  1. #1 BH-Staubaum - 300 wins GCM- Rupp - 600 wins in baseball coaching career Crosby- Thompson- 3rd or 4th year as a head coach C E King- Gates - 2nd year as a head coach KP- Thames- not sure, but his young teams have made the playoffs their first two yrs in existence Dayton- not sure of the coach, I think it's his first year at Dayton GP- ? NF- ? So I am not sure about the edge in coaching. #2 I really feel that the Golden Triangle has a better developed youth baseball program. (Not too sure about baseball being #1 sport in any area of Texas.) In Baytown alone, we have 4 separate Little Leagues: North, Central, West and East. This does not include Highlands Little League that now feeds only GCM. I agree totally about GT having the better developed youth program. I also believe that some of it has to due w/ school size and employment. The GT area has lost employment the last few years at many of the chemical plants. As a result the schools have not grown in recent years...for the most part. On the other hand, BH is one of the fastest growing school districts in the state. Two schools in 19-4A are new (KP and GC) another result of growing population and more kids that will try out for sports. Huffman did drop to 3A...mostly a result of the Atasociata (? ) school opening. Huffman will move back up quickly. Over time the growing school districts will show an increase in athletic performance simply by having more kids to choose from. BTW, Gil Staubam @ BH has just over 400 wins. 100 more reasons it's not the coaching. Totally agree with the growth in the areas. I have been amazed that the GT area schools have been able to stay in 4A for so long. I really feel that GCCISD made a HUGE mistake in building a 3rd high school. It has only watered down our athletics. RSS has done well in a 6 team district, but they will feel the pain in about 2 yrs or so. REL will more than likely move down to 4A in 2010 and GCM will move to 5A. Hey Ranger83....are you going to catch any playoff game tonight ?
  2. And there you have it. Lakers win in 7......great series for ratings. The NBA gods are happy because 'the plan" is still in place....Kobe vs. LeBron. Great effort by the banged up Rockets !

  4. Thanks for the support, TEL. You are correct, Roberts is the real deal. I've been told that he has already verbaled to Arkansas. Did your son play on the Houston Heat ? Mine is a former BH pitcher ('07) and Houston Heat guy.
  5. Wo Nellie...slow your roll CubFan12 ;D ETBU is the only one calling Brenham overated...heck he's a Huffman Falcon. BH respects the Cubs...trust me. I too hate one game series. I think this should be a good game. Save me a seat. I'll give you a shout after lunch. GO EAGLES !
  6. Thanks for the positives. Vidor was a very worthy opponet. We will try to keep the loud ones under control I know you guys will be tough for the next few years Vidor has been a very worthy opponent for a few years now. "07 Pirates gave a BH team that was a pre-season state finalist pick in many polls....all they wanted. They did it with sound baseball and class....players, coaches, and fans. I've been a closet Pirate ever since. Pirate team is very young this year...very. Best of luck and best to Trae w/ a full recovery. thanks eagle :-) same to yall, and best of luck in the playoffs, i might be able to make it to 1 of yall's games in the next round, and if i do i'll break out the blue shirt 8) 8) 8)

  8. I would call it a triple with a throwing error that allowed the runner to come home. Funny thing about that, Leger had called time to talk to the pitcher and the kid coming up to bat was just kinda shaking his head and grinning. I ask him, " ever had this dream? Bases loaded 2 outs tight game?" He just smiled and said yep. Ended up it worked out for him. Game could have gone either way. "Yep"...great answer. One of the magical things about baseball.
  9. No doubt, I agree. Spoke w/ his Dad last night, Trae is coming along.
  10. Let's try this.. '06-07 Round 1 BH over Vidor in 3 Huffman over PNG in 2 New Caney and I believe LCM with byes. '06-07 Round 2 Bay City over LCM in 2 '06-07 Round 3 BH over Bay City in 2 BH loses in Regional quarterfinals '07-08 Round 1 BH and PNG w/ byes Galena Park over Vidor in 2 LCM over Huffman in 3 PNG w/ Harrington advances to Regional quarterfinals or semi-finals.
  11. What were the 2007 & 2008 results in round one ??? Just curious ??? That would be nice to know, being that our school (GCM) was not even in existence last year. Barbers Hill has been in 4A for how long? 2-3 years? Don't compare apples to oranges. Easy Ranger...I'm defending 19-4A. This is Barbers Hill 3rd year in 4A . Since that time the 20-4A superior to 19-4A statement doesn't hold water.
  12. Maybe before BH moved up to 4A. What were the 2007 & 2008 results in round one ??? Just curious ???
  13. I agree, a couple of blowouts hardly constitute a shift of power...... Where was all of these 19-4A vs. 20-4A talk in 2007 ?
  14. If that's true, they should be ashamed! Found out it is true and your right, they should be ashamed! Unbelievable. :o
  15. That's no good. :'( Give me a shout tonight.
  16. You might be too late. You can try Ray van Kuren who runs the Saints organization in Houston. 281-948-5721. The Houston Heat have already had tryouts. You may try Doc Planty with the Baytown Knights or Chuck McElroy w/ the Houston Sluggers. Send me a PM.....
  17. agree... hence the rolly eyes. Sarcasm is lost on many on these boards. so true.
  18. Ross Hales---Barbers Hill 2008, Texas A&M will be drafted Kendall Thamm--Barbers Hill 2008, Angelina College will be drafted Hunter Silva--Barbers Hill 2008, San Jac will be drafted
  19. I think maybe that was "tongue-in-cheek".
