  1. My thinking on that field goal is this: your defense has only allowed one touchdown all game. If you go for it and fail, LA wins with a touch down and a fg. If you kick the field goal, they need two touchdowns in 5 1/2 minutes to win. I agreed with the call in that particular scenario.
  2. This Dallas pass rush is terrifying. The defense is responsible for the 4-1 record. They’ve allowed 5 touchdowns in 5 games. That’s pretty insane. They haven’t played weak teams this year. Tom Brady, the two teams from last year’s Super Bowl, and the giants, who are 4-1. Rush has filled in well, but he’s nothing but a game manager. Give him credit for not turning the ball over, but 4 touchdowns in 4 1/2 games is not great. If Dak comes back and can even be pretty good, this team can make some noise
  3. I had a feeling the ags could stay in this against a backup qb. All of their QBs are backups, so they’re used to playing with one, but Bama is not.
  4. And it’s a valid point, but the teams with losing records on the schedule in question are not. One or two might be almost decent.
  5. Yup, what AAW said. WOS is 3-4, with one of the tougher schedules in the state so far. And 5-30 will never be comparable to 30-5. I get the point that 5-30 against better opponents is not the same as 5-30 against good opponents, but EC’s opponents have lost to plenty of average and bad teams. EC has obviously beaten the very easy opponents in front of them, but not by the margins they would’ve in previous years, and a 41 point loss to HF is unheard of. Thus, they are down this year compared to last year. I picked them to beat Buna, for what it’s worth.
  6. Understandable. The good news is, they have a ton of experience on that team. And they ARE winning. I’m not sure why they’re not playing at quite the same level as last year (apart from Caesar being gone), but they still have the potential to keep winning and finish with a good season. They’re definitely going to have to play more like last year than they have this year if they’re going to avoid finishing third in the district, though
  7. HF, the only good team EC has played this year, beat them 41-0. HF has 5 wins. The 5 teams EC has beaten also have 5 wins. Combined. EC is 5-1, with their 5 wins coming against teams with a combined 5-30 record (2 of their opponents played each other, so one was guaranteed to win or they would likely be 4-31). EC’s current signature win is a 2-touchdown win over 2-5 Buna. They’ve probably played the easiest schedule in the state to this point. If EC had started their season this year with their first 6 opponents from last year, they’d like be 1-5, 2-4 at best. It is what it is. Nobody is saying EC is terrible, but they’re absolutely down from last year.
  8. He’s the real deal. The horns are that one semi-dirty hit away from 6-0 and a top-5 ranking right now. Pretty disappointing
  9. Bellville doesn’t want them first round. It’s been a tough year, but WOS is loaded with talent. IF they figure some stuff out, they’re still a tough out for anyone who has to face them in the playoffs. WOS always plays an incredibly tough pre-district schedule, but this would’ve been a good year to scale it back some and give the kids a chance to succeed while learning some new schemes. It’s a possibility that with getting to play HJ and BC in 2 of their last 3 games they get some momentum going into the playoffs. And WOS absolutely could beat Jasper as well. Jasper squeaked by HF and lost worse to Newton than WOS did. Finish on a 3-0 run and maybe find a little success in the playoffs. I know it’s been a rough transition year for the stangs, but they still have all the potential in the world on that team. Time will tell.
  10. It’s possible. The shooter was in his 50s, and the victim in her 20s. So it seems less likely it was that, but certainly still a possibility. I was wondering if the dad and shooter had some sort of argument, and she was maybe collateral damage.
  11. This is a game where the gulf in talent is so wide that it won’t be close, regardless of the decisions made on the sidelines. I’ll take WOS, 48-7
  12. Will be curious to see if more comes out about what caused this. The news is stating that it was some sort of domestic situation, with the shooter knowing the two victims. The victims were father and daughter, with the daughter being killed inside of the trailer, and police finding the father injured outside. When the police attempted to help the father, the shooter stepped out and took a shot at them. Two officers then used ballistic shields to reach the injured victim, at which time the shooter popped back out and tried to shoot at them again, and was subsequently shot and killed by a 3rd officer who was providing cover for the other officers.
  13. I get that I’m more of a “liberal” conservative than many of you on this site, but stuff like this is nauseating to me. Ten years ago when being liberal meant you thought a couple of consenting adults could do what they want, and maybe get insurance for their partner, I was all for it. It’s mind blowing to me that being a liberal now means you have to agree with allowing sex changes for minors and being okay with someone identifying as a shoe and marrying their pet goat. It’s pure insanity!
  14. I don’t think the formula will work in a game where the thread wasn’t set up by the site, if that makes sense. That said, don’t forget your !!: at the start of your score
  15. Robertson has 15 picks, or the titans as a team? If it’s just Robertson, that has to be on the way to some sort of state record
  16. That is pretty interesting. Never would’ve thought multiple 26-21 score lines could bring about that possible scenario. Would assume at the point it’s probably a coin flip, especially if there’s nothing else in place beyond that tiebreaker
  17. I watched some of this on NFHS. Huffman looked for awhile like they had gotten back into it. Overcame a pick in the end zone to tie it up at 21 pretty late in the half. Then they gave up a quick drive, and then blocked nobody on a punt from their end zone, which combined with a bad snap led to a blocked kick. HH then proceeded to watch 4 Livingston players play hot potato with the ball for about 5 seconds before finally recovering it for a touchdown, and that was pretty much the beginning of the end, with them going into halftime down two scores just a couple of minutes after it looked like they’d get to the half tied. Huffman is definitely down some this year, but there’s no doubt that Livingston is also up.
  18. Great win for the horns! WOS never gave up, and came really close to pulling it off, but the defense bent without breaking!
  19. I hear you there. That was actually a pretty good win.
