They have a freshman named Beavers who’s pretty big and talented, and is getting a lot of meaningful minutes. Started out the year on the freshman or jv and has worked his way into the varsity rotation. I used to work with his mom so I’ve been keeping up with him. He’s going to be a player for them over the next three years I believe. -

BC was down as many as 12 in the 3rd, but fought back and cut it to 4 at 43-39 going into the 4th. Time to see if the cardiac kids can strike again -

According to maxpreps, vidor is up 28-21 at the half -
Currently 40-20

Jasper misses a dunk on one end that would’ve cut it to 13, Silsbee gets it and makes two passes and dunks on the other end, then steals the inbound and scores again to go up 19.

Yup, they’re flying up and down the court

33-16 with 3:00 left in the half

Can Hardin Jefferson make it to the Regional Tournament
bullets13 replied to BADSANTA's topic in High School Boys Basketball
I comment on a wide variety of games, game threads, etc. and the only prediction I’ve made about BC in several weeks was that they would improve upon their first performance against Silsbee. -
My buddy got me the stat line from the GCM/PNG game. PNG may not be as good as people were thinking. That game ended 0-0, but GCM outshot them something like 27-0 and had almost 70% possession.

Grand Jury Indicts Man for ATV Death of Child in Terrell Park

I’d still favor HJ in a matchup with beavers and sneed, but can’t argue that on paper it’s close. West Brook has improved vastly this year on a solid squad from last year. That said, the only reason HJ quit beating quality 6A competition is because they had to start district. Would love to see them play a warmup game before playoffs. It’s the only real local matchup that makes sense for either team trying to be challenged before the playoffs start

They’ve been better than I thought they were. I was going off of last season, and the start of this season, where they had a good record, but played a lot of teams in lower classifications to inflate their record. They’ve played a better schedule this year, while also performing better. So it wasn’t a typo, but I do admit that I misjudged them. I still think HJ is the best team in the area, but I’d put WB at #2, where as a couple of months ago I would’ve placed them 4 or 5 probably.

Nikki Haley to Announce Presidential Bid this Month
bullets13 replied to Bobcat1's topic in Political Forum
DeSantis would win the presidency if he got the nomination, but I don't know that he can beat trump, and don't even think he'll necessarily risk running against trump. It makes more sense to wait four more years when he'll be a shoe in. Unfortunately that means that we're probably looking at 4 more years of biden, or whoever his VP is if he dies or becomes completely incompetent. -
Can Hardin Jefferson make it to the Regional Tournament

you've got a big a chip on your shoulder. Everything is criticism or negativity towards BC in your mind, even completely benign posts. One of the most knowledgeable high school basketball minds in our area gives a perfectly reasonable prediction and you immediately chalk it up to him "not liking BC". I made a post the other day simply stating that BC had won a must-win game, and somehow that led to a whole rant about my "negative energy" towards BC (please find a single negative post I've made about the Cards this year, btw). Previously I made a post stating that I liked the Cards' chances against Vidor, and somehow that was "locker room motivation." This may be hard for you to believe, but apart from just being interested observers, there are very few people on this board outside of BC, Jasper, and Lumberton fans that care at all what happens with BC basketball over the next few weeks. I've enjoyed following y'all because of the close games, and the district is fun because there are going to be 3 teams fighting for two spots, but if BC makes it to the playoffs or doesn't, most of us people who you're so concerned with won't care a whole lot one way or the other. -
meaningless typo from 2 1/2 months ago. Accidentally imposed BH's record at the time on them. But, you're correct, they were never 9-5.
