  1. In this quote lies the problem! way to support your program TEL.... could this mentality be filtering down to the Kids?? if they are doing what you say; putting their heads down when the first time it goes bad, saying they can't beat them, and then blaming the coach? this is the same mentality of the above statement.!!!! Is this what you want to teach our kids? If it is going to be tough, quit and don't worry about it and blame someone else????? Victory happens in the mind first......Instilling disbelief will crush a team, on and off the field. My suggestion is shut your mouth unless you have something positive to say especially about your home town!!!!! Wow...that seems a little overboard. :
  2. The Chronicle seems to have some problems every year. Thanks for checking on the stats. The Viverrette has come a long way in a short time........playing some good football. He's also a great kid.
  3. The Houston Chronicle is wrong NO WAY ! ;D Thanks for the update.
  4. And then they don't play until Friday ? Gotta keep those Yankees happy. : :
  5. I agree. Very impressive is the 11 td's against only 2 picks. Viverrette from BH ( converted DB ) @ a combined 1745 yds, 16 tds ,and 7 picks...not too shabby. Some good QB play in 19-4A.
  6. I'm trying to track down the stats for Barbers Hill QB, Matthew Viverrette(?). This kid has put up some excellent numbers. Try : www.chron.com . 12. Spoken like someone who knows that Dayton is gonna kick the crap out of them in a few weeks. BH should spend all of their time focusing on Dayton. The rest of 19-4A is just trash. No one can accuse Ranger83 of being shy ! I think I'm starting to like the guy. He seems to to fit right in with the mudslinging! Hey, I heard rumored that Dayton AND Barbers Hill are going back to 20-4A. Anyone have any insight? Ranger, is a slinger alright :
  13. Gotcha. I was wondering...I mean this thread is what at least 2 years old.
  14. As an official 'naysayer', the LM/NS was an anomoly because NS was probably looking past LM to SLC which they dominated. Yes LM did score 33 points on the Shore but haven't done much else. Neither PAM nor WB will break 10 points on the Shore...... I have to agree. I don't see this being close at all. NS 41 PAM 14
  15. OK. I don't know what in the h-e-double hockey sticks you just said! I think he's a Barbers Hill move-in........for English and grammar. ;D just kidding.
  16. We're rubber, you're glue. Whatever you say bounces off us and sticks to you! :-* Sticks and stones may br...never mind GO EAGLES ! ;D
  17. Overrate verb overestimate, glorify, overvalue, oversell, make too much of, rate too highly, assess too highly, overpraise, exaggerate the worth of, overprize, think or expect too much of, think too highly of, attach to much importance to Let me use the word in a sentence for you: Barbers Hill football is overrated. Are we ranked in any polls? Not to my knowledge( maybe there is a poll that I haven't seen yet) so how are we over rated? Is it because we've won a few games? Or is it because some us get on this forum and try to sell our team, all in good fun. I don't think any of us here at the Hill, that are SERIOUS fans, think that we have a powerhouse football team. What we have, is a great group of kids that are working their butts off, they want to win and they are playing as a team. I don't think any of us, have some idealistic view, that our team has turned into some kind of football gods. So again, how are we over rated? If we were ranked in the top 10, then I'd say yes, we may be overrated...as far as I know, that isn't the case. I'll take our hardworking, over achieving, good attitude kids, over super talented jerks any day...even if we never win a State Championship again. Actually, I did see Barbers Hill ranked #1 in the latest Mt. Belvieu poll that came this morning. ;D How did the horses get though all that mud this morning? Very carefully.

I should have used the term Narcissism. Excessive preoccupation with self and lack of empathy for others. Narcissism is the personality trait that features an exaggerated sense of the person's own importance and abilities. People with this trait believe themselves to be uniquely gifted and commonly engage in fantasies of fabulous success, power, or fame. Arrogant and egotistical, narcissistics are often snobs, defining themselves by their ability to associate with (or purchase the services of) the "best" people. They expect special treatment and concessions from others. Paradoxically, these individuals are generally insecure and have low self-esteem. They require considerable admiration from others and find it difficult to cope with criticism. Adversity or criticism may cause the narcissistic person to either counterattack in anger or withdraw socially. Because narcissistic individuals cannot cope with setbacks or failure, they often avoid risks and situations in which defeat is a possibility. Another common characteristic of narcissistic individuals is envy and the expectation that others are envious as well. The self-aggrandizement and self-absorption of narcissistic individuals is accompanied by a pronounced lack of interest in and empathy for others. They expect people to be devoted to them but have no impulse to reciprocate, being unable to identify with the feelings of others or anticipate their needs. Narcissistic people often enter into relationships based on what other people can do for them. Oh crap ! I'm a narcissist . ;D Oh well, no longer in denial.
