GUARD play won state for us in 2001. Perk was a sophomore and a KEY component, but you just don't win state just because you have size...Back to the regularly scheduled programming...

Oh, that game IS tomorrow night, huh? The Ozen guard play is just too much this time around for Central. I realize they beat Ozen early in the year, but I think that Ozen is MUCH improved since then, and they should take the next two at least. Ozen by 5, 78-73.

I appreciate the sentiment, however I must disagree with you on one thing. If Coach English left Nederland, they would be in GREAT hands with the right coach of course, simply because Brian has built that program on such a solid foundation (i.e. Ozen) PLUS Port Arthur North, errrr, I mean Nederland is getting A LOT of kids that they would not have normally gotten...That's due largely in part to what Coach E has built over there, and partially to what has NOT been done just south of them...I do know this as well...Its going to be a VERY interesting off season as far a the coaching carousel goes. VERY interesting.

Failed to win the ULTIMATE prize...They had GREAT runs, but I was talking about finally getting that elusive state championship...Its not easy to do, but they definitely had the tools to do it the last two years...had bad luck in Austin with Wilridge getting hurt against Dallas Kimball, but I was just saying that I think that window has closed...My bad...

I LIVE in Nederland, and am FROM HOUSTON, Mr. Unknown....Yes I coached at Ozen, but I will NEVER hate on ANY team...I just speak the facts from my point of view. Central had their chance to make some noise the last two years and failed miserably...Ozen is very talented guard wise this year, but they are small...They play a 6'2 guard (Boyd) as a 4 man (PF) at times. This will go one of two ways in the playoffs...It will create a CRAZY amount of mismatches and they will advance, or they will get KILLED in the post and lose early to a team they could clearly beat. I think Nederland will have a great game plan, and execute it well against this Central team. Nederland by 6...No hate...See?

Folks I got the information from a family friend of the Swifts, and from the TVCC head coach. He did nothing to deserve being gunned down. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Plus him not being on the roster had zero to do with the tragedy. I have no idea why that was even mentioned either. The news reports angered me because it was unfair to the kid and his surviving family members. I just wanted to set the record straight. Good day.

How DARE you people on here suggest that this kid was anything but a victim of a senseless act of violence! The TRUE FACTS are that he was in the home of a young lady that he was involved with and her brother came home, an argument followed and Swift was shot and killed. He then told his sister to act like he broke in the house in order to cover up what he had done. HE WAS MURDERED IN COLD BLOOD, HE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY BURGLARY! You people in SE Texas sometimes disgust me with your judgmental ways...FYI, the Trinity Valley coach had JUST RE-INSTATED him to the team over the weekend. If you do not KNOW THE FACTS stay off of the public forum with your racist thoughts and ASS-umptions...
