Kind of expect Lufkin to pull this one out. If it was at the end of the season with the whole team having had more time to gel together, I'd pick Silsbee. Won't be surprised either way, though.

14-0 Duncanville by 13, who's set to play in the 6A D1 State championship, 13-2 DeSoto by 1, who's set to play in the 6A D2 state championship game this week. Their "bad loss" was Lancaster 21-3, who could've easily made a run to state this year as well, but lost a close one in the 3rd round to undefeated Reedy. It's also worth noting these were SOC's first three games of the season. I'm rooting for PNG, but their schedule doesn't hold a candle to the one that SOC has played. SOC also beat Parish Episcopal, who won the TAPPS D1 championship, and beat the likes of Aledo, China Spring, and LBJ Austin this year. Their playoff run included wins over Dallas area schools Lovejoy, Midlothian Heritage, Melissa, and Argyle. It could be (reasonably) argued that PNG is the 7th or 8th toughest opponent on SOC's schedule this year. That said, PNG has been playing incredible football, and they've earned their right to play this game. While I don't think PNG would've advanced through the side of the bracket that SOC did, they're playing well enough right now that if things go right they can beat anyone. I'm definitely pulling for them!

To be fair, he didn't free Paul Whelan, who was detained in the middle of his presidency. So I guess leverage doesn't apply as well to Russia. But the point is definitely well taken that he didn't deliver a Russian arms dealer back to Russia, either.

Of course it isn't. If they can get the merchant of death for an america-hating wnba player that half the country can't stand, what will they be able to get in the future for a marine? A president with a backbone would make sure he was on the table, or there would be no table. But I don't believe for a second that Whelan was ever a priority for Biden. Others hit the nail on the head when they stated that Biden's motivation here was to gain more support from certain demographics, and nothing to do with justice or rescuing an American who was in trouble.

It's an outrage that Paul Whelan is still there.

What happened at Summer Creek to have them ranked so high this early in the season following up a 16-12 season with a 2nd round exit from the playoffs? Move ins or something?

They also beat 4A Carter by 4. Yes, Carter is #1 in 4A, but I think the #6 team in 6A should wipe the floor with them. United beat the #2 5A team by 7, and if this was 5A again this year, I'd give them a very good shot at returning to state. I just don't know about that with all of the quality 6A teams in their region that @AggiesAreWe mentioned above.

I'm hoping for one, but BU played a bunch of squeakers in the playoffs last year. 4 of their last 5 playoff wins were by less than 5 points, including that 3OT luckout against GCM. Their opponents are going to be much harder this year from the 3rd round on than they were last year.

it honestly depends on what your definition of "get it done" means. Will they have a good record, and win a few playoff games? Do they have a decent chance of winning district? Yes. So if that's what you're asking, then yeah. Does getting it done mean they win state again? That's highly unlikely. They're still a very good team, but 6A is a different animal. BU's 9-1 record is good, but half their games have come against 4A squads, who they haven't exactly been dominating. I think they'll drop a few district games against 6A opponents this year. As a whole they're still better than most of the 6A schools in the state, and I'm hoping for another deep run from them, but I don't see them beating whatever team comes out of the Dallas area in the playoffs, if they make it that far.

I pretty much can only tolerate store bought turkey, no matter how it’s prepared. That said, chicken fried wild turkey is in my top 5 favorite dishes of all time. Not sure why the flavor is so different.

My thoughts (more what ifs) on it not being the roommates: it would be almost impossible to violently stab four people, some of whom fought back, using a slippery, blood-covered knife and not sustain at least superficial cuts and scratches. On top of that, it would be almost impossible to not track blood back through the house into your designated area where you then are pretending to not know anything about what happened. Without a doubt the police looked at the roommates closely and immediately, and it doesn’t appear they found evidence of their involvement. Any obvious evidence would’ve likely led to an arrest by now.

You definitely know more than me, no argument there. Just kinda feels like a lot of the ranked teams beating Silsbee are ranked using similar parameters as Silsbee’s ranking: playing and losing to good teams and not being punished for the losses in the rankings.
