  1. Disagree there. a lot more bad outcomes than good at that point. Get another penalty, turnover, take too long and time runs out, etc.
  2. Sheesh. Would’ve been good from 5 yds closer
  3. I live by right and wrong. I live a better life and have done more for more people that your average Christian. I have no issue with you holding your beliefs, but you're not going to force them on me any more than you're going to let me force mine on you.
  4. No, because I'm every bit as confident that that time won't come as you are that it will. I have nothing against Christianity. My wife and kids go to church, and I encourage them to go. They enjoy it, which I think is great. I do take exception when certain good Christians use their religion as a weapon against select sins, all the while living their own sinful lifestyles without a care in the world. My kids won't be like that. That will be the only teaching regarding religion that I will impart on them as their father.
  5. they'll also go nowhere if Christians refuse to acknowledge that people can inherently be good, and understand the difference between right and wrong without using the Bible as their guide.
  6. one doesn't need the bible to know that these are wrong, and Christianity is not needed to create laws against them. Do you see no difference between these crimes that hurt people, vs. allowing two consenting adults to get married?
  7. Our founding fathers worked very hard to ensure that there was a separation of church and state. All of your examples were added much later by conservative members of govt, and have nothing to do with the intentions and beliefs of our founding fathers. History is full of examples of the founding fathers working to keep the government from reflecting principles of Christianity.
  8. I'd say 60/40. Aledo has a decent shot against them for sure. Plus their roster is full of players who've been in the big games in years past.
  9. 1. Galena Park North Shore 2. Katy 3. DeSoto 4. Dripping Springs 5. Longview 6. Fort Bend Marshall 7. Melissa 8. China Spring 9. Chapel Hill 10. Boerne 11. Silsbee 12. Carthage 13. Wimberley 14. Franklin 15. Newton 16. Canadian 17. Gunter 18. Poth 19. Timpson 20. Tolar 21. Refugio 22. Mart 23. Albany 24. Burton 25. Westbrook
  10. Was wondering the same thing. aledo’s lost about 7 games in 8 seasons, and their two losses this year are to the #1 big school private and the #1 6A school in the state. Not only CAN they beat Longview, it’s about even money that they do it IMO.
  11. If they put in their backups the whole second half and allowed you to cut a 54 lead to 24, you can't really be mad if those backups score a touchdown at the end.
  12. I heard the officiating at the HF/PNG game was atrocious, but wasn't there to verify. The horns definitely need their football players. Their bench is only a couple of players deep right now, and too much of a load is being placed on a couple of players.
  13. Might’ve jumped the gun on HF being as good as I thought. HJ beat Nederland by just about this many. But it was the loss to PNG that really surprised me.
  14. Looked like Lumberton had finally figured out a way to stop a good offense, but CH figured them out in the end. They also turned things around with their own defense in the second half. Lumberton has nothing to be ashamed of, they had a heck of a season.
  15. Think I dropped 20 this week. Curious to where it puts me.
  16. Daingerfield beat harmony by 4 touchdowns. If Newton plays even a pretty good game they’ll be fine. But like you said, if they overlook them, anything can happen. A 3-7 team only gave up 7 points in regulation and took cuero to OT in the first round, so you can never take anyone too lightly once you make the playoffs.
  17. They’re a pretty good team who played a tough schedule pre-district. They’ve squeaked by a couple of teams in the playoffs. Newton is pretty fortunate to end up with this matchup this deep.
  18. 1. Galena Park North Shore 2. Humble Atascocita 3. Katy 4. Sheldon C.E. King 5. Longview 6. Aledo 7. Mansfield Timberview 8. Fort Bend Marshall 9. Port Neches-Groves 10. Lumberton 11. Kilgore 12. Cuero 13. Silsbee 14. Carthage 15. Llano 16. Whitesboro 17. Newton 18. Bells 19. Gunter 20. Joaquin 21. Timpson 22. Lovelady 23. Chilton 24. Rankin 25. Oakwood
  19. Tough matchup for my horns. They may be outmanned in this one, but there’s no quit in this team. I hate to say it, but I expect to see a game similar to the Silsbee game, with HF playing their hearts out and giving Cuero all they can handle, but coming up a hair short at the end.
  20. I think we’re far enough into the season with enough results to say that HJ is still clearly better than BH. HJ is 7-2 with an OT loss to #11 9-0 6A Cinco Ranch, and a 6 point loss to #3 10-1 6A Summer Creek, a state semifinalist last year. BH is 9-5 with losses to #24 Judson (who HJ beat), West Brook, Cy Ranch, #19 Houston Memorial, and San Antonio Johnson. All 6A schools, but West Brook is 9-5, Memorial 7-6, and Johnson 5-4. Memorial beat them by 30.
  21. That’s why I said every real team. Every team with a good offense has scored lots of points on them.
  22. Long year for L-town? This is the same Dayton team that HF beat by 54 and BH beat by 45. Or a bunch of starters still playing football maybe?
