  1. Not sure but I would imagine they are. This tourney and the fall tournament in Jupiter are two of the biggest and best.
  2. Wow..I would have loved watching that one. Great job SunDevils...keep it up !
  3. I'll have to go w/ Bullets. I'd think 3.5 more years would put Roy in the 180-185 range.....and that's w/o injury. I hope he can last long enough to collect # 200.
  4. Two winners there. Good stuff.
  5. That statement is the equivalent of a 3rd grader saying, "I can't beat you up but I know someone who can." Come on man, I hope the district is more competitive this year too. But, you saying the Broncos are not as good doesn't make it so. Just like Bronco fans saying they are going to be good doesn't make it so. By the time we play BH everyone will know what the Broncos are about. ;D ;D ;D Sounded like something an Aggie would say when the Horns lose a game to someone that already destroyed the Ags.
  6. I can chaperone ;D Kevin I don't know if I could trust you. Of course you could. :
  7. What is..."OU sucks perpetually for $1000, Alex ???
  8. Again AJ25 nails it on the head...this kid is in the know. D3 go to Richland. I do know that Galveston has a requirement that the HC must have a Master's degree....which impressed me. "College at the beach ", got to be worth something.
  9. I remember Perkins when BH played against him. Great player that played w/ class. Best of luck.
  10. Bossier is basically Shreveport, La. Play in a minor league stadium that's pretty nice. Was or is home of the Shreveport Captains, I believe. Play in Region 14 East Zone w/ Angelina, Paris, Panola, Texarkana, NorthEast Texas, Navarro, and Lon Morris. As AJ25 noted, very strong competition in Reg. 14. South Zone is San Jac, Blinn, Alvin, Laredo, Galveston, and Wharton. Bossier usually finishes in the bottom 1/2. However, last year's team was in the hunt until the final week of conference play. From the 3 games I saw them play last year, they seemed to be very well coached. Word was that several players were dismissed late in the season for failing drug tests. The remaining players had no quit in them...as I witnessed 1st hand when they beat Angelina w/ their top pitcher on the mound. Not sure what options you may have, but IMO, not a bad place to play. Region 14 draws many MLB scouts and D1 recruiters. My 2 cents.
  11. To the person that created the team, it is a business for them. They created the team. You look at the owners of the teams like Houston Heat, Texas Sundevils, etc... They will make profit off of it. That's not to say that they shouldn't be coaching and working for their money. Coming from experience, if your kid is good enough, it's worth paying a little extra to have your kid on a more solidified team. Not a team that some parent on your kids little league team from last year decided they would start. Not that they don't know baseball or how to run a program, but they do not have the experience/knowledge of these coaches from the more solid programs. I can only speak for the SE Texas Sun Devils but I promise you that there is not a profit made of of it. Indeed, it is operated at a substantial loss every year...but, as they say, when 1 of your guys gets drafted or signs a scholarship -- 'priceless'. As far as if/when to go select, I personally believe that league play thru Little League is the way to go. You get the chance to play the game, in your own backyard, with your own friends, etc. If you want to do more for your kid up to age 12, get him (or her) lessons. After that, select becomes an option. It takes the right kid (committed, etc.) and the right parents. By the same token, once you get in that age group (and if you don't want travel ball), the Babe Ruth League down in Mid County is outstanding. They do a great job year in and year out. Select worked for me and my son. Baseball was what he wanted...but, if you ask him, he wouldn't trade his Little League years for anything. It is simply a matter of the right kid at the right time. That about sums it all up. Excellent post, MIF.
  12. hampton has really surprised me this year. He has put up some quality numbers lately.
  13. Sorry my good friend but its East Cobb Yeah, I caught that after re-reading....toooooo lazy to go back and change it....sad. Give me a shout.
  14. I believe the SETX SunDevils are at the World Wood Bat tourney in East Kalb, Georgia....outside of Atlanta. Great group to play with and an amazing tournament. Scouts and recruiters are everywhere.
  15. and Hamilton should be back soon. Made rehab start yesterday.
