1. How is Huffmans defense this year. I know last year they had a nasty good D-line. Along with a secondary player who could lay a hat.
Although I do believe that Deel will be leaving after this season, he is not the biggest problem with the Liberty program. The Panthers have improved every year, with the expception of this year. I do agree that the attitude of some seems to be a problem, but as an ex coach for liberty used to say... there are two things that can not be coached... effort and enthusiasm. A coach can teach technique and build discipline. The player have had decent technique over the the last few years, but discipline is one thing Liberty seemed to be struggling with, and overall that is the only problem that i have ever had with the way coach deel has ran his program. You cannot lay the blame on the coaches alone. Imo it the blame for Liberty's is rough season this year lies in both the players and coaches. From the few games I saw, I have not seen every Liberty game this year, there are SOME players who do not seem to be giving everything they have on Friday nights. of course i do not know the whole story those players could be playing through injuries or something like that i do not know, but that is the way it looked in the stands. Texas Minuteman when  has the coaches blamed the kids? Not calling you out but that is the first time I have heard that.
Its hearsay!! Ive heard it from friends and parents of some of the players. But I dont believe that they all would say the same thing if it were not true.
Im assuming you are from Liberty, as am I, and we shold both know to take everyything you hear with a grain of salt... small town rumors are not the most reliable source of information. Now I do not know if they said it, but I highly doubt it is true based on what I know about the coaches at Liberty.
If you want to hear it first hand, just visit some of the LP players twitter accounts.  They're pretty open about their dislike for Deel.  It's pretty disturbing to tell you the truth.
No doubt that some do not like him, but i was talking about him blaming the players for the losses. I have heard nothing of this.

I could be wrong, but with the changes made I see 3rd and a one and done playoff run.
This is the funniest thing I've read on here in a while. Hilarious!
Right, because there's no validity to it at all. When your indians miss the playoffs come back to this thread and share with us how hilarious that is.
I'll gladly return to the thread even though it won't be necessary. Ftr, it's not that you could be wrong in your prediction, it's that you will be wrong.
Kinda like you were wrong about Liberty's record from last season, which just so happened to be the same as cleveland's.. go figure.
No, no, no, not the same. Cleveland's 7-3 record included punking Liberty in their own house last year! Let us not forget.  ;D
And Libertys included beating the private school state runner up beaumont kelly :)... the year before that I seem to recall a fairly bad Liberty "punking" Cleveland team at home. However, neither of these matter anymore being that it is done and over. I think the panthers will pull it together when district spot and compete for a 3 place spot with cleveland.

 5.
fallen on hard times??...how is this season any different than any of the others since Deel has been there?
Well if you have passed 4th grade math you should be able to answer this question yourself. Last years team went 7 and 3 and the year before that 5-5. granted those years schedules were alot easier than this years, but something has happened idk what, but I hope that they prove us all wrong and pull off a spot in the play offs. as for this game i predict Liberty will win 21-14.

 7.
It really to early to tell, I would like to think Coldspring will makee another big run!!!! Starting a fair sized O line and only losing 2 key players on their D, one of witch was out in the liberty game with a broke neck.. Losing Gilbert is big but having Cooper and Johnson in the backfield will put the 2 headed monster back in action!!!! It should be a fun year this year and I hope it is a safe season for all the teams in the area.. Good Luck guys ;D ;D
Is Coldspring returning the qb? He was a pretty decent runner from what I saw.

Keep em coming. Did they get diagnosed with concussions by a physician? Players will start "dropping like flies" when they get hit hard or punched in the mouth by another team. They will often be carried off the field only to return later or be just fine the next day with no apparent injuries. It happens all the time with teams that are less physical playing teams that enjoy being physical. When players get tired of being hit by another team they will get a mysterious undiagnosable injury that they can get themselves off the field with.
Keep them coming? Why the heck would i have make censored up to prove you wrong.. you are just 89 falcon on setx lol.. if townley would've been hurt & i was to say he faked it or questioned him as a person you & the rest of the huffman clan would've cried all over the site.. i don't even know why im entertaining this ignorance.
I don't think he is saying that nobody on Liberty's team was hurt. I think it has more to do with the number. 11 starters injured durring the Cleveland game? Players not telling coaches about concussions they mysteriously got diagnosed with? That sounds a little extreme. It sounds like an excuse for losing.
11 was an exaggerated number and you do not have to be diagnosed to know you have a concusion the symptoms are fairly simple to recognize if they have been diagnosed before. A concusion is a concusion regardless if it is diagnosed or not. And I brought that up because some people made a comment about liberty players not being very tough. When a person can not walk he can not play regardless of how tough he is
 9. Make no mistake there were a few players who had to hid the fact that they had concusions from the coaching staff so they could continue to play the players who were injured could not possibly play regardless of how tough they were.

They don't care what you did in high school. They look at speed, size, and strength. And at the end of the day if they think you can play they will offer.
I agree, and also at the end of the day none cares about whether or not your QB goes to college, only that he won or lost and made the playoffs or did not make the playoffs.
You can not blame a season on one player. Huffman has better supporting roles than liberty does Fitz was a great QB on an average team, where as Townleyt was a better than average qb on an above average team.

The kind of numbers he put up was worthy of at least honorable mention on the all district team.Unfortunatly Deel is not respected by the other coaches in the district because of how he treated former Liberty coaches that are respected by them. Therefore he could get the votes.  If Daniel was my offspring I'd move him also.
Daniel did get hm this year and the year before he made the all district team. Also it is not uncommon for new ads to come in and "clean shop". Also if coach deel was as disrespected as you say why did jake vaught Ryan Melton, Luis Hernandez Randol wiggins Jon Lacefield and Denton Orand among others all make the all district team. The reasons the fitzwaters gave for leaving are that they are moving closer to their daughter who attends Louisiana tech. Not because of deel if that was the case there are alot of closer places that they could move instead of switching states
I was told he didnt make HM,and only speculated about reason for moving, but what a stated about the respect part still stands.Barbay will run up the score up on him if Liberty cant stop him.The other coaches arent going to not vote for deserving player.Fitzwater deserved HM no more no less.
Coldspring ran the score up bc we could not stop them, not because of some imagined anti deel brotherhood. I have personally seen Barbay and Dell have friendly conversations at various sporting events.
 12. Yes they are talking about townley. Huffmans offense is based on short quick passes and it works, but townley does not have the power fitz does.
 13.
This is an indictment of Deel.  Fitzwaters father has a lot of football knowledge, and he told me several times that he was getting frustrated with the way things were going in Liberty.  I hate to see this, but i'm sure it is what is in Daniels best interest if he plans on playing at the next level.  I'm sure all of the Liberty posters will be very quiet from this point forward. Is Jake Vaught going with him?
This is one of the funniest things I have heard in my life. Just so you know liberty does a fairly good job of getting attention to their players for Colleges with 3 players going to play in college from this years graduating class.
 14. The o line was actually kinda small last year. Other than Melton the biggest guy maybe weighed 240 and 2 of the o linemen barely weighed 200.
 15. Liberty has some of the worst fans I have ever seen. Everybody says that me lp6 and lp4life are arrogant and what not, but y'all make me ashamed to have ever played for Liberty. Here's a good idea instead of whining about the coach why don't you try to support the players instead of putting down a bunch of 16 and 17 year olds. Yes liberty lost fitz and t is a big loss, but all of these people on here trashing the team, who were supporting the panthers earlier this year. Standish will lead the panthers to playoffs. We still have Jordan jones , antoine, Mosley, and many other athletes that are perfectly capable of going to the play offs.
 16. Standish wasn't mentioned before bc he was going to be the back up qb I don't think any team really talks to much about their back ups. Standish does not have the arm fitz does but he is a hard worker great leader very smart kid, and a good qb. I wish the best for fitz wherever he goes, but I think liberty can get the job done with standish at qb.

 18.
i'm baseball buddy. America's Pastime. The greatest game on Earth.
Baseball may be America's pastime, but football is our passion.
 19. Deel has done a good job. The team has improved every single year he has been here That is all you can ask of a coach. Give Deel some time and i believe that he will make the Liberty program very strong. The worst thing you can do is get a new coach every 4 or 5 years the players need consistency in any program.
 20. What has slack done? He'd didn't make playoffs in a 5 team district. No disrespect towards slack he is a great guy but he is to inexperienced. As to what you were saying about deel I will admit he has made some mistakes, but the yer before last he took a group of seniors who didnt win a game from 7th to there sophomore year and got 3rd in district. Now that is not a huge accomplishment, but to take a group of kids who have never won 3 games in one season an get third than that is good coaching during season and off season. Yes they did not beat anybody worth anything this year, but it was an improvement. You cannot seriously expect a coach to come into a program that was getting 3 wins a season and start beating everybody in the first few years

Get off the computer and get in the weight room...
It's funny how the jv players & the people who never touch the field give the 'Liberty players' bad names. It's never the leaders on the team.. you are telling people who have time to argue with old men on setx to get in the weight room.. do you really think this is Jones, Fitzwater, Antione, Fregia, Tebo on here trash talking? If someone told me it most of these LP people were the same person i wouldn't be shocked at all.
This is true we are not on the team anymore, and in the summer there is not much to do other than argue with old men. However as me and LP6 stated in a previous post we are not the same person. Just so you know, I was not a bench warmer and never played J.V.

The info I got is that they are both juniors and brothers. Heard they played at Barbers Hill and were decent size kids, probably 6'0 200lbs or more. Let's not forget Brady Ben was also a move in from BH last season, he is one of our top players at 6'2 230lbs.
It is HD after all, any kid is likely an improvement on another.  Especially if they are 6-2 and 230.  Nothing against Brady, but man how may 6-2 230 fellas you hiding in those woods anyway?  ;D
Brady is more like 6'0 215lbs, and yes we have some big kids. THe O-line this year is gonna be bigger than the last few years. We will average about 240lbs. Chris Taylor is a beast at 250lbs, Cook is 250lbs, Abraham is 230lbs and Stanley is 230lbs.
Bigger does not always mean better. If a lineman can't move very good, then he might as well weigh 120 lbs. Not saying these kids are slow to be honest i have only seen one of them play, and that was when he was attending liberty in middle school, but in todays game speed wins, not size.
 23. Liberty has a great strength and conditioning program, which took 11 kids to the regional powerlifting meet this year and one person won 6 in state as a junior. However the main problem in liberty is not the coaches it is the attitude of the town the parents are more interested in seeing little Johnny on homecoming night than they are in letting the coaches do there jobs and coach the kids. Texas minuteman how has coach deel not utilized the talent? I am not trying to call you out, I would just like for you to explain what your reasons are behind all of the hate for deel

Here's there record with LCM (a 4A school incase you didn't know) [Hidden Content] Here's another one with a 3A school Jasper [Hidden Content] Last year they took the 20-4A district champs to overtime and came very very close to winning. I think that speaks for itself. What has Coldspring done against the greats of SETX?
coldspring beat WOS last year in playoffs. So that would make them better than WOS advancing all the way to the semi's i believe. The year before that they played for the state championship. Do not get me wrong WOS is very good, but the simple fact is Coldspring is better.
The past 4 years yes Coldspring has had the upper hand but lets check consistency here. Who has been consistently good?
True WOS has been a better program over time, but i think, this is just my opinion, that Coldspring is the best small school team is setx this year, so they have the best chance of beating the other teams like WB. Not saying that they would, but i think they have a better chance. Just because WOS has been better in the past that does not mean that they are better in the present.
hate to disagree with ya two cents, but the WOS of now in no way compares to the WOS of old. I know, I played against them. Today, Coldspring is the better team and they have proved it. I saw the playoff reel. As far as SETX, seriously, who is gonna match up with PAM? And don't say Westbrook(not this year).
Ok, I'll give Coldspring the past couple years. Great team with great coach. However, the Cinderella seasons end this year for the Trojans. CS has been consistent for 2 years.....WOS has been consistent for 30. I'm not a scholar but that's a little difference. Trust me, the Mustangs are just the same as "old". Thompson is a mirror of Hooks. A hall of fame coach leaves, and we make it to the quarter finals with a "new" coach. I'll give CS props because they have had great teams but consistency is not the Trojans.
There is no doubt that all in all WOS is the better team as far as history and past expeirence goes. I do not know if CS will be better worse or the same this next year being that they lost a great group of seniors. However as of late there has been no shortage of athletes in Coldspring and i do not see any reason why their will not be people to step up and replace those lost to graduation. With all that being said you are right in most of the things you said, and if this thread means the best teams overall then WOS is better than Coldsprings, but if it means this last year, then Coldsping is the winner.
 25.
His contract was renewed? & for how long?
I believe he has one year left in his contract. Rumor around town is if he performs well this season then it will be renewed. However, this is small town talk so I would not place to much credit on this. With that being said, I fully support Coach Deel and think he is a good coach and a great guy who really cares for the players.
