Batter had a 2-2 count, hurts his hand on a swing.......he is replaced by a pitch hitter?!?!? This batter is also Needville's pitcher. So if they do tie the game, they will have to have another pitcher. Next pitch gets away from Jackson.......runners advance....its a full count on the batter.

Needville gets a base hit to get one on.......next batter goes full count and gets a walk.......lets get this third batter!!

Needville has two outs.............just one left for the Cards to get!!

BC threatens with a runner in the bottom of the 6th, but does not score. 8-5 going to the top of the 7th. Shut em down BC!!

Two outs for Taylor now.........9th batter comes up and grounds out. Carthage wins 10-0.

The only pitcher for Carthage so far is David Rollins.... He's a left handed pitcher ace for Carthage. Taylor has a man on first, one out......and will have to dig to keep from being 10 run ruled.

But both runners score on a slow roller to second, throw to first.....runner was called safe....and in the confusion the second runner came home. 6-5...........Cards have to shut them down!!

Meeks if having a good nite........just one hit so far. Needville started a Jr pitcher McGuire, then replaced him with a Soph. Salazar in BC's big inning. Keep it coming Cards!!

Middle of the 5th inning.....Carthage is up 4-0 over Taylor.

Carthage still leading 3-0, top of the fifth...Taylor was changing pitchers...

Stringer did not appear to have his magic tonight.....hey sometimes the good ones have a "off night". Don't get me wrong, not that he stunk or anything, just seemed to have trouble spotting his breaking stuff. Needville batters can indeed hit the fast ball! The BC batters were befuddled with the offspeed stuff from the Fresh pitcher from Needville. The Coach calling the pitches for them, did a great job. All in all, Needville got the hits in a timely fashion. They looked a little ragged during warmups, but played good fundamental baseball in the game. BC will have to pick it up a little to stay, I think they are the better team, but did not show it tonight. Needville looked like there was a little weakness in the catchers arm going to second base.....but we did not seem to try and exploit it. I think it will be Meeks tomorrow.

buc3.......let it go. There is no reason to continue with these type of posts other then to stir the pot. We can always take this up after the season is over.

Okay Shadow.........good answer. Just to throw my .02 in the mix. Bryant has been successful at BC, but sometimes you wonder.....in the state semi-final game last year, he waited to pull Angelle when it was clear he was out of gas......that brought up ??? Then his lack of playing "small" ball like in the second game against Wharton. They had the chance to cut the lead by using the bunt, but didn't......??? BC has been blessed with talent.......but that is not a product of Bryant, it is a product of the little league and baseball experience before high school. He has always appeared to me to be more of a manager then a coach. But that is just my opinion. Not meant to be a slam, just a observation. I think the HI coach did an excellent job in 1A, the Woodville and Buna coaches have done excellent jobs in 2A , the HJ coach did a excellent job as did the Jasper coach in 3A, I think Griffith and the Vidor coach did a excellent job in 4A. I don't really have a opinion of 5A......just don't follow them enought to comment.

I think BC will pull Needville out of the playoffs! There are a lot of variables.........1 game series, best of 3, playing in Lubbock....just kidding on the last. In a 1 game series......BC has the upper hand, and in a best of 3, I think BC has the upper hand. Heck, even Tigerpride with Wharton thinks BC can take them and they beat Needville twice during district!! So if you push me to choose..........its BC Cardinals, all the way!!

Once again......I am impressed tigerpride!! I wish all athletes could carry the class and heart that you do!! Congrats on a great season and will look forward to seeing Wharton in the playoffs next year!
