  1. Some sort of delay. Umpire possibly having some issues with the heat.
  2. BH works around a 1-out walk and sends it to the bottom of the 5th down 7-6. Bottom of the order coming up for BH
  3. Barbers Hill just misses a homerun, but get a run in on a double off the wall. Amarillo up 7-6 going to the 5th. 8,9,1 due up for the Sandies.
  4. Line out to center to end the top of the 4th. BH comes up in the bottom half down 7-5
  5. Barbers hill gives up 3 in the 3rd, goes quietly in the bottom half. Amarillo with 2 outs and runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the 4th up 7-5
  6. Huh? Everything in this thread has been pretty benign. Care to let us know which comment was idiotic?
  7. totally agree. I was referencing adults complaining about it being thrown at adults, while they soak up shoot em ups glorifying murder, or movies with all kinds of heterosexual adult themes, etc.
  8. Didn’t expect this start from two 10-1 pitchers, but their defenses haven’t helped them
  9. Barbers Hill getting knocked around early. Down 4-0, runner on 1st, only one out in the top of the 1st
  10. Totally get it. I can't watch nascar at all. I play a little golf, so I don't mind watching it, especially the majors. If I didn't play golf it would bore me to tears to watch it. Because I play it a little I can appreciate what they're doing. Soccer is kind of the same way. When I see someone cut the ball with the outside of their foot and send it 40 yds and land it directly at a teammate's feet, I can appreciate the heck out of it, but understand that many don't realize how hard that was to do.
  11. The issue I have with this argument, which I hear from the most conservative bunch quite often, is not one of them doesn't have some sort of lifestyle or sin that they're doing regularly. I don't know you at all, so I don't know what yours is, but I'm positive there's a sin that you do regularly without any real effort to stop. I've never really understood why homosexuality became the sin that the religious right put up on a pedestal as the "worst" sin. I guess because it's nasty to think about? as for the second argument: I already stated I don't want my kids being exposed to stuff like that on Nickolodeon. But literally every sin is glorified on tv and movies these days, but just like in the previous paragraph, there's only one sin that needs to "quit being shoved down our throats." It's just a hypocrisy of the church I've never really been able to understand, even with my 20 or so college hours of Christian studies and 4-year degree from a Baptist college.
  12. There's a reason it's the most popular sport (by a landslide) in the world, and that it's called "the beautiful game". But to appreciate it you have to understand it, and there's a lot of nuance to it. It definitely does not fit into the immediate gratification category that pretty much all American sports provide. I've played soccer for the better part of 35 years. I can watch a 0-0 game and find plenty to enjoy, but I certainly understand that the casual observer would not find that same enjoyment.
  13. The US women's soccer team and now democratic congress is continuing to keep up the charade that the women aren't being fairly treated, despite the fact that the women are receiving much more compensation than the men, which was verified when their lawsuit was struck down a few months ago. I'm over it.
  14. Last night they followed it up with a 4-0 drubbing of Costa Rica, a team that has traditionally played us tough. This team is definitely trending in the right direction.
  15. I see the poor folk collecting 10K+ tax returns after collecting govt subsidies and paying little to no income tax all year. I get ultra mad about that.
  16. I understand this, but I would prefer the question not to arise from watching a children's television channel.
  17. I don't have an issue with people being who they want to be, but I don't necessarily want to have to have a conversation with my 5 and 8 year olds about transgender and drag queens.
  18. so what's the haps? Now that Saban signed an extension with Alabama are they back at square one?
  19. The enterprise needs to give out awards in small and big school divisions, but they won't, it's too much work. To only have ten spots for kids from however many local schools (50? 100? Not sure what their coverage area is), they're clearly trying to avoid giving out 3-4 awards to one school. they easily could've done that with United this year, and Silsbee in years past. The Super Gold teams have never been done well. In high school I was a 4-year first team all-district soccer player, was offensive MVP of the district twice, and set season and career school records in goals and points that haven't been broken 17 years later, and I never even made second team. One year two players from my district who scored less goals and had less assists than me both made the team ahead of me in the same position. It's a cool honor for those who receive it, but those that are left out shouldn't put any stock in it.
  20. I've noticed that a decent number of Latinos vote Republican, especially the ones that came here to build a better life and are working hard and paying taxes.
