It's funny to me and pretty much EVERYONE in the football world that the loss and 1 player and replacing him with this phenom of an athlete would cause y'all to lose the game to Cleveland much less blow a 20 point lead. If our stregnth was the inside run and he was an inside LBer, isn't his assignment pretty easy? Tackle Franks, done!! I am pretty sure that no schools in 22-3A have a 4A enrollment... If they did, they probably wouldn't be 3A, right? That LP6, what a funny guy!!
Are you mentally retarded? You are right the linbacker just runs down the middle every play... Obviously you have never played or coached football. Hell im wondering if you have ever even watched a game. It is not that simple to say "hey there is the runningback let me go tackle him". The only time you must have ever been on the field when you were playing was half time huh?
This is awesome!! When does football start?!?! I don't think Liberty matches up with Huffman offensively... They had 4 'vetran' o-linemen and gave up like 7 sacks against Huffman last year? Cleveland will do more of the same this year to Liberty!! Liberty does have a RB that average 15 yards a carry, IN NON-DISTRICT, and like 3 in district... Cleveland is very ATHELTIC, Coldspring is athletic and well coached... They will be tough to beat!!
Liberty has two online man playing college ball next year along with the tight end. Also all but one of the o line man got an all district selection, 1 first team, one 2 team and 2 hm. The o line was a pretty solid group. Yes there were sacks in Huffman but everybody had a bad game now and then. As too the rb he was a sophomore.. Not to many sophomores are just amazing.
What's next, who has the best cleats, water coolers or the newest bus at the game? Just beat them and you can talk all the smack you want. Cleveland got beat by both really bad, I could give several reasons why but it don't matter. I knew going in we were going to get beat, 8 starting sophomores on {D} and 4 on {O} we were to young. Now looking at this coming season, we have graduated some problems for Cleveland, we have a group of juniors returning that are focused. Maples on his third year as AD, things are stable for now. Huffman and Coldspring are the main focus...
I would be careful liberty learned this year what happens when you overlook a good district opponent. One thing I will say is that Cleveland has a lot of very good athletes. That is almost always the case. On paper Cleveland has the athletes to match up to Huffman. However, they seem to have had trouble in the past 2 years of getting those athletes to full potential. Whether that was from them being young or other problems not related to football i do not know, but if you walk through Liberty then go to Cleveland, you would be amazed that these kids can even compete with Cleveland.

Liberty does not have the advantage of having a large football team, and even though most of the starters are as good as Huffmans, the second string is for the most part horrible. In the cleveland game liberty lost both inside linebackers, during the game, and 2 backups due to concussions from practice, in the end a running back , who has not played defense since week 2 had to go in at sam linebacker. It is a hard position to pick up on the fly. After the cleveland game Liberty's D was broken. In the next week, Coldspring, There were 7 original starters on the defense, 3 backups, and 1 J.V player at DE. And they fought like crazy, and the team decided to opt out of a running clock. Not to mention in the fourth quarter Liberty started to let the Senior lineman have some fun and let them run the ball, which ended disasterously
Maybe your offensive starters might be equal to Huffman's, but your defensive starters are no where close.
With a few exceptions i agree with this. Omar Tebo who went to state in powerlifting, and a few others mathc up fairly well. However, for the most part liberty's Defense was weak, but they are young and i believe that they show some promise in the future. But as of THIS year you are correct.

I know that in Liberty during the same athletic period, there is a football off season, baseball off season, and basketball off season. As soon as football is over, the baseball players go to their off season, basketball goes to theirs, and once the other sport is over players come back to football off season. the only problem i have with this is the few players that play football, baaskeball, and baseball never have a serious weight program, and it ends up hurting the kids as they become upperclassmen simply because they have not gaines much strength.

I am not saying we should have won, I said we could have, Liberty dropped some key passes, and turnovers killed them, but like you said, it is part of the game. What I was saying is that on another day Who knows maybe the two td passes would have been caught, and special teams would have held on to the ball maybe not idk. either way Liberty could have hung with Huffman player for player Liberty and Huffman are actually very close. This next year who knows, Liberty lost 4 veteran O-lineman so if they get that sorted out, then maybe next year is the year when Liberty takes out its revenge on Huffman i am not saying it will happen, however i will not be surprised if it does.

I stand by what I said the game could have gone either way there were some key passes dropped by liberty players that woul have tied up the game so yes It could have gone either way

Or at least they did last season I know coach fortune is a run style sort of guy that could lead to some problems IMO
Not always a problem, trust me the man knows how to coach, you just might be surprised.
I was not trying to bash coach fortune I know the man and he is a great guy and a great coach I was just saying Hardin is small
Not saying you were bashing him. Just know that it does not matter how small they are, if the kids have heart and you give them good coaching, great things can happen.
Without a doubt one of the most intelligent comments I have seen on here in a while. That is a very good point, and I do hope that Coach Fortune can build the Hardin program back up.

Huffman did beat Liberty 40-20, but it was a much clser game than the scorboard showed. If you were at the game it was not a blowout until the 4th quarter, when Liberty's Offense stalled, and the defense fell apart. I personally believe that the game could have gone either way on any night. Huffman was the better team that night, however if they played ten times i believe that Liberty and Huffman would both win 5.
Your Liberty Panthers are all world!! Nobody could come play at the power house Liberty!! ;D Liberty has and will always live in H-D's shadow, we are the only State Champ in the County. And in the last 14 years yall are living in Dayton's shadow. Hull-Daisetta has won 63% percent of it's football games and is a football town. Liberty... well they have a Walmart. lol! :D Good luck with two former Bobcat studs Andrew and Zack Fregia, Bobcats will make that a strong Liberty football program. ;)
I almost forgot. The only contribution hd has made to the Liberty program was the PAT snapper Jackson pope... So hdbobcat you are correct former bobcats ( since he went to kindergarten in daisetta) definitely carry this liberty program.

So what makes you think H-D is so amazing? As of right now, H-D is the laughing stock of Liberty County

you need to check your sources Antoine is in Liberty to stay. You must be thinking of his little brother who did move to Dayton, but is back in Liberty.
LP6 Liberty is a 3A and H-D is a 1A. Liberty has never been a football school. Heck, most of the Liberty teams won maybe 3 games a year, up until the 90's. Every once in a while Liberty would get a stud and ride him to a first round exit in the playoffs. And yes Liberty for years has lived in the shadow of all the football championships HD has won.(Including the only State Championship in Liberty County) And for you to call those top players out at H-D and say they won't play college ball is wrong. Tyler Drake lead that team in TD's and in many peoples eyes was the best player. Heck Drake ran for 6 td's in one game. I believe Drake will play college ball, and Chris Taylor has the size to also. H-D would have beat Liberty in football all the way up until about the last 4 years. Now with Coach Finney here, H-D will be ready to play Liberty in 2 seasons, trust me. ;) ;D Get over Liberty football, stick to tennis and golf. H-D and Dayton are the football schools in this County. ;D 8)
H-d WAS a football school it is going downhill maybe this new coach can change that, but you have to realize that the state title won 30+ years ago no longer matters. And do not try to compare H-D to Dayton. Dayton has made playoffs for a straight sixteen years in a 4a district that is alot tougher and bigger than H-D's As to the 1st round exits, when was the last time H-d got out of the first round? Congratulations Y'all regularly make playoffs in a 5 team district then lose in the first round. i have never claimed Liberty is a football school. It is not. However, to say that that is a reason that H-D is better than Liberty is insane. Being a football school, H-D should have had at least enough players to field a J.V team this year. Daisetta saw its peak in the 70's Liberty is about to start a winning tradition that i see lasting a very long time.
In comparing Liberty to HD you have to consider the difference and level of numbers and competition between 1A and 3A. As you go up in divisions the level of competition increases drastically. There will generally always be one team at a higher level that couldn't compete with anybody, but overall theres no comparison. I was on a pretty good Hardin team that moved from 2A to 3A, we scheduled our former 2A foes for non-district games that year and swept them, but at 3A we were no match only beating East Chambers barely, 14-8. I remember being amazed at how many more kids the other teams had, how they had seperate kickoff and kickoff return teams, we all went both ways. Personally, I think it would be ugly for HD, they don't want any of Liberty. But also, it would be ugly for Liberty to play Dayton. Sometimes pride and the past clouds logical thinking.
Great post... And I for one do not disagree Liberty would get mashed by dayton, we do not have the speed or numbers to compete against Dayton. That being said I do not know a single person in Liberty who would back down from the chance to play them. I would personally like to see a return to that rivalry, even though Liberty would be on the losing side, it would be a great choice for a non district game IMO.

awhile back, he was the head coach at Livingston, left for Tarkington then went back as the O-line coach at Livingston. He may have been somewhere in between the schools I mentioned, but I know these for a fact. He is a great guy, and I expect to see more from Hardin...
According to the Chronicle, Liberty had the best defense in 22-3A? Coldsprings stats are COMPLETELY inaccurate... Just curious if there was a solid website to get some data! Thanks!
ROFL I am a huge liberty fan, and even i find that hilarious. Defense was better than it has been in some time, but this is crazy
-
you said former bobcats. That would mean that they played for the bobcats. Also I have compared us to other 3 a teams, and we are decent. Not the best, but not the worst.
-
First off i said a DECENT 3a team, 2nd the Fregias' have never played for HD high school, there fathers did, not them, 3rd unless you were on the state championship team stop bragging, and even if you were, what happened in the 70's does not matter. And how does a player that was hurt all last year make the Liberty program strong? As to Andrew the kid is a great athlete and i expect to see alot from him in the future. They are both good players. But back to the STUDS of the team the people who make this program run are Daniel Fitzwater, family is from amarillo, Jordan Jones, Liberty, Jake Vaught. Liberty, Aaron Mosley, Liberty, and Dennis Antoine cleveland, so please explain to me how Libertys program is ran by former bobcats. And what is the win percentage of the last 5 years? It isnt the 70's anymore unplug the lava lamp and look outside.

We all expect CS to have a good year but the real question is can one of the 3rd place under dawgs (cleveland, liberty)can step up and beat the falcons for 2nd.
I doubt it. Huffman should be better than they were last year especially on offense, but we will see. I know Cleveland had a lot of young talented sophomores playing on varsity last year so they are probably going to be pretty good. I think Liberty will finish 4th again they have some goid skill players on O, but they lost alot on the oline and I don't think thier defense will improve from last year, although it can't get much worse.
How many defensive players is Huffman losing? IMO that was the strong point of the Falcons last season, the offense was not bad, but the defense was what carried them through the games.
-
It's funny how good you think Liberty is and they never do anything. Finishing 3rd is a successful year. If the players are as good as you say, Liberty should be going deep every year in the playoffs. Heck, they aren't even the best in the District. Huffman will destroy Liberty this coming season. Huffman does have two former H-D Bobcats in Cole and Chase Harrell.
Coming from a team that doesn't even make playoffs in a 5 team district? If the all mighty bobcats have 4 players who could start both ways at a decent 3a school, then they should have at least made play offs, and by that i mean beating 3 district opponents. As to those 4 players you named what positions would they start at? I am not trashing the players, but i do not know what position coach H-D bobcat 55 wpuld play them at
-
To far apart aren't they?
I personally think they are too far apart even though the schools may not be far the people who go to Hardin and daisetta don't exactly live in the city. So this would make it very hard to combine and even if the distance wasn't a problem they never would combine
