If he or she can "play" they would be better off in the largest school in the largest market with the best coach. We made a mistake with our daughter by not taking an opportunity for her to play for a private school. She played 2A and ended up going Juco.

There are several on y'alls top 10 that will not be there at the end. They were the supporting cast for some great players. J'Covan Brown, Tramain Thomas, Joseph and Jacoby will be there, the other six are yet to be determined. From what I saw this summer look for some real suprises in AAA and AA.

Great Advice. I would always have this meeting, put the rules and expectations on paper and pass them out. The biggest headache are parents, if the team consist of new players you need to get a grip on the parents quick. If most of the players have played before they should know what to expect. This does put you the "new" guy in the limelight, that's where experienced assistants will help. Thanks for volunteering and wanting to do a good job, we need more like you in all the sports.

Paul and Matt are probalbly the two purist shooters in the area. Paul shoots around 40% from beyond the arc. Matt is deadly 12ft and in and can shoot over most anyone. There are some better scorers (Thomas,Brown etc.) around but give these two a shot and it done. I must add Copeland in the shooters mix as well. Being from a small school does limit their exposure However, being in the district with Kountze and EC will help with that. Last year Kountze had 4 move on to the next level, pretty good I'd say. FYI ,Paul and Matt are graduates of the Leland Hand shooters school.

Have rules and stick to them. And yes, an experienced assistant coach.

Seems like we just had this conversation on the softball side. There are only a dozen teams in the USA that have this problem. If I were the coach and my kids were on one of the teams I would be celebrating their success and doing whatever to support them. Obviously they are great athletes and could catch up with the rest of the football team fast. Yes, they would have makeup, not as a punishment, just to equalize teamwork. This coach is wanting the conflict and I'm sure he will get it.

I thought Tarkington wasn't bad, They were a lot bigger than Warren. Should be interresting. I'll say Tarkington by 1

Early in the playoffs. I would be suprised if they went past the second round. They will have a war for 2nd and 3rd in district. And I'll pay to watch.

Well, HJhawk, losing Donahoe was a lick but and losing the big guy didn't help either. But I do believe you guys will be a better TEAM, will win out in district and do well in the playoffs. Don't know about the Drum, jury's still out on that. Sutherland has some work to do with the pg and team building.

Big Sandy! This is a real good team. Not many 2A's will beat them. They could very well get past regionals.

HJ has had a couple of senior move-ins and re-admits that will make them just about as good as they were last year.

BS should go far in the playoffs. Spurger and HD will struggle early.

You make me feel old. I remember Carla and Audrey. Audrey seemed to be the worse untill MS.RITA came along. We have not recovered from Rita here in Tyler County yet. The county has yet to recieve the grant money for Rita recovery. We don't need another one for a while.

Carter won most of his more than 500 wins at 1A Brookland and 1A Spurger. Remember when BS couldn't get past them in the playoffs. Like Foster, Carter had the advantage of no football to consume all the time and money. No disrespect to Foster, I think he is an excellent coach and could coach at most any level. I am a BS fan as well. But, he is not yet in the Sutherland, Carter and Joubert class. He will get there I'm sure, just not yet. How many wins and rings does he have?

I had (have) many question about our Warren team this year. We lost a great running game and just didn't know how we could recover from the loss of Esway. I was really pleasantly suprised Saturday. We do not have the dominant back but but some young guys have stepped up. And we should be much better in the air. IF the QB's can get the passes off a bit quicker we have some real speed in the recievers. The best news, is our Defense is better. Down side, not many out there, many playing both ways, and they better be in shape.

Warren and Tarkington tied 1-1, called due to lightning. I was pleased with Warren's effort. Tarkington was much larger with lots of folks.
