taken to this new staff and the staff seems to really be interested in the kids.  As it often is in Region III, just depend on who you draw and who wants it more.  Exciting times on the "Ant Mound"......."Bump"........"Hill".....or whatever you want to call us.
Well said JJ....very impressed w/ what Gage has done in 1st year. Equally impressed w/ how the kids responded to new coaches and change. Where are all the outsiders that thought BH was stupid getting rid of Price ?
Gage still has not done anything Price did. So, I am still not impressed. All you gage supporters will realize the mistake you made by getting rid of a coach like coach price. That is the problem  in BH, the fans run the athletic program. What I mean by that is, the best players don'y play but players who parents have the most money plays. That will never happen over here in Jerry's Program. Thats why we will put another 54-0 Whoooooopin on the hill next year for coach Price again. I don't have time to talk about this any more. We have more important issues to deal with like kp this saturday. So tell gage to come get a seat and learn what a 21 century offense looks like and not a ice age one.
Complete rubbish.  You worry about Dayton and we'll worry about BH Good luck in the playoffs.

 10.
OK, thats great and all....but it looks like that kid is their whole offense. Granted, he's probably gonna get his, and we're probably not going to be able to completely shut him down. But if our D can limit his yardage, I think we can beat this team. I think they are gonna have a harder time stopping our O than we are stopping theirs. It might turn into a shootout, but I think we can keep pace with them. I must say this....I was really impressed with the offensive playcalling in the Dobie game. Stump was spreading it out pretty good. Some misdirection plays, and alot of mixed up pass/run plays. If that kind of playcalling carries over to the Pearland game, then WB is gonna be tough to beat. For me to be this optimistic going into a game as important as this, you know I must like our chances. ;D
Garrison is hardly Pearland's entire offense. If you focus only on shutting down the run, QB Trey Anderson will pick you apart. This should be a good high scoring game to watch. I'll have to go w/ Pearland in a close one....35-31. Lets hope for good weather.

 14. Pearland's QB, Anderson is a player also. Undersized but very very accurate w/ the football.  3 picks on the year if I'm correct. Pearland defense is...well they do not have one.

Just wanted to say congratulations to Kingwood Park and good luck to you and to Dayton in Round 2. I also wanted to correct the folks who have indicated that we were looking past KP. Nothing could be further from the truth. Our coaches learned back in '07 when we were upset in the 1st round by Austin LBJ to never look past anyone in the playoffs. They knew KP had some talent and would play hard, and so did the kids. This was just one of those games that when something could go wrong, it did.  You can't fumble the ball 4 times deep in your own territory and win against any opponent. Just too many mistakes, but I am proud of the Cubs and it says a little something about the fight in the team that they were actually still ahead with about 5 minutes left in the game. Best of luck to all the rest of the region in the playoffs, bring a title home.
typical coming from you..... classy post.
ditto.
 16. Congratulations...must be a proud day for him and his family. Great program and great school. Best of luck.

Let us know the outcome of this one, was it Crosby or BH starting it?
Crosby starts the fight; Merka fumbles the ball and BH recovers clearly with three people on it and four standing between ball and Crosby players. Crosby players attack BH from the back after whistle has been blown and play was over. BH players responded with a couple of punches thrown and helmets taken off to swing at Crosby players. 2 BH players ejected. IDK about Crosby players.
can't change spots on a leopard.
"No one cares"?????  The kids playing other sports care.  Yes, football is king in TX, and that is okay with most Texans including me.  Obviously you don't have a daughter, or a son for that matter that doesn't have the size, speed, or ability to play football.  It is all about getting kids involved in something and less idle time.  I know you don't speak for all Dayton folks with that comment.  Most parents are trying to raise good kids and being involved in sports, band, debate, etc. is essential to achieving our goals. You're letting your hate for BH cause you to make ignorant comments. SSShhhhhhhhh!
....or a son with the desire to play football.....or a son that's a southpaw.  ;)
