I was on Third Base LOL probably didn't get much air time . Just got in form Austin, When we left the temp was 102 hot hot hot... Mr Ump from the looks of it both teams seem like they were nothing short of class. Saw many of the kids praying after the game and from the looks of it Coaches were good people. Great game and both teams represented their skewls well. I have had the Lufkin Coach before and he has always been very easy to get along with. El Paso was also very well mannered. I have said this for quite a few years now, the teams that come to the ball park with only playing baseball, not worrying about the umpires, or letting a few called pitches get under their skin, are the ones there at the end. Talent and staying focused on what your there for is the right way to go about it. Very well said. Nice job out there Mr Ump.

What a game ! I talked w/ a friend of mine from Lufkin who was at the game. He said it was incredible. Lufkin had a runner thrown out at home by the centerfielder in the bottom of the 10th. Then to win it on a walk-off HR for a shot at the 'ship. Lufkin starter Chase Greenig, who has signed w/ Angelina pitched 8 innings.

Texas High put up 7 runs in the 2nd inning against Brenham. Slade Heathcott ( 1st round pick #29 overall by NY Mets) w/ a 3-run triple. In the 3rd, Texas High 7, Brenham 1.

Lord knows they need help everyplace...... What do ya'll know about the kid the Rangers drafted with their #1 pick. A southpaw out of Klein HS. Purke is the real deal. He was projected at one point to be the #4 pick. Signability issues had him dropping to the Yankess at #29. I had assumed the Rangers had some kind of deal in place...however, I just saw a story where he is asking for $7 mil. He has a commitment w/ TCU. If he doesn't sign w/ the Rangers he will end up at Angelina Junior College. He is originally from Lufkin where he has worked w/ Angelina head coach/pitching coach, Jeff Livin for years. Fastball touches 96, great curveball, very smooth, efficient delivery. Very polished for a high school pitcher.
