Two of our former coaches have coached at the college level. Leland Hand (ETBU) and David Mckee (Lamar). A good coach is a good coach at any level. As previously stated there are some differences but a knowledgeable coach who will work hard can adjust and be successful anywhere.

Don't know about 3A but there is a difference in money in most 1A or 2A schools. But I'll tell you the problems in 5A are not worth it. Give me the small school and sanity thanks.

Yea, I wouldn't worry about Warren this year. They are terrible, no size, no speed, no tallent and lost all of their players. ;D

We had a coach that after a bad call, called the umpire over for a conversation, all we could see was the coach talking with a big smile on his face in a very calm manner. After a second the umpire goes nuts and throws the coach out. I ask the coach the next day what he had said that so upset the ump. Coach responded that he simpley told the ump to "go have sex with his self and he took it badly". He never used a cuss word but got his message across. I laughed for a week.

C'mon man, you let the ending out.

We played both Big Sandy and Sabine Pass last year and there was no comparison. We played Big Sandy this summer and folks they are the real deal. Unless Sabine Pass had the Memoral players move in I really don't see a contest. Big Sandy will be able to play with most 2A and many 3A teams this year. We split with BS and hope to get another game with them this coming season.

I think Warren should be in the mystery category as well. They lost their back but have much more speed across the board than last year. Just don't know yet. After EC it gets real sticky. Gonna be a fun district to watch.

Let me see if I can clear it up for you. Anyone who cusses doesn't have my respect. And I would not want them to be my son's role model. Just because a sport is more physical than another doesn't justify vulger language. And if you think the girls sports are not violent, they are much more intense than the boys. Ask any basketball official who has called boys and girls games? You can't argue with ignorance so this is the end of this post for me.

Lets see: everyone does it, it's the way we commmunicate nowadays, it's a rough sport so it's o'kay. It's reality. Is this a serious post or a conversation with my 13 year old? My wife is a coach and SHE would never utter a cuss word. She has respect, loyality and is an excellent role model. Our coaches need to be building character and ,really, is cussing a part of that? There may be a time for a well placed damm or heck, but more vulger words are never needed. And if used consistantly they become ineffective. I, personally, believe there is a difference between vulger language and crude language: one shows a lack of character the other shows ignorance.

There is no reason to cuss. You can accomplish the same thing without "vulger" language. Yes it is very commonplace on the field and sideline but the great ones can do the job without it. Of course, my idea of cussing and someone elses will be different. Just ask my wife.

Congratulation to Coach Wueller. Having a coach that is as active and dedicated is a good thing. He will do well, give him some time and space.

I'm going to stick my neck out on this one and HJ will win district. They have some new folks that are going to fill the gaps. Having said that, Silsbee is going to have a great team and give HJ all they can handle. I hope I have the opportunity to see their wars.

I thought Netherely should have been the MVP.

We will try an extra point or field goal and haven't made one all year long, With the districts leading runner on the bench. go figure.
