What??? Boutte has 3 titles...what does that have to do with anything? Just asking for clarity in your statement..

I'm talking about how those 3 wins DEFINE that coach's legacy in some people's eyes, when he's clearly had bigger victories. ..

Dunk count should be turned off against certain opponents....Its like beating your 5 year old little brother in the driveway, then pounding your chest about it! LOL

It still amazes me that beating a team in district play twice and again in a tourney becomes that program's GREATEST accomplishment....Imagine if Ozen celebrated beating a team three times ONCE, in a particular season, and never beating them again until 5 years later, would look to others...Pretty crazy, huh? Just a thought.

First off, Nederland's Brian English is an OUTSTANDING basketball coach, and probably an even better PERSON. If you say that what he has done in Vidor and Nederland is anything less than amazing, you do not know anything about the game, and that is OK, because even those that THINK they do, DON'T. He has single handedly taken a cellar dweller basketball program at Nederland and turned them into a LEGIT threat to beat everyone in the district, every year, no matter who he has...THATS coaching....NOW, with that said, you cannot take anything away from the coaches who have succeeded in the playoffs, and have won state championships, NO MATTER HOW MUCH TALENT you "THINK" they may have had. Talented teams get outcoached and beaten ALL THE TIME in the playoffs, so please kill the "they have talent" excuses. Todd Sutherland is an OUTSTANDING basketball coach...You cannot take that away from him just because he happened to coach at talent rich, traditional basketball powerhouses like Kountze, EC, and HJ, so WHY is the first thing that comes out of guys mouths when it comes to Boutte, is "I'd like to see what he does with such and such team without talent"? That's CRAZY! Just give these coaches credit where its due...Head to head wins do not ALWAYS equate to one coach being better than the other either! Would you take Central's rookie head coach over Brian English? I don't think so...But you have to see the overall body of work of these coaches to properly evaluate them, and the majority of people on this board are not qualified to properly evaluate ANY coach. Who is the GREATEST coach in SE Texas? I have my opinion, and everyone is entitled to that. But please remember to give proper credit where it is due no matter WHO you are pulling for, and you are likely to make a more accurate assessment of these guys abilities, even though it won't matter one bit at the end of the day what you think anyway! Just my two cents...

NO. Vidor beat Ozen twice in district and again in the Nederland Tournament in 2004 AFTER Kendrick graduated.....and Ozen won the district title...again....Stop it..please...SMH

Let me know if I may be of assistance....I have never seen the kid play, and have barely heard of him. What school does he play for? What is his natural position? Stats? Grades? Class rank? Summer ball program? See how this stuff goes, people? Its not rocket science, but kids that can play come a dime a dozen to coaches on the Division I level...However, kids that are talented enough to play at the next level, CAN be placed at a college or university SOMEWHERE, FOR FREE...My guys (college coaches that I know) trust my assessments of players and ask me about guys around here ALL OF THE TIME. San Jacinto JC coach called me while he was in town yesterday playing Lamar State, for example, and asked me if I knew any "sleepers" in the area...Not name dropping, but letting you guys know, that don't know, how this all works. Again, I'm all for helping kids...so let me know.

I own a ton of Polo (by Ralph Lauren) gear, and was also a pretty darn good swimmer, but I never competed competitively in Water Polo or Diving...I TOLD YOU, though....I was STILL an all around ATHLETE and SCHOLAR! You surprised by that, stevenash? LOL

I played baseball from age 5 through 8th grade....then I concentrated on hoops...I was a pitcher, and played 1st base when I wasn't pitching. Also played quarterback in football...Again decided to specialize when I got to high school....ATHLETE RIGHT HERE, BUDDY! LOL
