  1. i guess somebody liked him since he just made academic all state.
  2. no, i don't coach but i know the business. I played the game in college and even scouted for my college for awhile after my 4 years were up. i know the politics and i know people. By the way just check some of my notes - they are posted during the games..... hard to do that and coach...
  3. What reason would the coach play somebody of less talent. His reputation is based on wins. You mention sucking up -- the man had a person run for school board just to try and fire him.. The man plays who he thinks will help win the game..instead of gripeing about the coach look at some real facts --- ask the school board why? jasper --- 4 coaches bc --- 3 jasper baseball budget 30,000 bc budget 5,000 how many injuries are associated to summer ball... didn't hicks and jackson both get hurt during the summer Gripe about something real not about phantom injustices...
  4. injun ,,, how do you know what he has done? why don't you do something....
  5. This is really silly but a prime example of the problem here. I was here in this town and talked to individuals riding around in bridge city independent school district trucks. I talked to coach bryant at the field and this all took place before most people even attempted to get back in to town. Sorry it doesn't fit your timetable.
  6. The comments were in reference to a player blaming Coach Bryant for the condition of the field. What i was trying to convey was that after the hurricane hit that he tried to save as much equipment as possible and when he asked for help he got none.
  7. Amazing, the field is bad because coach bryant doesn't suck up to the administration..bridge city only wins games because of the talent the last 4 years, when was the last time BC had a losing season, oh yea that same talent didn't get scholarships because the coach hid them, you trash the man here you trash him in the stands, you got injun that is the greatest because he has coached and umped in thousands of little league games, you got red1 going back and deleting all the old accusations.. where were you people at after the hurricane when he was securing the equipment and tools, and the grounds people laughed at him when he asked for help. here is a question --- how many people got baseball scholarships and who were the coaches from bridge city at the time and how many played 4 years or went pro... by the way who do you think nominates a player for the all-star game. So somebody twist that around. I watched a game that TJ played BC,Coach Taylor was the coach from tj, he came and sat in the stands for most of the game, i finally later asked him what he was doing, his comment to me was -- if i have to teach on gameday its a little late... point being- this is the players team they know what to do its up to them to execute...
  8. you know this is really not a good thread, it creates such a lightning rod of debate. i don't know what life altering discussions you were looking for .. i played for coach young and the one statement i remember was " never wake a sleeping bear". Two good coaches with different styles and different circumstances surrounding them.
  9. injun, can you give me lottery numbers , you always seem to have the answers....if you are going to analyze the game , critique the whole game, by the way how many times have you changed your name to suit your purpose
  10. bunch of new peple jumping on the band wagon, how many of you just changed your name..... many of you keep talking about all this great talent,,, how many bridge city players have completed 4 years of college baseball?
  11. So Injun when you coached those 16 yr olds did you ever pull a kid that said he could finish the game? How many times have you seen the pro's switch pitchers just so they can get a left hander to a left handed batter?
  12. its not to often a junior gets a baseball scholarship..... try again
  13. in times of extreme emotion people develop tunnel vision ,, this is a perfect example of perceived injustices or prejudice,, who can i blame , it has to be the coach, getting or not getting a baseball scholarship stops noone, its just an easy excuse to quit, tryout somewhere, every college out there has a fall program. Like i said before my scholarship came after i played in the fall but then again i sent out about 200 athletic resume's my junior and senior year in high school asking for a tryout i didn't wait on the coach to do anything. as for occupant--- he is playing out his own little agenda.. how does he know any of that information -- the usual answer will be -- i was told that..
  14. You just can't stand it when someone says anything decent about the guy..
