[/quote] There was no poor coaching...Coach Faircloths first season with us in 2009 brought us an Undefeated season in district, went 2 rounds deep in Playoffs. His second year we went 3 rounds deep and was taken down by Manvel. 3rd year Dayton's kicker took us out the first round. We have had 3 good seasons with Faircloth...and many more to come. [b]He was the OC at Odessa P and had a good record there.[/b] [/quote] It seems that what a number of people are suggesting, yet afraid to come out and say is that perhaps being a good offensive coach doesn't always necessarily make you a great head coach. It would seem to me that a new defensive coach for next year should be a no brainer.  There are too many teams in 20-4A that focus on building strong defensive units year end and year out. You cant just focus on offense and score big points and expect to win. I think that was proven in the Central game. Faircloth is a relative young coach and still learning. I suspect things will turnaround for the tribe and this season will soon be forgotten.

Great kid and great athlete. I wish the Dayton coaching staff would have given this young man the opportunity to break the record in a few of their lopsided wins instead of going for touchdowns - but, many people will still remember this young man for many years to come.  I'm certain we will all be watching this kid on Sunday's in the future.

Just want to congratulate the Vidor Pirates! Those boys have made a mark on the map for the Vidor community. Two back to back playoff appearances the last two years in a row is something to be very proud of. Jeff Matthews has done a great job getting these boys to be part of a program that nobody in 20-4a ( or other districts) are looking past anymore. Although throughout the year, there is smack talk with many of the district opponents; I would like to think that all of us can stand together and celebrate the accomplishments of these HIGH SCHOOL AGED young men. We need to all remember - these are kids who are giving it the best they can and sacrificing a lot of blood, sweat and tears week end and week out. Meeting a tough, large team that is hitting on all cyllendars in the first round and leaving it all on the field, is something that should be celebrated.  I think we will be seeing Vidor in the playoffs for many years to come. These guys and their fans have a taste of what it feels like to be in the top tier of 20-4A and I suspect they will be coming out each year with high expectations. Congratulations Vidor!!
