They won't "fall further behind..."
I think their numbers in the district are growing. May be several years before that growth hits the high school. Until that time, they will struggle with depth issues.
You are correct. Two years ago BH was the 2nd fastest growing district in the state....behind Pearland. But I agree, it will be a few years before most of this growth is seen in the high schools.

BH fans  I mean no disrespect towards your kids or program.......
None taken...I agree w/ you 100%. Matter of fact the numbers he posted goes against what he is debating.
I was at the dayton game this year and over half of their starting skill players are on par or better athlete-wise than our best 3 athletes...
i went to nine bh games this year and none of their losses were because they were out-matched physically. they were out-coached.
bh vs. png #1 total offense: bh 320yds      png 240yds ints  bh 4 fumbles lost 2 bh vs. png #2 total offense bh 223yds      png 340yds ints bh 2 bh vs. dayton total offense bh 318yds      dayton 380 yds how can you say they were so outmatched physically by either team? bh has no d1 players...neither does dayton or png...
Your numbers show that BH played good...maybe from good coaching, maybe not. Those numbers have nothing to do with physical size matchups. I can promise you BH was not even close to matching up w/ PNG size-wise.

 14. Maybe I'm stupid ( quite likely ) but doesn't this thing show Brenham w/ a better SOS, national PR, and RPI than PNG but yet the check marks go to the Indians in all three categories.  ???

If our board doesn't hire a great coach, and we get a guy in here that goes 5-5 the next three or four years, or who gets beat in the first round of the playoffs every time. I will be on here throwing it back in your face. See what I'm expecting with all the great talent we have, is a State Championship for the next three years. It wasn't exceptable for Price to go one or two rounds seven out of ten years, so the bar is set very high for the next guy.
I'm sorry before I even start but you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. The Hill has a lot of mediocre athletes that mommy and daddy think are at least small D1 material and the honest truth is that I can think of maybe 5 since 1995 that would be D1 football players possibly. And thats not a hit on the kids at all. Cause they work their butts of and have for years to be better than teams that out-athlete them. But the truth is that they are not all that naturally talented and never really have been. And when you are playing in District you face teams that are good and bad. But when you get to the playoffs... everyone is good. So natural athletes start to play a much bigger role. And when a team like the Hill who is and has been very fundamentally sound and hard working but just mediocre athlete-wise and they get to the playoffs and play a team like we have in the past (Kirbyville, Central, PNG, etc.) who is also fundamentally sounds but has one or two big name players that are naturally great athletes it is the deciding factor. Barbers Hill in the last 10 years has not had the Athlete-pool do go any further than one or two rounds. That has nothing to do with coaching and it will remain that way with the next coach unless he brings some phenomenal athlete to town with him.
This is the truth Barbers Hill fans don't want to hear... As someone who has seen all the talent that is feeding up to Barbers Hill from Junior High (by watching them play at Dayton), there are two groups that do have talent, the current 9th graders and 7th graders are GOOD!, but... not good enough to beat Dayton, which is one of the best 4A football programs in the region. Forecast for Barbers Hill over the next half decade is they will have a team good enough to post winning records and maybe win a playoff game here or there, but a region III championship trophy (winning quarter finals) is probably not in the opting considering NONE of their teams beat Dayton this year (except for the last round of junior high games (8th A beat Dayton)). IMO... Coach Price was a good coach and got all he could out of what he was given. If the people in Barbers Hill think they can win the Kentucky derby riding a mule more power to them, but it is setting up the new coach for failure.
Purple...that's got to your worst post ever. Period. First of all, the "Price situation" doesn't really have much to do w/ W's and L's. Secondly, BH wins at baseball, softball, volleyball, golf, etc. but doesn't have any athletes  ??? BH has to work harder at football because they have no depth....being one of the smallest 4A schools in the state.

With that said, if we get a guy that does great with our program and improves it. I'll be on here saying how wrong I was about Price, and it was time for him to go and all of you were correct. If we are kicking tail I'll be happy to eat (you know what) everyday...I'd love that. I guess you can tell I don't have ANY confidence that I'll have to do that. I hope and pray, that I get to eat all of my words...I mean it, I really want to eat them. I'm not one, that just because a coach I like is leaving I want the program to go down...I'm afraid of exactly that.
So what exactly are you trying to say  ??? ??? You're hungry ?
 19.
I agree and have always said, Price did what appears to be a great job securing money for facilities.  Wish him luck and he should not have trouble finding a job.  I figure he would retire with his wife somewhere in the hill country.  She can practice law anywhere. As for a new coach, I agree and hope we go outside and do our due dilligence to find the best candidate for the job.  That's coming from someone who is about as BH as it comes, from a relative and historical family tree standpoint.  I want to be able and sit in the stands, win or lose know the coach is doing the best he can to lead the boys on and off the field.  The respect and sportsmanship everyone credits Price for is something kids who live in BH learn long before they reach high school.  That has always been the case, at least since we beat a team by 90 or more points long ago. Like it or not, this is the right decision for BH due to many reasons.  This decision had very little to do with X's and O's or wins and losses.  There are politics everywhere, especially in a high profile job.
Not a knock on Price but you are absolutely correct on that one.
 20.

They need a real 4A visitors section first. Hopefully if they do get turf, they will expand the visitor section at the same time. Of course for all BH fans, if they want to know what a real 4A football facility looks like, along with real 4A football program (one of the best in Region III), they just have a little drive north on HWY 146 (about 10 miles from the county line) to see it.  ;D
The only reason Dayton has such a nice field and stands is thanks to CMC railyard and all the taxes paid by them. So if not for them Dayton would still be on the old crappy field. So don't brag too much
Not hardly....BH has plenty of corporate tax dollars. You may need to do a little more research.  ;)

 22.
Whoever he is, I hope he really has some thick skin. I thought Price did a good job with what he had. Winning in 4A is a lot different than succeeding in 3A. I always thought the kids at Barbers Hill (from 7th to 12th) gave 110% effort and displayed excellent sportsmanship. Good Luck to Barbers Hill on their search, I would bet there is a lot of politics to be had in this decision.
Ya think.
 23.
I dont know why he did it though, next 2-3 years should be better than the previous. Makes the next HC job a bit easier. I think they should go outside the area to bring in a fresh perspective.
Not exactly how it went down.
