Its been a long time where I have seen a pitcher pitch over 165 pitches and was still effective.... great game Cody and I hope you don't have to throw that many again....
I was wondering how many he threw (I figured 130-140).  Usually good hitters after you see them 3, 4 or 5 times can figure a pitcher out, but he had good movement on his pitches.
165 pitches  ??? ??? ??? You've got to be joking. Makes no sense whatsoever. You are right about that. I know Rupp wants to win but it's not worth hurting the kids arm. That is ridiculous!! I said the same thing last year about Smesney from Dayton, good pitcher, good kid, pitched way too much now has hurt arm. It's just not worth it. Stupid if you ask me and you see it all the time.

Yep...and Smesny had Tommy John surgery yesterday. Go figure.

We hope for the best.
Frank had "Tommy John's" surgery yesterday Mar 26th--Dr. Lintner said UCL looked like mashed potatoes and not doing anything at all. He used a tendon from the hamstring and said it was very thick and strong. Surgery was very successful and now comes the rehab and a long road back.
I meant to call you last night. "JR" told me Frank had the surgery. Best of luck w/ the rehab. I'll give you a call later.
Wow, didn't relize he threw that many pitches.  I can't imagine that he will be allowed to throw many pitches again, it just isn't worth the risk of an arm injury for a non playoff win. I sure hope he get's some rest for his arm and his count is watched his next couple outings.
Unfortunately, the arm/elbow injury will come later................when he is trying to pitch in college.

Couple of things worth mentioning. - Coaches read this board - Players read this board - Current BH coaches know about coach Krug and probably know which players see him. Just saying....
what's your point ?
Simply that: -There are 50-60 kids in the BH program and most do not see coach Krug. -I would hate for there to be any animosity towards mine or any other kid by the current coaching staff for seeing coach Krug.  Not saying that would happen, but it could.  Especially after reading this thread. -Players read this board.  I think it's a bit wreckless to bash current, or tout new coaches in the program 2 weeks into disctrict play.  I'm sure there's plenty of tension in the locker room already with everyhting that's happened with the coaching staff thus far. JMO
Fair enough.  I do not think the coaches would be upset that a player was taking hitting lessons on his own time from whomever....that hasn't been my experience at least. In '07 & '08, all of the pitchers had personal pitching coaches they worked with. The coaches were aware of this and didn't get upset at least not to my knowledge. Good luck the rest of the season. BH plays at home tomorrow night ?

 8.
How's Kendal? And dont forget the HC knows pitching and nothing else, so no surprise, he probably has .300 hitters sitting on the bench!!
I'll give you a call tonight.
 9.
3-24-10   (Minus the Angelina, Navarro series)
Navarro sweeps Angelina.  4-0, 7-1 AC w/ a grand total of 5-6 hits and 1 run in 16 innings of play. Impressive.......not !  ::) ::) ::) ::)
Agree with bringtheheat....... you folks are killing me......you would think that an armed robbery had occured and shots fired.......My gosh folks take a look at the local 6:00 news only to appreciate what type of school district your children attend and be blessed it is not HISD........ You folk's need a real dose of reality. The campus police i suppose intervened because what else is it that they have to do on any given day other than respond to a possible foo dfight at the middle school?
The police showed because someone from the maintenance dept. called them about this highly felonious act is what I've been told.  ::) ::) ::) Totally blown out of proportion.

By far the best prospect in Southeast Texas. Not taking anything away from anyone, but this kid has scouts drooling.
I thought the same thing about Matt Purke. Never say never.
My only point is the kid will get a shot and he is the best in this area. Ok, he may play college ball, doubt it, but he might. He will be drafted, probably top 3, but he could still maybe, possibly play college ball. Give the kid his props!!
He may not be drafted.....it's all about signability these days.  ;)
Not if he throws like he did against College Park.  ;) Seriously, he is the real deal. The Simms kid from College Park could be drafted. Hester from Vidor could get drafted.
 14.
The Roadrunners seem to have a very strong lineup this year.  Are there any NEW rankings on them?
Not sure. AC swept Bossier on Friday to move to 3-1 in conference play. Three way tie for 1st w/ Panola and Northeast.
 15.
Sometimes kids just struggle.  What happens to the kid that is a great student and makes As and Bs but is unfortunate enough to happen to struggle and dispite his greatest efforts comes up short.  There are athletes out there that aren't just screwing around they just have a hard time.  It is unfortunate but don't always assume the "rule" just keeps the slackers off the field sometimes it keeps the ones that are doing their best they just happen to come up short, off the field too.  One rule doesn't fit all.
I agree.....especially when it comes to student/athletes taking advanced courses. You also see it happen some in the foriegn language classes. I think it is a great rule that does , for the most part, what it was intended to do. JMO.

(6) Sun Devils on Rawlings All-Regional Teams: 1st team (9) 2nd team (2) 3rd team (0) Hon. Men. (3)
Very impressive.

Sure would like to talk some baseball.
 18. thanks for the update. What's up with navarro this year ? Check your PMs.
 19. wasn't this game Simms vs. Taillon..... score sure doesn't look like it.
 20. Crosby should be very solid this year. Very impressed w/ thier junior right-hander, Grabyski( ???? ).
 21.
LaMarque backed out of tournament so they went to a round robin instead which has convoluted the bracket.  I believe Dayton beat Coldspring yesterday.  Crosby is playing King now.
LaMarque has backed out before...why keep inviting them ? You gain absolutely nothing by playing them in baseball anyway.
 22. Josh Clark update.. just read on the tournament thread that he has hit 3 hr's in the 1st game. Nice job !
