not at all. you said "don't try to make me out to be a bad person". I'm not trying to make you out to be a bad person, but statements like "he should get his gun back with two notches cut in the butt" and that you'd like to have the gun as a trophy don't make you look good. those statements don't have anything to do with me at all.
-
Pretty wild stuff. I need to talk to my buddy and see if he had to respond to that one.
-
I'm not making you out to be anything, but it's not a good look for you.
-
He's had offers. I think this is a public display that he's not going to profit off of the gun.

Both the left and the right are using this to try and make political statements. The left wants to appear that the court is ordering this done as some sort of justification that Rittenhouse did something wrong, and the right is trying to make it out that his property is being unjustly destroyed against his will. The fact of the matter is that he doesn't want the gun to be bought and sold like a trophy. It's obvious that this would happen, and there are at least two comments in this thread stating as much. In a way this IS a stunt, as I'm sure there are people in Rittenhouse's ear telling him that it would look best if he went ahead and had the gun destroyed.

Hardin-Jefferson 74 Huffman-Hargrave 62/FINAL

Hawks kinda coasted through most of the second half, and Huffman made a few big shots to cut the gap a little. Much better effort from HH this game, but HJ won a little easier than the score will suggest. -

Hawks turned it up there, and got hot from deep. Realized these refs are really big fans of questionable offensive fouls and drew a few. -

They look a lot better tonight. Hawks a little off. HH doing a good job of breaking the press so far. -
you're still the only football poster on this site who's delusional enough to think that football success should be measured by state championships at PNG. your explanation of "good and bad" is inherently bad.

If you're not him, you're his mom or best friend. And you can't NOT take into account someone's record as a head coach. I'm willing to take into consideration that a program might need turning around, and that a coach might need a season or two to implement his program and see notable progress. But when a coach takes over a 5-5 team, goes 4-6 the next year, and then in years 3,4,5 combines to go 1-29, you better believe I'm taking that into consideration. All this "heroic" nonsense is laughable. He only coached at Eastwood for one season. if helping out those less fortunate kids was the goal, you'd think he would've stuck around for awhile. You can't really take credit for working in the squalid conditions (under-privileged, no weight room!) when you dip after one season. I'm not really at all sure what's heroic about taking over a 5-5 rayburn team. The guy who replaced him and took over his 28 or 29 game losing streak the next year and won two games seems more "heroic" to me.

Interesting concept, but you're not taking into account the cost of all of the staff needed for the game, the cost of electricity to run the lights, the cost of all of the equipment for the players, maintenance on the field and stadium, the cost of trainers, etc. etc. etc., not to mention the cost of gas to run the players around in busses, the payment to all of the coaches who wouldn't even be there without football, and many more expenses. High school football isn't making any money for the overwhelming majority of schools in Texas, it's costing them money. Each student that shows up to class is drawing ADA money from the state. while a teacher may not "make money for the school", they actually do the work that schools are designed for.
-
For "not being him" you sure have all the deets about him. Unfortunately his coaching record is going to be a nonstarter for a program that's used to winning records and going to the playoffs. Well, maybe not. They just ran off a guy who does that. Maybe they're looking for a guy with a heart of gold and connections to the program from way back. If so, you, i mean he, might be the man!

I'm fairly confident this man has considerably more basketball and coaching experience than you. Then again, he may not be who I think he is (but I'm fairly sure it's who I think it is). -

That explains the third quarter. what about the 4th? I'm sure there's a reason for these players being benched. -
Biden Holds Slim Lead Over Trump, Pence in 2024 Race but Lags Behind Generic GOP Candidate (msn.com) From the article: But the poll also showed Biden faring better with prominent GOP figures. In a hypothetical rematch of the 2020 election, Biden would best Donald Trump 45-to-44 percent if the next presidential race were held today. And against former Vice President Mike Pence, Biden held a 2-point lead. The president's chances were even better against Texas Senator Ted Cruz and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, with Biden leading those two Republicans by 6 points and 5 points, respectively.

Faircloth Resigns as PNG Head Coach & athletic Director

I don’t disagree with this. There are just a lot of people talking up the png job like some established, winning coach is going to fall all over himself to come get the faircloth treatment -

I know a lot of trump fans who loved it. Thought it was hilarious. Far more than 2.35%. But plenty also do/did what you are saying. -

I know plenty of people who celebrated it. But I know your stance on his behavior. We don’t always agree on things, but our takes on trump are closer than you might think. -

depends on your definition of quality. there are plenty of solid assistant coaches looking for their first gig. there are established coaches looking to come back to this area, etc. But "quality" coaches in good situations aren't going to be lining up to come coach in a daddy ball system. I guarantee just about every coach in the state, and certainly in the region, knows exactly what went down with Faircloth. If I'm a young up and comer, or maybe an older assistant who's never been given a shot, it's worth the risk. But no way in hell I'd leave a good gig to coach there. -

can't really pretend to be outraged about this if you've spent the last year making a big deal about Trump's behavior not being important, right? The right has criticized the left and centrists constantly for being upset about mean tweets, but are quick to jump on Biden for this. And yes, Biden sucks, so don't get the wrong idea. That said, the left should be the ones criticizing creepy joe for being mean, and they're all pumped up about it. They're hypocritical, too. -

to be fair, if it was trump you guys would be backslapping and high fiving. that said, yes, this was classless from creepy joe. just pointing out that pretty much every time Trump did something like this most of you guys would jump to defend him. -
He's dominating that region with the same demographics and talent pool as the rest of them. It's unrealistic to expect him to somehow compete against the teams from Austin, Dallas, Houston, etc. It's not like he's got a team from Katy over there or something pounding all the crappy teams.
