Does anyone know the score of the HF girls vs Central girls from Friday night?

Girls: Bridge City 8 - Ozen 1

Bridge city has played Lumberton, HJ, and Silsbee.  We have seen Liberty play too.  I believe the District Championship is Lumberton's to lose, based on the teams we've played or seen play. 

Bridge City played in the Pearland Shootout Tournament this weekend.   Lost to HJ 0-3   Beat Brookshire-Royal 2-1   Beat HF in a shootout 4-3

Silsbee won 2-0.

Bridge City is just fine in 38-4A, thank you.  This is only our fourth year of girl's soccer and we were in the hunt for the 4th playoff spot until the final week of district play.  Playing programs like PNG, Nederland, Vidor, and LCM (we split with them this season) is only going to make our program better.

This district is pretty tough! Lumberton only beat our 4th place 1-0.

I'd like to see Lumberton get 15 All-District selections (1st, 2nd & HM) in this district!

I was there when the altercation broke out and the Bridge City girls were simply defending themselves against the aggressor's from Ozen!  I'm hope that whatever punishment Mr. Stump hands out is not too harsh, because the girls do not deserve it. 

I am hopeful the UIL will levy some sanctions on the coaches, players and school, on top of what the district did. Remember this is BISD, nothing is ever as it seems!  There seems to be a problem in the Ozen athletic department that needs serious attention. You do not see Westbrook or Central having problems like these with their athletic departments.

WOSgrad, who did you here had a video?  Just curious, because BC does not video their girl's soccer games and there wasn't any coverage that I saw from any television stations.

Caneyhead, I don't know which game this official was watching, because that did not happen!  I was there and from the outset of the game Beaumont Ozen's girls were the aggressors.  If the officials had been doing their jobs, none of this would have happened!

The incident has been reported to the UIL.

Lady Indians win 5 to 1 and win the 38-4A District Title.

Has any other teams had problems with Ozen?

The first game we played them was at Ozen and they played very physical, but nothing like this past Friday night. Much of the blame for the incident Friday night lies with the officials.  They did not take control of the game early to prevent the physical play from escalatin and getting out-of-hand.  Both official were not in good enough physical shape to get in position to make the correct calls and protect the girls.  This is nothing new for us this year most of our games have only had two officials and neither one was in very good physical condition.  Part of the officials responsibilty is to protect the players, but if they can't run and get into position to make the corrrect calls what good are they. 

I think that the players play the way they are coached!

Lady Cardinals win 2 to 0! There was an ugly incident after the game! One of Ozen's players hit our coach in the back and one of the Ozen players punched one of our players in the mouth and split he lip.  The officiating, or should I say lack of officiating led to the physical play, the fouls, the yellow and red cards by Ozen that perpetuated the end of the game incident.  The first game we played against Ozen was bad, but nothing like last night.
