Truth be known, BMT Pride, you do give props to those kids.  I am not talking about you.  There are others on here that just trash everything non-Bmt blue. 

I never said I don't like the forum, I just don't like the lack of class shown by several people on here. 

Then show those kids a little respect, they are at the top of their game for being a relatively young team.  Just say it's gonna be a good game, which it will be.  I just wish people on this forum showed a little more sportsmanship.  This is not the NFL and your not dogging your buddy's favorite team.  Your dogging your neigbor's kids.  I guess I just approach this differently than most of you other folks on here....

Mr. Anderson, we get it that Bmt blue is a great team, but please quit denegrating our team and acting like Ned Black is a doormat.  This will be Bmt Blues toughest game this year. 

I was curious if anyone had any tenative dates and locations for these 2 events? Thanks

I ran into an acquaintance of mine about a month ago out one night eating with his family.  He is a real nice guy who works at my bank, so I made a point to say hello and meet his family.  He had 3 boys in what I immediately thought to be in the 5-8 years old range that appeared to be athletic to say the least.  I knew he lived in Port Neches area, so I asked him if they played for one of the PNG football teams.  He was quick to say that they did not get involved in that kind of stuff, as it was not the kind of environment he wanted to expose his kids to....  I was caught off guard by his comments and politely asked him what he meant by that statement, as I think football has been a tremendous opportunity for my son.  He went on to state that he refused to expose his kids to all of the drama and politics that goes on between the parents.  I kind of laughed on the inside while politely changing the subject and wishing him and his family a good evening.  I walked back to my family and shared the details of the conversation with my wife, who also was a little dumbfounded by his comments.  I regret laughing at him, because now I see exactly what he was talking about.  The drama that has been going on in this forum is just plain ridiculous.  We all need to remember this football program is more about development and character building than winning football games.  I know people on both sides of the current argument and outside of this forum and football in general, they are fine people.  I don't know any of the coaches on Bmt Blue, but I know every coach in Nederland and they are fine people and I find it extremely unlikely that they were teaching their kids to chop block.  Who knows where the kids involved learned to do it, if they were doing it at all?  We all need to focus on the experience and not the records or titles.  My son has experienced both the joy of being part of a super bowl championship team and playing through a losing season.  Guess what, he had as much fun in the losing season as he did the winning season.  He loves football, his teammates, and his coaches.  I would implore everyone on this forum to stop the finger pointing, name calling, and accusations that are flying in both directions and get back on point to what really matters, making these years and experiences a tool to raise the men of the future.  What they learn today will last so much longer than most of their football careers.  Let's let this post die and move forward to the playoffs and focus on the kids and not our egos....  Take this for what it is worth and spare me the negative comments.  There has been enough of those already...  Best wishes to all for a healthy recovery from their injuries and we'll see you on the field...

Jag, you need to learn to read.  When Nederland Black played PNG in the first round of the playoffs, they scored more points on PNG than any other team UP TO THAT POINT!  Go back and read my post, it says "up to that point".  Another point I need to make is that I never said Nederland Black will beat Bmt.  I am just trying to make all the forum members aware that Nederland Black is a great team.  I never said better than Bmt.

I forgot something their toughes game this yr was against LUM R, BMT beat them 40-6 So lets just keep it real, they are where they belong in the small division!! I really wish big wouldnt have to play small since its been split. The only point i am trying to make is that on any given day a team can be beat but every team makes improvements and BMT B has made major improvements, such as no huddle the entire game, no coaches on the field except with the 7 yr olds bc we are developing a program not a team, and the defense and offense calling their own plays according to what the see across the line!! Nederland Black is not the team they were last year.  They have improved DRAMATICALLY.  However, last years team almost pulled an upset over PNG at the playoffs.  Nederland Black scored more points against PNG in that game than all other teams combined last season up to that point.  I forgot the score, but Nederland was not blown out of the water by any means.  Yes, the same team that won the superbowl over Bmt Blue!  You may beat us eventually in a match up, but they are gonna have to earn it the hard way!

If you are basing all your assessments of Nederland Black off of last years team, you are in for a rude awakening.  This is not the same team by any stretch of the imagination.  My son played on both teams and there is only a handful of players from last years team on this team. Funny note I need to share for all the parents on here, my son is friends with a Bmt Blue player and he spent Sunday afternoon at his friends house.  I asked him if they talked about football,  "Nope, just MineCraft and computers."  Let's keep all this smack talk in perspective...  The kids are what matter here, not all our bickering back and forth...

Hey Bmt, I watched both teams play on Saturday.  I can give credit where credit is due, and yes Bmt Blue is an awesome team.  Is Bmt Blue unbeatable as you portray them to be?  Absolutely not.  That is just being realistic.  After watching both teams play, I came away thinking they were both excellent, but in different ways.  Bmt offense is fast and smooth from what I saw.  Nederland is very aggressive and plays very hard, especially the defense.  I think both teams are great!  It's going to be a great superbowl with those 2 teams playing.  And that's my prediction for the superbowl.  Nederland Black and Bmt Blue.

I have to agree.  They are kids.  They have so much else on their minds most of the time.  One week they are daydreaming during the game, next week you don't know where their fire is coming from...  It is fun to watch them grow...

It was a hard fought game.  Nederland led at half time 7 to 0.  Nederland scored again to bring the score to 13 to 0.  Lumberton scored a touchdown at the last minute to bring the score to 13-6.  Lumberton kicked off to Nederland with 27 seconds left on the clock.  Time ran out after Nederland's first play.  Great game, but I have to give it to Nederland's defense, they were on the Lumberton offense like white on rice.  Two great teams, one great game...
