Yes he will still sit out a year...believe he was granted a release minus Big 12 schools -
Png WR Keynel McZeal verbally commits to…….
KABrother replied to Mr. Buddy Garrity's topic in High School Football
Wouldn't disagree about James being thier top target. Quotes from Horry I have read said A&M wants him at TE...but you never know if they could be just spouting off what the kid wants to hear. You just hope if A&M continues to pursue James and get him they don't "encourage" McZeal to look around... -
Png WR Keynel McZeal verbally commits to…….
KABrother replied to Mr. Buddy Garrity's topic in High School Football
From everything I red A&M is looking at taking 2 TEs this cycle...one on in-line and one as a split out. Today they picked up a commitment from Cameron Horry (son of former NBA player Robert Horry) who is 6'5" 260 lbs. Based off of that it looks like they plan on McZeal being the split out with Horry as an in-line -
Source are now saying the the Balyor BOR is looking into re-instating Briles since "he was not educated on how to handle instances of rape" First off, that is a load of hog wash...if you don't have that kind of common sense you are a friggin moron and shouldn't be in charge of 100 18-22 year olds who feel they are untouchable...I don't care how brilliant you are with a playbook. He was even bringing in transfers who had these issues at their previous schools...was almost like he was looking for these guys. I think it would be very interesting to see what these players requesting releases would do if Briles was reinstated. If they drop their appeal it will appear that they were truly only trying to get out because of Briles and not the circumstances that happened. On a side note, one interesting thing I've seen that will void a NLI is if the school is found to have committed recruiting violations. So if a school does this you can get out of a NLI free and clear...however if you are a current player and a school commits these same violations, you are still bound to the NCAA transfer rules
-
Appeal would actually go back to NLI who is the governing body until the student athlete attends classes. School has 30 days to make a decision on whether or not to grant a release from when when its requested. Then if Baylor regects it, the appeal will be filed and they will take 4-6 to make a decision.

WO-S' Justin Brown offered by Kentucky Christian
KABrother replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Football
Just go on Twitter and search "Kentucky Christian offer" and see the hits that come back...and it's not just Texas they are doing this at...all over the county...saw they even offered a '18 guy from Maryland -

Silsbee's Hudson may not enroll at Baylor/Weighing options
KABrother replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Football
This whole thing is starting to stink very similar to the Penn State fiasco...in that situation the NCAA intervened and allowed everyone to transfer without penalty as part of the sanctions levied against the program...would not be surprised to see something similar here. If so I think it would have a lot more of a damning effect on Baylor than it did on Penn State. You have to remember than many of the players who led the charge had been up to 3rd generation players for Penn State...they were very loyal to that program as it was and had been the top program in the state for quite some time...Baylor doesn't have that. What they do have however are more playmakers who are instant plug-and-play guys at any school in the country. -
Exactly why I said it was no coincidence he left when he did...
-
He needs to head to Warren to go ahead and complete the grandslam lol. But he's been out of coaching for almost 10 years...and don't think him stepping away when he did was any coincidence...he could see talent starting to dry up/move off and go out before his coaching rep took a hit...

WO-S' Malick Phillips receives first college offer
KABrother replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Football
To my knowledge no he didn't...he came in an took a RS then played minimally as a R-Fr then played to an All-Conference caliber the following 3 seasons. All-American RB Kade Harrington already owns almost every rushing school record and many SLC records after his Jr year last season and Lamar was his only offer out of HS...his only other opportunity was a Preferred Walk On spot to Incarnate Word who was D-II at the time. -

There are only 2 former Lamar players that are associated with the NFL at this moment. One is OT Cody Elenz who transferred from Idaho for his Sr year and signed as an UDFA with Atlanta after the draft a few weeks ago. The other is former West Brook WR Reggie Begelton who walked-on at Lamar and set most of the receiving school records. Had their been adequate QB play last season he probably would have broken the few that he didn't get. He had a FA work out with Atlanta and Oakland but haven't heard any news in regards to getting a camp invite. -

I honestly think Coach Woodard gets a bad rap on not recruiting locally...i feel like I've beat this into the ground but many local players don't want to stay here and play...and that is perfectly normal for an 18 year old to want to get out from home and experience college. I believe it was the WO-S WR from last year who told a Beaumont Enterprise reporter that he didn't really have any interest in attending Lamar. If a player tells you that as a coach are you going to continue to pursue that kid when you have others who are interested? Typically Lamar signs a small handful of local HSers and will get 1-2 transfers with local ties. This past cycle they signed 8 locals (if you count Crosby as local), had one committed that flipped to TJC right before signing day, at least 4 more Preferee Walk-Ons I know of and had 2 transfers with local ties. Also had another transfer committed in Terrence Singleton but he recently opted for UL-M instead. They have 4 coaches on staff who have ties to the area in Woodard with Silsbee, Chuck Langston who played at WB and kids go to PN-G, Brian Morgan who is from Port Arthur, and Jeffery Breaux who was a coach a WB before taking the Director of Football Operations job at Lamar. -

From what I've been told he is being evaluated as are several local guys this cycle. They have already extended 5 offers to locals and are still evaluating quite a few more. -
Picked up an offer from Lamar today to go along with offers from Southeastern Louisiana and Louisiana-Monroe. 2nd Lamar offer to a WO-S player in 2 days

Crosby Recruiting Coordinator/OC
KABrother replied to dillonpanthers's topic in High School Football
Coach Nash has "Offensive Coordinator/College and Career Advisor" in his Twitter Bio so it would seem he would be heavily involved with the recruitments. May I asked what happened with Coach Mann? I know he was very active in getting kids looks at all levels of college...and not just Crosby kids. -
Class of 2017: Top 30 Southeast Texas Football Recruits
KABrother replied to hsforlife89's topic in High School Football
Very true. Nothing against the kids but college coaches are going to be a lot more interested in a guy like Corbin Carr (#22) at 6'5" 300 lbs vs Jack Dallas (#3) as a 5'9" QB -
Can a mod please either merge this thread with the other Tony Brown thread or just delete this one? I posted this in the HS section originally and it was moved to here and didn't realize there was one going here.

Looks like more trouble could be on the way in the form of a suspension from the NCAA...no details on why as of yet. [Hidden Content]

Former West Brook Bruin/Lamar Cardinal WR Reggie Begelton mentioned as well. Another former Card there was TE Dillion Barrett who transfered to Ole Miss as a grad transfer in 2015.

Former Yates star shot and killed
KABrother replied to Mr. Buddy Garrity's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Have yet to see race brought into this until that post...also if you are spewing "facts" then that leads me to believe you were there when it happened and you should probably be working with the police to bring a murderer to justice...not informing a message board what the truth is...otherwise it is just as much hearsay as the media reports. -

All the reports I've seen to this point have all said that when the family returned home a young girl walked into her room an there was man with a knife in her room. Then there was a confrontation and the man was shot in the leg. Also seeing this that Swift was no longer part of the TVCC basketball program when this happened. [Hidden Content] -

A.) not passing judgement but what business does he have with a knife in someone else's home when they aren't there? B.) I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that it was to be a burglary if he was armed with that said knife...could have had worse intentions.
