Vidor played Kelly in the 7 oclock game last night. Vidor won 16 to 4. The Def. for Vidor has looked good every game, The pitching has been decent, and the bats finaly came to life last night. This team has the potential to be very, very good. I saw alot of life in them last night, when they finaly gel as a team the sky is the limit. John Smith pitched for vidor and looked good. T. Gentry came in and closed out the last inning. We play Jasper today not sure what time. -
D.Croft from Vidor.

Thi one was all Vidor. Orangefield still has some baseball players playing basketball so that hindered them in some positions, but Vidor was the better team. Orangefield had a couple kids on the mound that looked pretty good, the kid who threw third for them was a tall slinder right hander who I am told is a soph. good velo and a nice curve that had good 11-5 movement on it. The other was a left hander who threw towards the end he also had a good breaking ball with good location. Weston Crain threw for orange field and looked decent. On the Vidor side both Foshes Nick and Eric, John Smith, Dalton Croft, and Paul Fregia all looked very good on the mound , with the stand out being, in my opinion, Colby Schrilla his velo has to be close to 90 and his breaking ball is filthy. With the depth and quality of arms Vidor has they are definatly a play-off team and should make a run at rhe district title. On the defensive side they looked very solid. At the plate the Pirates hit the ball well and scored several runs. Best of luck to coach Trawhon and his kids at Orangefield this year. There is some good young talent there and if they are coachable they will do well under his leadership. One last thing GO PIRATES!!!!!

If Gentry was on varsity last year I dont remember seeing him play. I thought he pitched for the jv last year?

Went to the Firiday night practice and the Saturday inner squad scrimage. The starting line up should be close to this. catcher C. Schrilla, 1st base N. Foshe , 2nd J. Taylor, SS P. Fregia, 3rd D. Croft, center J. Stevenson, the other 2 outfield positions should come down to three players W. Parks, T. Sanford, and M. More. Pitching and defense looked solid during the scrimage. J. Smith, and E. Foshe loooked really good and will be as good as any other 1-2 in the district, several other kids pitched and looked good as well. The bats looked good a few to many fly ballls but that will be taken care of with a little time in the cages. Over all i am really excited to watch this team in action. Sept 4 first scrimage against Jasper at Vidor.GO PIRATES!!!

Vidor has some very talented ball players coming back this year, just wondering what the Pirate faith full, and anyone familiar with the kids that play at Vidor, thought about returning pitchers, defensive positions, and hitting. I see Eric Foshe and John Smith as our 1-2. They should be as solid as any other pitchers in the district. With a few others filling in N. Foshe, P. Fregia, and D. Croft to name a few. Defensively I am wondering who will start at short? Croft and Fregia are the two best options IMO. I don't think cooper is playing this year so the outfield is WIDE open. Tyler Sanford looked well during the fall, but he is a soph. With no varsity experience, if he is one of the three that still leaves 2 positions to fill. We will be solid at catcher with Schrilla returning. Hitting should be improved this year with most of our lineup back. Can't wait for Jan. 25th the last 2 months have been agonizing with no baseball. GO PIRATES!!!

Thanks Jeff, good coaching always helps talented ballplayers

Remember it well. Another thing about Yancey, he is very respectfull, his parents raised a good person and athlete. Who was your son on that team? Paul Fregia is my son.
