HF fought back well. HJ leads 34-31 at the break. Davis is hot about the foul count, which was 11-6, but there weren’t really many questionable calls. Horns rebounded well with samaha playing limited minutes and got several second chance putbacks, and some timely threes to tighten it up -

#13 for the hawks, Brayden Marshall, I believe, with a big first half for the hawks so far -

18-18 at the end of 1. HJ hits a 3 at the buzzer to tie it up. Foul count is 7-2, with the horns in the bonus already. -

Horns up 13-12 at the 3:00 mark of the first. Don’t believe Samaha started, not sure what’s going on with that. He was a huge part of HJ’s win at HF -
Absolutely! I watch several games a week. It’s about the cost of gas and a ticket to go to one away game. Not to mention all the playoff games they show. I’m even going to get to watch my little cousin I’m his state wrestling meet this weekend in Colorado.

5 Memphis police officers charged with murder….

There’s not necessarily a shortage, but is how they’re doing admissions to medical school now, which is pretty terrifying -

Allegedly the same officers beat the crap out of someone else a few days before. Kinda feels like it was just how they did things -

Supposedly all of them had turned off or taken off their body cams during the attack. The most damning video came from a video on a light pole, that was ironically placed in a high crime area to catch criminal acts in progress -

No doubt. I’ve been giving your buddy some credit lately for playing the hand he’s dealt, especially since I’ve heard from some of his players about the difference he makes off the court. Like I said, I’m working on it. -

they have 4 wins against teams with winning records this year, and HJ has 12, with considerably better losses as well. And HJ definitely had a tougher schedule, but the AP tournament was way down this year for whatever reason, and they got a couple of cupcakes there they normally wouldn’t get. That said, HJ undeniably has more talent, so it’s comparing apples and oranges. But I’d say that you’re saying that there are only 4 really bad teams on Lumberton’s schedule is off. -

I’ve really been trying to be more positive on here. I didn’t say anything negative, incorrect, or insulting. You asked if I was surprised (in some effort to call me out, I guess?). I’m not surprised. They went 17-16 with an inarguably soft schedule, and most likely will finish 4th in a 7 team district, and will most likely bow out in the 1st round of the playoffs. I could’ve predicted that 6 months ago. What am I supposed to do here? Pretend I’m surprised, and that they’ve had some master class of a season? They’ve had an okay season. I can’t make it into something it’s not. Good for them for getting back to the playoffs. For what it’s worth, they would’ve likely finished 4th and made the playoffs in our other local 4A district as well, so credit to them for becoming more competitive the last several years. -

Not really. They surprised me last year. This year they’re about where I thought they’d be. A .500ish record and a low playoff seed. If someone had asked before the season (and it might be in writing on the site), I woulda had them 4th or 5th, and it looks like the most likely result is gonna be the 4-seed, unless vidor pulls an upset. If they beat HJ or HF in the first round then they will have surprised me. BC surprised me the most this season. After going 1-11 in district last year, and 12-23 overall, for them to have a winning record and a shot at the 4th playoff spot going into their last game is impressive. -
University Fires Back at Striking Students by Charging Them Tuition (msn.com) Personally, I think it's great. These kids are paid TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS an hour to do graduate assistant jobs around campus, and also get free healthcare, while on average receiving $20K in tuition assistance a year. They're wanting more perks, and a "substantial raise" greater than the 3.5% raise the university is offering them. This is the most ridiculous thing I've heard in like 2 days. From the article: "As the university has advised the Temple University Graduate Students' Association and its members on multiple occasions, graduate students who choose to participate in the strike and not perform the work for which the university employs them will no longer receive compensation and their work-related benefits while they are on strike," Steve Orbanek, a university spokesman, told Newsweek.

And they played against Central, Ozen, Nederland, PNG, etc. for almost the entirety of his time there. Not really sure what your point is. They played against bigger schools for like 20 of his 22 years. And how long were they in 5A before he took over? Also pertinent information.

Record Setting Night for Offense in Oklahoma Game.
bullets13 replied to Tigers94's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Ridiculously low-scoring game in Oklahoma shows the need for shot clocks in high school basketball across the country (msn.com) For those who won't hit the link, Anadarko, Ok held the ball the entire game and lost 4-2, after being down 2-0 at the half. Down 4-2, they held the ball until the final buzzer, missing what would've been a game-winning three against Weatherford, Ok, who moves to 19-1 with the win.
