Lots of insults in this thread from both sides... if we can't debate/converse without them, warnings will be issued. I saw them last night, but didn't have time to deal with it, and it looks like another moderator has been busy in the thread already. Without a doubt both parties try to discredit each other. But never in the history of American politics has a politician indulged in the insane, delusional ranting and raving that he's been up to for the last couple of years. You can throw all of the frivolous lawsuits in as well. Never has a politician on either side tried to install hundreds of handpicked politicians throughout the country in every race imaginable, while working to discredit their opponents of the same party. And then when that didn't work out, cue more insane speeches, online posts, etc. You're right that I don't like the guy, but I've voted for him twice. That doesn't mean that his behavior isn't extremely alarming, especially since there's a good possibility that he'll be the republican nominee for president in 2024.

When you're 20-8, and 6 of your 8 losses have come to 6A schools (5 of those with solid to excellent records), and your other two have come to good 5A schools, I think top-25 is okay. They could've easily scheduled a couple of creampuff tournaments and be 26-2 right now.

in 21-6A, I'll say that my biggest surprise is Beaumont United. I thought they'd have a really good season, and figured they'd be competing for a district title, but I was expecting them to have some close games and drop a game or two. They haven't even really looked challenged yet, and this is a solid district. In 17-5A, Nederland has been a surprise and disappointment, and so has Crosby. Nederland went 3 rounds deep last year after finishing 3rd in district, and Crosby finished 2nd in the district and were regional finalists, losing to BU for the shot at going to state. This year these two teams are a combined 3-11 midway through district. I don't follow this district closely, but have been very surprised with the results. I understand that teams lose a lot to graduation sometimes, but I can't even remember the last time Nederland missed out on the playoffs. In 20-4A, HJ/HF appear to be ready to battle it out for first, with Huffman coasting into 3rd. This is how I would've predicted things at the beginning of the season. That said, Hamshire-Fannett plays Huffman and HJ this week, so we'll know more Friday, as they'll officially be halfway done with the distrct, with all of the realistic challengers having played each other once. 19-4A is a giant, fun to watch cluster. I think this is my favorite district this year. After Silsbee, anybody can beat anyone at any given time. WOS is 0-6, but have played Vidor, Lumberton, Jasper, and BC to within 10 points. Vidor is 1-5, but could just as easily be 3-3 right now. Jasper is 3-3 and can beat anyone but Silsbee. LCM is 3-3 but SHOULD beat anyone but Silsbee. BC and Lumberton are tied for 2nd at 4-2, and both picked up massive wins against those bears. Three of BC's wins have come by a combined total of 7 points, which I think is a lot of fun. Lumberton has bounced back from a slow start, and a tough year last year, and have put themselves in a good spot to head back to the playoffs as well. Apart from Silsbee winning the district, and LCM probably finding a way to finish 2nd, I honestly don't know what to think about how the rest of the district will finish. It's just so clustered and competitive. Vidor and WOS feel like they could find ways to pull off some wins in the second half of district that will effect the playoff hopes of other teams. Lumberton, Jasper, and BC all could realistically go anywhere from 4-2 to 2-4. The interesting part will be seeing which teams keep it together, which teams rise up, and which teams falter.

Silsbee won by 41 at Bridge City in their first matchup, and have won every district game by at least 26 points. The Cards have been playing some solid basketball of late, but Silsbee is just on a whole other level compared to everyone else in the district. I think BC can improve on their performance from their first matchup, but still expect Silsbee to win by 30ish points.

Pretty absurd. He was respectful about it. Nobody should be forced to be woke. If they'd have had a "back the blue" night, the same folks crapping all over Provorov would herald a player who refused to participate as a hero.

Is there a reason Duncanville is unranked when by all appearances they should be #1? Wins over #1 Lake Highlands, #17 SA Brennan, #10 DeSoto, Top-10 in the nation Columbus out of Miami, and Top-10 in the nation Coronado out of Cali. They have a 20-1 record, unless maxpreps is missing some games?

The fact that there are a lot of conservatives who are excited about him leading is a bit mind blowing. There's about 10 democrats in the entire country that i'd like his chances against in the next election, and the dems are going to make sure none of them gets the nomination. It's rare that the I give the left credit over the right, but they actually learned from losing an easily winnable election because their candidate was so hated. The right appears poised to give it a second try, just to make sure.

This hasn't aged well. HH actually played HJ closer last year. Would like your input, though. FWIW, Huffman isn't coming within 40 of Waco La Vega, either. They're beyond legit, and every bit as good, if not better, than HJ.
