  1. I don't know you, have never mentioned your name on the site, and don't have an issue with any of the reasons you've stated on here. I've heard only good things about you, and respect the fact that you come on here and say who you are. That said, I'm still in agreement with Knox about not wanting a coach who always has a reason to leave. I'm not about to debate a man about what's in his own head and heart, but I think your record speaks for itself in two ways. 1. You're a good coach that 2. doesn't stay in one place. I'm not going to dissect every reason you've posted, but reading them I'd think there's a good chance there will be another reason that comes up causing you to move on to the next school, especially if it's an upgrade. If I were at OF, I would be hesitant to hire someone who has a history of not staying in one place, no matter how good of a track record they have as a coach. I work in education, and often serve on interview panels, and it's always a red flag when a teacher turns in an application with a job history full of one-year stints and a bunch of different schools. Coaching isn't any different in that aspect. All that said, you have a working relationship with those at the school, and are a proven winner, so you do have a nice inside track towards the job. I wish you the best of luck, whether it be at OF or elsewhere.
  2. Yup. Or some districts Might extend the school year a week, have the students attend select Fridays at the beginning of the year, and cut a day or two off of this or that break. As a teacher, I'm holding out hope that I get the opportunity for a 4-day work week at some point before I retire.
  3. He’s a polarizing coach, but from what I’ve heard and seen from lumberton, they love him there. I think most of the criticism comes from outside that community. I’ve been guilty of it myself, but through some of the conversations I’ve had on here, I’ve heard almost all positives from people in and around the program.
  4. He’s got a really good thing going where he is. The community and kids are bought in.
  5. EC might have a couple of down (for them) years, but from what I hear they have some kids 5-6 years out that will have them as good or better as they’ve been the last few years
  6. Furious Portland residents say Democrat-backed bill would allow homeless camps to terrorize communities (msn.com) The basic gist of this is that if someone asks a homeless person to move from a public place (for example, the stoop of their restaurant, or the sidewalk in front of their house), said homeless person will be allowed to sue them for up to $1000. House Bill 3501, commonly known as the "Right to Rest Act," would allow "persons experiencing homelessness" to "use public spaces in the same manner as any other person without discrimination based on their housing status" with an "expectation of privacy."
  7. I think some fan bases typically are worse than others, but every school has at least 1 or 2, and it only takes 1 or 2. When there's more than that it's a nightmare.
  8. parents are part of the job, and bad ones can be as unappealing as bad players.
  9. I found them on facebook. They didn't want to be white. That said, lots of interesting things in the comments of some of their friends and families. People accusing the victim's girlfriend of sleeping with the shooter, who was supposedly one of the victim's best friends.
  10. I have a pretty good idea where he is.
  11. that's tough. prayers for the family and community.

  13. After a little blip on the radar the Rangers took 3 of 4 from the yanks, including a 15-2 spanking yesterday. DeGrom on the DL is a blow, but they got a 3-hit shutout from Eovaldi, and two other solid starts in the series. Seager is getting close to coming back, which will be a boost to an offense that is already raking.
  14. My cousin's ex-wife/baby mama was on there with her new lesbian girlfriend about 25 years ago. Good times.
  15. When I read this, I assume they already know who the persons of interest are. If that's the case, there's no reason to issue descriptions, or even names at this point.
  16. I agree with this. I have some friends who had a child that was born with a rare disorder that is fatal inside of two years, always. The child was in constant pain, had no quality of life, no ability to communicate, etc. etc. etc. The child suffered for about 16 months, financially and emotionally ruining the family in the process, and then died, having never known anything other than pain. Another scenario: if one of my daughters had terminal cancer, and after all hope was lost, decided that they were tired of fighting, of being in a type of pain that medicine could barely touch, I would let them make that decision (even at 7 and 10). Because keeping them around would be for own selfish reasons, and no different than people I know who wait too long to put their pets down, as they suffer silently.
  17. Biden caught with crib notes detailing reporter's question prior to calling on her during press conference (msn.com)
  18. In regards to BU, I don’t see them at state next year. They’ll still be really good, but I think losing Yates and Porchia will be too much to overcome. That said, with Dotson and Payia as seniors, they’ll still have a lot to offer, and could make a deep run. They’ll have another very good season if they stay healthy.
  19. They have “4 persons of interest”, according to the news
  20. yeah, that one hurt.
  21. beat me to it! Especially that prom my sophomore year (older date) that fell on my birthday...
  22. according to some folks most of the right wants trump to run again. Wanting to vote for him and having to vote for him are two different things, and at this rate that's going to apply to both candidates in the next election.
  23. Yup. Could have a heck of a winning streak right now if they'd found a way to close those two out.
  24. I remember that team. HJ was really good then, but never could get over the Jasper hurdle.
  25. Voters say neither Biden nor Trump should run in 2024 - Reuters/Ipsos (msn.com)
