The main coach of Team Sneed plays basketball professionally overseas so I am more than positive that he knows more about basketball than you Dick Vitale. -

@Dick Vitale, apparantly the AAU coaches know more about basketball then you do. That is painfully obvious. The kids on my nephew's team mostly play for Ozen. -

Sometimes coach Sutherland would not insert him right back in the game. He would sit for a while.. At HJ 15, I don't think Zjori is the best one on the team. Shawn is hands down. You are right Zjori played injured most of the year. Maybe I should have made my comments more general, but I was pissed off at the time and hindsight is 20/20. I asked the moderator to delete my comments, but people kept responding with inaccurate information so I felt compelled to defend myself. In no way am I jealous of Devante, in my opinion my nephew is better then he is and he shouldve been on the team -

For the guy who said he probably won't make it in beaumont I need to give you a little info. My nephew plays with a team in the summer comprised of mostly Ozen players. He starts. I have had people tell me that he (my nephew) might even be better then Shawn when is a Senior. They know basketball. -

at Dick vitale. You still did NOT answer my question. How is it okay for someone to constantly take ill advised shots? He is a good player but he needs to learn the difference between a high percentage and a low percentage shot. It is NOT just my estimation, numerous fans have the same complaints about him so your theory is shot. Coach Sutherland has pulled him out of games after ill advised shots and dug in his butt so it couldn't be okay with him. Stop making excuses and answer my question directly. Do you think that it is okay for a basketball player to continually take ill advised shots? It is not smart especially when you are getting pulled out of the game for doing it. It seems like a no brainer to me. -

I have a picture of Coach sutherland digging in his butt after a horrible shot so I am more than postive that he was NOT okay with his shot selection. LOL -

I have seen the coach pull him out of several games and put him on the bench after a bad shot ; as well as, fuss at him so it is obvious that the coach was not okay with all of his shot selections. -

Again noone can explain why it is okay to take ill advised shots and how it is okay to have a shoot first mentality irregardless of what the defense is doing.. If it was just me complaining I would reexamine my viewpoint, but I have heard a whole lot of people complain about the same thing. I guess we are all wrong. I nephew was not the stud on the team Shawn was. He is my cousin and it runs in the family. I just want my nephew to get a fair shot. period point blank. I want him to get what he deserves. Why can't anyone answer my question. -

Yet noone can explain to me how it is wise to take ill advised shots and how it is good to have a shoot first mentality irregardless of what the defense is doing. I would love for someone with basketball knowledge to explain it to me without making excuses. -

As i said earlier, i have always had a problem with the way he plays. I am not the only one ,i heard people complaining all of the time. I have told the coach that he is frustrating to watch. I also said that they would not win state even when they were ranked #1 if players continued to play selfishly. I was right. -

I am done with this conversation . You guys are idiots. Having a shoot first mentality irregardless of what the defense is doing is just plain stupid.... You don't know how my nephew will fair at others schools he is 6'5 and he can play the point. There are coaches inquiring about him. Idon't really care how you feel about my approach, if you don't like it then don't read the post. It is so discouraging trying to have a conversation with ignorant people. We will see how the shoot first mentality will play out for some of the area players in the end. If I was a college scout I would not want a kid who constantly shoots ill advised shots. -

So what you guys are saying is it is perfectly okay to shoot with 3 people guarding you ( of course he missed the shot), to shoot multiple shots about 5 feet behind the 3 point line ( he missed them). Are you saying that it is acceptable to go behind your back with two people on you (they stole the ball)? That is NOT what I consider playing smart. basketball. Those types of plays disrupt the whole flow of the game. How distracting is it when a player from your team has to walk over to you and tell you that you need to pass the ball more? ( he didn't). I have seen this occur at many games. Again he needs to take higher percentage shots. -

@Dick Vitale, what is so hard for you to understand. It is NOT wise to shoot with 3 people on you when you have 3 players that are open asking for the ball. Dribbling the ball behind your back when you are guarded by 2 people is not wise. I have seen him do things like that alot. My husband was watching a game that was being streamed live and he got so frustrated with his shot selection he stopped watching the game. Surely it is not in the coach's game plan to have someone taking wild shots. I am sure that Coach Sutherland understands that taking a high percentage shot is the best way to go. -

I have seen Coach Sutherland pull him out of games after he has taken some pretty bad shots. So maybe he does have a problem with it. -

He needs to pass the ball to anyone who is open. It is foolish to shoot a shot with 3 people guarding you or to drive to the basket when there is someone 6'3 standing in the lane because they are in a zone defense. As a result the ball is blocked (duh common sense). Taking 3 pointers 5 feet behind the 3 point arc is also not wise. This type of play disrupts the whole flow of the game. One should learn when to shoot and when to pass. The goal should be to take high percentage shots. -

I feel that making All-Region will only encourage him to keep shooting bad shots which will ultimately hurt the team. What is the point of my nephew being on the team if he won't touch the ball due to someone taking ill advised shots? -

I have nothing personally against him, because he is a kid. I don't approve of his game. I don't like players who have a shoot first mentality as I feel it is a detriment to the team.. I feel that he is good, but his shot selection is awful. I, as well as others , in the stands have been very frustrated with some of the shots he has taken in games. I hear people yell all the time for him to "pass the ball". -

I never made any predictions about anyone starting or not starting because I am not familiar with anyone on the freshman or JV team. But don't worry, if people leave I am sure Devante is staying and he is more than able to carry the whole team on his shoulders. He alone can help them advance in the playoffs irregardless of who he is playing with. -

@dick, you don't know what you are talking about. Maybe you should go back and reread my post. I know college recruiters don't care about the accolades, I stated that in my post. I said that I am glad that they know what to look for in a player as opposed to merely looking at PPG.. FT percentages, assists, FG percentages, PPG, as well as a player's intellectual understanding of the game is important. I don't have a warped reality in regards to my nephew, I played collegiate basketball so I understand what recruiters look for, that is what gives me comfort in this situation. I understand the game from an intellectual standpoint and I adhere to my earlier statements. My nephew should be on the All-region team. I am a woman not a man so I can't understand why you keep calling me Mr Bosha. Bosha is not my last name... As far as the theroy that my post will cause strife between players on the same team I can assure you that it won't be a problem, because the two aforementioned players will more then likely NOT be playing for the same team. next year, so you guys can be at ease in regards to that matter.
