  1. played a real schedule? they haven't had a great season, but they put up 56 on PNG and lost late in a shootout. And they still have a whole lot of the team that went 12-1 and lost by a fg to the Indians last year in the playoffs. Nederland has improved, but LC has faced some serious squads this season. and on the flip side of that, the closest thing to a legit opponent for nederland has been WOS and Silsbee, both two divisions lower and neither as good as they were in the past (WOS is back on the rise, and Silsbee is in a rare down year). On a positive note, this next month is going to give us all a really good look into just how much the bulldogs have improved this year. 1 win in 4 will be a success with what's coming up. I would love to see Nederland find a way to finish these last four 2-2, I just struggle to see it happening.
  2. Nah, gonna disagree with you on this one. It removes almost all of the distractions that you have at a regular high school. These kids who are driven to succeed and want to focus solely on academics are allowed an atmosphere that is almost college-like. They don't have to deal with the troublemakers, the kids that don't even want to be at school, fights, noise, overcrowding, etc. etc. If you implement it at two campuses, you have to hire faculty and staff at TWO locations to run it, and it wouldn't be nearly as effective. It also, to a small degree, alleviates overcrowding in the other high schools. BISD has 29 campuses, and this campus is without a doubt one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest to run. I worked in that district for 15 years, and they find a LOT of ways to waste resources and money, but this campus has been a big success. EDIT: apologies, i'll get back on topic. Although to be fair, this whole thread has been ALLL over the place.
  3. been a long time since this statement wasn't accurate, tbh.
  4. i'll go 34-20. Jasper is a little hard to gauge this year. I wouldn't be shocked if we saw another HF blowout like against silsbee, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's more like your score prediction. The Dawgs definitely showed something last week against WOS.
  5. i expect them to score more than 24, but i doubt it's a shutout
  6. the main thing is that these kids are getting a ton of their college hours taken care of while still in high school. Graduating with an associates if i'm not mistaken. It's not a waste of time or money when it's free and you have it by the time you're 18. it gives those kids a lot of options regardless of which direction they choose to go.
  7. I prefer grass, but I understand why turf works better for most schools. I was a kicker for the football team, but soccer was where I excelled. I'm so glad I didn't have to play 90% of my soccer games on turf like these kids today. In football it makes the game quicker and keeps the field cleaner, but in soccer it speeds things up unnaturally and the bounces are horrible.
  8. Nederland has improved this year, but I think they finish the year on a 4-game losing streak, starting with this one.
  9. After HJ only lost to BC by 2, they might be a lot more competitive than I gave them credit for. they're 3-3 and 1-2 in district. If Lumberton and Vidor keep playing like they have there's no reason that the Hawks can't beat either of these teams.
  10. I hope this is satire, but I fear it's not. Surely you don't think the school in the district devoted solely to getting kids to college is a waste of resources because they don't have a football team...

  12. hahahahaha. quintessential Trump on this one...
  13. Couple of good weeks at least has my total halfway respectable
  14. Not a chance. This was a dominant win. The defense shut y’all down all game. The offense gouged y’all in the first half. They didn’t get the ball but 3 times in the 2nd half and the last two they just tried to burn clock instead of airing it out like they did in the first half. Plus Silsbee’s last touchdown drive came against the backups after they didn’t move the ball all game. You’re right about getting the penalties fixed, though.
  15. True, but they only had one possession in the 2nd half until about mid 4th because their defense kept scoring and giving the ball back to Silsbee’s offense
  16. A couple of y’all really need to remember that y’all are talking about high school kids, not pro quarterbacks
  17. A week after getting upset by Henderson, Kilgore bounced back in a big way tonight. Kilgore 42 Chapel Hill 7
