it'll most certainly be an upset if WOS wins.

Pleasant Grove is another, they only lost by 14 to them last year. Last year Athens lost to Carthage 61-56. They’re 4-0 so far this year. I’m just saying, there’s a couple of teams out there that can keep it close under the right circumstances.

there are just a small handful of schools in 4A-D2 that can beat Carthage, and WOS is probably one of them. I'm not talking about beating them 5 out of 10 times, or even 1 out of 10 times, I'm just talking about with the right set of circumstances could pull off the massive upset. Carthage could play their absolute worst game and still beat 99% of the 4A-D2 schools in Texas. But I agree with you, WOS's chances are better than zero. I'd put them at around 1-2%. Might've had that number a little higher before that game they played last week.

When does DCTF put out theirs? I looked on the site but don't see them yet.

seems logical. But Hitchcock always has some dudes. I don't think they're quite as stout as they were a the last several years based on their first 4 results of the season.

HF coasted that game, and LCM gets some credit for that. They really took the air out of the ball, and had some good fortune to continue their two long drives that ate up 1/3 of the game. I think HF had 6 total possessions for the game and never punted. The energy tonight had a different feel, more like the vidor game. More “buzzsawish” 😉

HF is making a habit of leaving teams saying that. Stafford was a “4-pt favorite” over us tonight. Having said that, the rest of vidor’s season has impressed me.

I don’t blame him at all. It’s just weird how everyone got sucked in last year and it somehow carried over to this year despite them not beating even a single decent 4A squad during that time frame.

Shepherd was okay last year and somehow got hyped up because they beat five 3A squads, Tarkington, and jasper. Then they lost a lot of key players. They’ve played awful teams this year to start 3-0, and I guess an 0-3 Madisonville was all it took to expose them.

Stat of the night: HF with 5 rushing touchdowns.

Give me HF 35-24. I think Stafford is good, and they're fast, but they also could easily be 1-2 and are getting some credit beating a couple of schools who aren't quite up to their usual standards. HF beat them 31-14 last year, and while Stafford may be better this year, so is HF.

yeah. but La Vernia finished first in Bay City's district and made it to the state semis and then lost 49-0 to Kilgore. I don't think Bay City's a bad team, but I don't think they'd be ranked if they were anywhere else in the state (except if they were in the valley)

I took NC. It's a toss-up in my opinion.
