I think you're safe to put them top 3. Seeing as WB beat them by 20 this year, and they backed out of their matchup with HJ, that's about all I'm willing to give them at this point. HJ has made it just as far as them in the playoffs. They're both probably going to lose their next games. If BH advances and HJ loses, I'd say you could make a decent argument, although I still think a healthy HJ is a slight favorite against them. I'll definitely concede that BH has improved a lot from the start of the season. 3 weeks into the season I thought HJ was 20 points better than them. Now I think it would be a great game. To be fair, no beavers for the last month has brought HJ down some. She's back, but not sure that she's all the way back yet.

Feels like the end of the line for HJ and their runs to state. La Vega is as good as any 4A team as they've faced over the past 4 years or so, and this HJ team, while still excellent, doesn't feel like it's on quite the same level that they've been on the last 3 years. I'll be pulling for the Hawks, though!

Lumberton had a decent game plan coming in, but once HJ got a decent lead they just didn’t have the players to run with them

Hawks have been able to speed it up in the second. Up 29-20 with 2:00 to go in the half. Lumberton has drawn three charges, but has also given up several easy baskets because they’re going down pretty easy at the first hint of contact.

Tied at 11 after one. Lumberton dictated the pace for most of the first quarter, but HJ was able to speed it up a little at the end

Palestine has a better team than their record indicates. They’ve lost 10 games, but most of them have been to excellent teams. That said, they’ve lost by a lot to those teams, and I’m shocked they did that to Silsbee.

Believe she aggravated a pre-existing injury to her ankle a few weeks ago. I think she’s supposed to be cleared to play either their next one or the game after. whether she’ll be 100% or not is another question. They’ll definitely need her if they’re going to make it back to state.

Lamar has won 3 of their last 5, and played NW state close during that span. Showing some signs of life
