  1. I think the LP Supt. is on the UIL Alignment Committee. Maybe we should start a lobbying effort. Ha!
  2. Any truth to the rumor WB & BU might drop down? If they do, I hope LP still stays in this district, and maybe KWP & Porter go back to where they were. Maybe this district could even go back to R3? It’s a decent drive over to y’all, but still manageable.
  3. I think PAM, LP, BH & Porter will make PO’s. Hoping LP can hang onto the 2 spot at least. Have some tough games still. Looked like a few young men from both sides got a little dinged up in the second half. Physical game as always. Neither team was gonna wear the other out. Hope they all were minor & nothing a good ice bath, sauna & rest time can’t fix. I noticed Forney gave Longview all they could handle, and then some. (My grandkids live/go to school in Forney. Ha!) Both those teams look rough. I wouldn’t want to be the 3 or 4 seed from our district. 1 & 2 may have a chance.
  4. Thanks! I have to watch the video feeds until LP’s new stadium (with better handicap facilities for my better 1/2) is finished. I watch NFHS/Texan Live, and they’re okay. But—so far—my favorite broadcasts are the student staff productions of LP & PAM. Both very professional. (Of course LP’s is free, and I’m a Homer, so that gives them an edge over PAM right now. HA!) Joking. Kids did great. Announcers did great. Young lady helping the broadcasters did great. Enjoyable way to watch a game if you can’t be there in person right now. And good game!
  5. This is a rivalry game. You never know what's going to happen. La Porte is just now getting back to where they used to be. The staff turnover the last few years has been tough on the program. But, the stability is back with this staff again. This should be a good rivalry for a few years again--pending realignment.
  6. If any of y'all know the broadcasters on the video feed, let them know they did a good job. They didn't try to act like they knew everything. They just were spectators with the call, and didn't have a problem saying when they missed something. Kudos! (I had trouble logging in and mirroring to the TV at first, so I missed their names if they mentioned them.)
  7. Somebody needs to buy that young man a big steak dinner! (Or, whatever he wants.)
  8. Holmes was y'all's kryptonite for LP tonight. He had a great game! PAM made some great adjustments going to a 5 man front, and those few minutes around the half turned the game completely around. LP missing an opportunity to score before half, PAM driving for 3 after half, and then the botched KO return by LP was all a big 13 point swing. Good game PAM!
  9. We'll have to see what adjustments both teams make after half. If PAM takes 2nd half KO & turns it into points, we've got ourselves a game.
  10. Broadcasters for PAM are kinda nice to listen to. Not talking all over the game & second guessing stuff. Just watching the plays. I like it.
  11. Game Day! All that’s left is: Keep the young men safe, and… GO DAWGS! 😎
  12. Not a shame. Not good or bad. Just human behavior. Parental involvement is key to a successful school district. Parents who have kids in extracurricular activities are generally more involved. Extracurricular activities generally involve groups. This involves more people who are excited about their kids’ activities—and are more involved. This involvement and excitement is spread to those who don’t even have children in school. It infects the whole town. It encourages new residents and businesses to ‘come to town’ which—in turn—helps the ISD garner support from all for necessary improvements. (Both physical facilities, educational tools, & staff needs.) Academics are more of a personal, individual activity. Exception being Academic Decathlon, Debate Teams, and those type extracurriculars. They can bring excitement also. Albeit, typically smaller crowds.
  13. For as big as NS OL is, SC sure held their own. Heck of a game.
  14. I’m used to NS being much bigger than their opponents. SC looks just as big to me on TV.
  15. Ha! My mind says PAM. (But, with PAM’s schedule so far, it’s hard for me to gauge.) My heart says Dawgs. I think It will be higher scoring. I’d be tempted to say 41-38 LP as a homer. PAM/LP tilts are hard to pick when they both are close to their historical selves.
  16. As an outsider (with a lot of gray hair), it’s critical for a Superintendent to understand the pivotal role extracurricular activities play in the overall education process. In a single high school town, the extracurricular activities are what the town rallies around. They can bring a sense of pride, which—in turn—brings more community/parental involvement, which breeds more success in academics as well as total well-rounded education. Successful extracurricular teams have historically provided more approved bond moneys than any other school activity. Just academics aren’t even close. Academics are great. But, voters don’t jump up & down & cheer for Johnny & Janet’s 4.5 gpa. It just doesn’t garner the same type of pride—even though it’s fantastic. Those who only focus on academics are just as bad as those who only focus on extracurriculars for not helping their charges reach their full potential. Pride in community is built quickly on successful Friday nights. Don’t underestimate the power of this to get necessary bond money approved for other needed improvements—both academic assistance and otherwise. I wish Crosby luck.
  17. Tiny Titan? Wow! Hope you’re doing well. Glad I helped you get fired up for the game. Not sure where you read half of what you think you’ve read, but at least you’re fired up. 😎 Unfortunately, I don’t get to go to games much any more. I’m gonna try to tune in on the PAISD site. LP leads the overall series 8-5. LP lead 8-2 until the last 3 years when LP had a new staff each year for those 3 years amid major turnover. PAM won in 2020, 21, & 22 to close the series gap to 8-5 LP. LP’s staff is in their second year now. The HC was at LP previously, and WANTS to be here. The return to ‘LP Football’ is becoming evident. Should be a good game. As I posted earlier, Calpreps has it at 41-28 PAM. We’ll see.
  18. LOL. Not sure I understood all that. But, I’ve been on this thread since the beginning trying to help keep the rivalry/excitement level up. This rivalry goes back a ways and deserves the attention. I usually only post on threads involving LP where the other school has posters also posting. I rarely jump in threads that don’t involve LP. That doesn’t mean I’m not here. 😜 I’ve about run out of things about this game other than specific matchups, and I haven’t seen too many PAM fans want to get that deep. (There will be some good individual matchups in this game. Many won’t be the skill players.) I’ll just finish with this. ‘Better’ athletes is subjective, and don’t always make for a better team.
  19. Agree. PAM had a pick 6 against Crosby. But—not being disrespectful of the young man—Crosby’s QB was not a very effective passer. LP’s D has been very opportunistic with 4 INT’s (2 pick 6’s) in the last 2 games, and I don’t remember how many fumbles recovered this year. All while being pretty decent ball security wise. If LP creates defensive scores against PAM, PAM’s in trouble.
