West Fork has only played one team with a winning record, and that team beat them 41-7. They're a little better than previous years, but they're on the top-10 list because they couldn't make a top-9 list. They ran out of Houston teams that are actually good. Huffman's loss to them isn't a terrible loss, but it's certainly not worth getting credit for like you're trying to make it out to be. But even if it was a positive result (it's not), the loss to liberty cancels it out and then some.

Sounds like the first case was from Oct 3rd. There's now 3 confirmed cases and 4 suspected. I doubt that it'll be too big of an issue considering most people still get vaccinated against it.

West Fork would finish 4th and Splendora would miss the playoffs in our local 4A-D2 district. Wait, are we talking about the non-Houston Houston area that Huffman belongs to that ISN'T really Houston? They might be some of the top 5A teams in THAT area, because there aren't many others.

Same could be said last year, to be honest. They obviously improved a lot the last couple of years, but for all the hype they've had over these two years their best win during that entire period is going to end up being over a Huffman team that's going to finish this season 6-5 at best.

I agree that it'll affect the lower classifications a lot. That said, I actually will like it in the higher classifications.

I think we're a top-10 team, but it's funny we made it in there after playing our two worst games of the season.

this seems accurate. Having just seen HJ, who appears to be pretty even with Shepherd based on both their schedules and H2H, and WOS in back to back weeks, I'll be shocked if this one is remotely close beyond the 1st quarter. Just like last year, Shepherd is going to struggle once they get to the meat of their schedule. And this Shepherd team is not as good as last year's to begin with.

If Silsbee can get a lot of pressure on Broussard it'll be a dogfight. If HF finds their offensive rhythm early it could be a long night for the Silsbee D. If they'd played the first couple of weeks of the season I think the horns would've won comfortably, but Silsbee has improved every week, as is to be expected from a young team. They're going to be ready to face the horns, so it should be a great game for 2nd place.

perhaps not necessarily legislation, but how about starting wars that nobody wanted? so i guess a bigger issue for the right is that Trump has been given free rein to act terribly, get whoever he wants nominated for any race, even if that means the right will lose a race they should win, and receive adulation from the fringe right, who will support him no matter how badly he acts or fails. some of his executive orders are embarrassing; others have caused damage to the party. Trump has also marked a sharp departure by the right of being the party of decency and morality. While they still don't compare to the left, no transgression is too big as long as it's Trump or someone he supports doing it. That'll hurt the party in the long run as well.

Too much politics is being driven by the fringe right and the fringe left for things to go back to normal. At this point neither side can come up with an idea, no matter how sensible it is, that the other side will agree to. We're going to experience a period of each side pushing radical legislation while they're in office that results in the other side coming into power, nulling that legislation, then pushing their own.

I've already got the next two lined up at HF, unless the 8th grader jumps the freshman in a couple of years, which is a possibility. Both have a ton of potential. Our coach came out to soccer practice sophomore year and TOLD me I was coming to 3-a-days. Still, if someone had worked with me even just a little I could've been really, really good.

I'm sure it's a little tougher. but most places have a good population of Hispanics, which usually bumps the pool of soccer players up. Newton, to be fair, does not have many, but there's got to be a couple of kids in that district who played some soccer growing up. Even if there isn't, if they'd start looking in the 7th grade at kids who show some potential and actually put some work into them, by the time they get to high school they should have a steady stream of at least decent kickers.

This day in age there's really no excuse. I started working with our kicker this year, and he learned how to kick off of tiktok and was all-district last year. with a few tweaks this year he's borderline D-1. He's naturally talented, and natural talent helps a lot, but there's a soccer player at every school in Texas who could be at least decent with about two weeks work.

I think under regular circumstances this is reasonable, but the wind is going to be a factor. I think this game stays a little more competitive than this. But I hope it doesn't.

they won't. but some of them may decide not to vote at all. And for centrists who vote either way, it's not an easy choice. both are bad candidates. there's no reason a race should be this close in Texas.
