DO you have a schedule or outline of what you will be playing?
-
Looking for hitting lessons, need recommendation and contact. Yes, I know kid is only seven, but he can hit and parents really don't know how to teach correct technique. Looking for someone that works with young kids obviously.

Coach as a life long citizen of the city of Lumberton, I'm sorry you had to put up with the problems of a few parents who had no business butting into your job. I for one appreciate the fact that you were the ONLY coach to ever get our football program into the post season and I was certainly hoping you'd have enough time to build a strong program within our schools. I'm sure you'd probably agree that Lumberton does have some talent here if certain parents would step back and let the coaches and teachers do their jobs with developing that talent rather than insist on having their child coddled. That unfortunately is the problem with todays' me society. I hope you have a successful and long career in the coaching profession and I hope your next Head Coaching job is a joy to you. I feel sad that a few individuals ran off a HOMEGROWN coach most probably for some trivial BS. Good Luck Coach and always remember that SOME of us truly did appreciate the job you were doing with those young men who bought in to your program. Sincerely, A TRUE FAN OF LUMBERTON HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS NOT THE INDIVIDUAL ATHLETES.
How long does he get to estabalish a program? It starts in middle school and goes all the way up. How about the other programs in the district besides football? If parents are a problem, they are a problem because he has let them become a problem. Keep them off the field and out of the field house and in the stands where they belong and they will cease to be problems.
I think the question really should be 'Is the community interested in establishing a program?' I don't believe that is the goal of a lot of parents. IMO, I think it is more about 'my kid and what he/she will get out of this'. Just think about the number of kids specializing in one sport, especially baseball. In many cases, parents don't discourage specialization because in their mind, specializing in baseball will give them a better shot at a scholarship. Not a lot of specializing in football but let's face it, kids these days are lazier than ever so, of course they would choose baseball over football. Go watch football practice and then watch a baseball practice and tell me which one a lazy kid is going to choose, if the parents let them. I would also suggest that in towns like Vidor, Port Neches, Groves, Nederland, Orange, that you have a tougher, more blue-collar attitude that does not accept laziness and probably 'encourages' their kid to play football even if they won't play after high school. I don't know about the last comments on parents being on the fields and in the fieldhouse. If that is really happening over there, then that could explain a few things. That would definitely have to stop.
I hope you are not saying that the baseball players are more lazy than the football players. My son has grown up playing both, and for every hour he spends on football, he spends 4 on baseball. The specialized baseball players you refer too are playing year round in most cases and actual high school practices are only a portion of the practice they are doing. Got to go, now that high school baseball is over, taking my lazy son to do some baseball practice, one of three he will do this week. -
The Ump was not good. Never seen a high school team have to crowd the plate to protect against balls off the plate being called strikes. The pop ups were off the pitchers very good curve ball, but he was getting his fast ball called to far off the plate. He pitched perfectly, but there is no need to give him that much of a strike zone. Hopefully the game two ump will not be a little league ump also.

He obviously isn't according to your criteria. And your comment about him being 'done', that just shows me what kind of individual you are. I know that at the end of each day, I can be happy knowing that my kids would be proud of my actions and my words that day. Can you say the same? Would your wife, your mom and dad and your kids be proud of that kind of statement. That's pretty heartless. And to be clear, Credeur is not done. He is only done in Lumberton. I'm happy for him. I'm only sad for us and for our kids.

ive known Alvin for 40 years as a classmate, friend, team mate, hunting buddy, and as AD and head coach, just a huge loss as I see it. he chose to resign from this job. reasons do include money {lowest paid in district},assistant coaches pay, also lowest in district,in turn he looses quality assistants. reasons also included a relentless amount of calls from parents to the board, school, and his office. some just cant believe that the talent is not here to be successful. there is talent here ,but numbers are just smaller than other programs, making your overall pool of kids just smaller. just watching the last years games proove this out. the 07 and 08 years had several college players on these teams. look how many college players since ,I cant think of any. 07 ,08,09 teams had these guys; allen ward-texas state, cody hussy-lamar,manley-Tulane,jacob hanna-lamar,jesse sparks-lamar,kyle Gilliam-lamar,mark murrell-lamar,anthony beard-smu-lamar, that was talent ,not to say there is not talented young men in the program today and also in the youth programs, because there is,but the constant pressure and arguing by certain parents and others have made a difficult decision a little easier for Alvin to make. I know someone will get a fine person and coach to help their program. hope Lumberton gets a new coach with thick skin, hes going to need it
I agree with almost everything you said. I don't agree that money has anything to do with it. If coach put 10 reasons on paper of why he resigned, I don't believe his pay would be on that list. I also don't agree that Coach Credeur resigned because of the constant loss of quality assistants. Not denying that he lost them but he wouldn't leave because of that. But the $ for the program and turnover in assistants certainly contributed to the losses. And the losses contributed to the unhappiness of the parents which led to the phone calls.
-

I guess you make the rulz. You want my taxes.
You might feel differently about the situation if we dig into where you work and the quality of your work and the community judges you on whether they think you are successful. And if they don't think you are doing well enough, the level of complaining reaches a point where it affects people's livelihood. This is about more than just grumbling under your breath or friendly banter on a sports forum. This group, I assume you are one of them, went after this man's livelihood which has an affect on his life and the lives of his family members. Your assuming I am not in a public light. If I don't do my job well, people could die. Have yet to quit.
