  1. Sure thing. Probably no point in commenting on every single post I make, then šŸ˜‰ and lastly, we saw different games because we have different levels of interest in the outcome, but I’ve posted the factual evidence that I’m not just ā€œbeing a Homerā€. This isn’t evadale vs Silsbee where a few missed calls are irrelevant, like you’re trying to make it out to be. It’s two very even teams on the biggest stage, and noticeable umpire biased, even if it’s coincidental, is an issue. The corresponding adjustments that one team HAS to make, and one team GETS to make, is also an issue. If the umps can’t call a decent game, get robo umps.
  2. If it doesn’t cost your team a game, and I clearly stated that there’s no way to know that this had any effect on the outcome in this one, there’s not much reason to complain. You can poke away, it doesn’t bother me. Although in this case I don’t think it’s really fair to say that I’m playing the woulda coulda shoulda game, other than stating the fact that the umpire shoulda done better.
  3. We’d be (understandably) hearing about from the diamondbacks fans, and a lot of stros fans, based on the celebrations I saw last night from them, if it had been reversed. Maybe you’re one of the purists who could watch a stros game where their opponent was getting a noticeably more generous strike zone and say to yourself, ā€œeh, just part of the game!ā€ It bothered me. What can I say?
  4. Nobody is saying the umpires cheated. But 12 missed calls in the world series, with 10 going against one team, is not acceptable. The diamondbacks are playing great, they don’t need any extra help.
  5. Just saw the report. He missed 12 calls, and 10 went against the rangers. In a game that was 2-1 going into the 7th, that’s pretty dang significant, and as good as Kelly was, there’s no way that didn’t play a part. There was absolutely help from the ump. Gotta be better than that in the World Series.
  6. I’m curious to see the umpire scorecard in this one. I missed most of the game, but saw a bunch of stuff on Twitter about Kelley getting a really generous strike zone vs the rangers pitchers being squeezed. Montgomery somehow pitched 6 innings without recording a single strikeout, which is pretty crazy. I get that it was 9-1, but most of that came late off of our bullpen scrubs. I’m not making excuses or saying this changed the outcome, but I’ve watched probably 100 games this year and it’s time for robo-ump to call balls and strikes I think.
  7. For what it’s worth, it doesn’t seem like there was THAT much in the final play. Guy was bringing him down right about on the out of bounds line, two Silsbee guys running in kinda bumped into each other as they were slowing up and then the kid who was making the tackle’s legs took them both out and they ended up falling into the players involved. Seems like the bench was a bigger issue there than anything else.
  8. I missed 4, and everyone ahead of me missed 6 or more, as best I can tell. I was 5 back going into today. Hitting on Barbers Hill, Kirbyville, and Legacy was huge, plus the Beaumont bowl tossup and Joaquin
  9. I got you at 6, plus lucky on one of the freebies. Humble, PAM, Dayton, Coldspring, Kountze, West Sabine. Lee didn’t count
  10. Made up some serious ground tonight!
  11. The beautiful thing about the rangers lineup is that everyone else in it is at least pretty good as well.
  12. Let’s go! What a game! And shockingly, the bullpen won that one for us as much as the bats. 6.1 innings, 2 hits, 0 walks, 0 runs!
  13. Thought real hard on this one, but couldn’t pull the trigger
  14. Was about to say šŸ˜€šŸ˜€
