Number 6 for Porter real play D1 Basketball

The differential being +8 and 8th in the league always said a lot to me. You always hear baseball people say the + - always tells the story of how good teams really are. Not to mention anything can happen in a 5 game short series. I thought coming in the Rangers would lose a 5 game series to any teams in the AL except for maybe Cleveland. Yu and Cole just didn't match up great with power lineups both had given up large amounts of home runs throughout the year.

Porter does it after every game I've seen them play under Coach Holley. I haven't seen anyone else do it either.

Not true. Porter started this year well under 2150 ( the 6a cutoff) is 6A next alignment possible yes. Is it a guarantee no.

Not true Porter isn't nearly that large in enrollment.

Keep in mind how small of an alumni base Porter has only 5 graduated classes. Probably won't see a lot of Porter fans here, but the game crowds have been very good recently.

Yes I am not denying that there has been a ton of growth there obviously has. But what you said is exactly what I am saying,

Can we stop calling Porter a growth spurt team? Really not an accurate statement. To me, it does a disservice to the kids who have been here through all the struggles and worked their butts off to get to this point to call them a growth spurt team and act as if they are winning because a bunch of move ins came in.

Well there was the time Crosby beat Porter 70-0 trying to break a season scoring record if memory serves.

This is a different animal completely.

Heard someone mention the school growth. This wasn't about move ins and the changing population. By in large all these kids were at Porter, had a few that didn't play previously that decided to play this year. This was a group of kids buying in and working their butts to become a better football team. Also, a fantastic job by the coaching staff. A lot of people trying to bring down Crosby. They were beat up and Porter is way better than everybody thought. Wasn't a blind squirrel finding a nut. Porter has some guys.

Where is that guy that called Porter awful?

I'll just say it is a process but they are heading in the right direction.

Porter will be vastly improved this season. May or may not factor into the playoff discussion but will be much better than awful.

Cedar Hill won. Mansfield went to the state semi finals last year so it isn't as if they were playing a bad football team.

When you have guards as good as Silsbee who can get to the rim like they can you will have a chance to beat anyone. That is showing in this regional tournament. Talk about back from the dead to the doorstep of the state tournament look how close Athens was to winning it last night with 2 free throws with 4 seconds left in a tie game.
