  1. It would be hard to “be a place where kids want to be”, especially when it comes to athletics, if the best players are able to pimp themselves out to the highest bidders. And make no mistake, that’s exactly what would start happening.
  2. HJ appears to be greatly improved over the last couple of years. I think this will be a decent game. Still think EC takes it in the end.
  3. That’s why I phrased it as a question. I know he ran well, was just curious if the passing stats were correct. That said, the stats are pretty complete looking on there for the game.
  4. Maxpreps has him at 4 of 9 for 46 yds in the first game?
  5. I was planning on going to this one but due to an exceptional weather forecast we moved our deer lease work weekend up a week to take advantage.
  6. Last year this game was a wild one at Hitchcock. Hitchcock jumped out to a big lead early, HF fought all the way back, and then Hitchcock put it away late with a couple of defensive touchdowns in the last few minutes. The two teams combine for 16 touchdowns. Both teams have new quarterbacks, and both teams looked good in their week 1 matchups. HF graduated some key players, and Hitchcock graduated a LOT of key players, including Aggie commit Kelshaun Johnson. From an article I found Hitchcock graduated 18 players from last year’s team who earned 1st or 2nd team all district. I’m curious to see how this one turns out! Should be a good test for the horns. Who ya got?
  7. I love Sark, and he’s obviously turned Texas around, but his play calling since he’s been there leaves me scratching my head at times
  8. It’s not a pickem if I’m not starting off having to come from behind 🤦🏻‍♂️
  9. If the box score is correct, Broussard was 15/21 for 162 yds and 2 scores through the air, and had 12 carries for another 168. That’s a heck of a debut.
  10. Feel pretty comfortable saying that was PI in the end zone since both my longhorn-hating college buddies said it first in our group message
  11. I’m a realist. Two career starts and the weight of the college football world on his shoulders, it’s not surprising that he’s struggled. All I did was state his stats from last year. Go find the posts where I say that he’s gonna win the heisman or lead them to a national championship, or where I said it’s not fair he has to play against a good team.
  12. He completely 68% of his passes for 9 TD and 2 INTs last year in the playing time he got. I think he’ll be fine, but this is a heck of an atmosphere to come into with all of the pressure and expectations.
  13. Had a feeling arch might struggle today
  14. I just quoted and asked the same thing before I scrolled down and saw this comment
  15. Better than ‘83 daingerfield? Not trying to debate, I know nothing about the Yates team you speak of. edit: never mind, saw someone else say the same and your answer further in the thread
  16. I've heard SA is going to be improved this year... not sure if Beckville is also down or what. Beckville beat them by four scores last year.
  17. Hardin up 7-0 less than a minute in
  18. How’d I get sucked into all this? 😀😀
  19. Orangefield should be improved from what was a solid team last year, and Woodville has some work to do to get back to the level they finished last season. It won't surprise me if it's a one score game one way or another. I'll take woodville in a close one.
