  1. Who’s ranting? I know you don’t trust the vaccine. Good for you. I’m just making a point.
  2. that's the whole point, though. they're occurring at a lower rate among the vaccinated than they do with birth control users. Are you anti-birth control now? We're talking about an average of 1 in 1,100,000 recently vaccinated people developing these clots (all 6 cases being women, and likely also birth control users), 1 in 6,800,000 dying from it. 2 out of 100 who contract covid die from it, and you think all of the measures to combat covid are stupid. go figure.
  3. 6 people out of 6.8 million got blood clots. Women taking oral birth control develop these rare blood clots at a much higher rate. These clots on average occur in 3 to 5 people per million per year. I'm not really sure what the concern is here.
  4. I'm hoping their need to appear to "handle it better than the republicans" will keep them working on eliminating it. But I'd say there's a decent chance you're right.
  5. Not sure. The last I saw the original folks in the original study were still not getting sick. Even if it only lasts 6 months that will go a long way towards ending the pandemic.
  6. I'm not a fan of big govt, but they've always controlled our lives to some degree. i definitely do not like the trend of what they're controlling or trying to control these days.
  7. I think homemade masks help some, but obviously not like an N95 would. I was never uncomfortable wearing a cloth mask into a gas station for two minutes, but if I was a nurse on a Covid ward I'd be demanding N95's as well. I think a rope around your waist is better than nothing, but a seatbelt is a lot more effective. I totally agree with you about people wearing them incorrectly. I feel like things will get back to normal at some point. With the vaccines showing an efficacy of 96%, and basically a rate of 0 for hospitalizations and death, having 60%-70% of the country get vaccinated will make a huge difference. Factor in the folks who get covid and develop natural immunity, and those that get it and die, and there are going to be less and less possible hosts. We're already seeing an incredible decrease in cases in most places.
  8. Fauci is a quack, but I don't think there are only two reasons that he could be wearing a mask. I think the most obvious reason is that he's the chief medical advisor to the president, and they're pushing for people to wear masks still. So if they're encouraging people to wear masks, it wouldn't make sense for Fauci to be running around without one, vaccinated or not. when he comes on TV telling people to wear a mask, he's going to have one on.
  9. yeah, it works, but like Big Girl said, there's still a slim chance you can get infected. In another three days I'll be considered fully vaccinated. At that point I don't plan on wearing a mask unless it's required (I'll still have to for work, for instance). I've already been foregoing the mask some since a couple of days after I got my second dose of the vaccine.
  10. looking at their stats from last year, I'd say lamar came out far ahead over McNeese on this one as well. McNeese and Lamar had similar records, similar schedules, etc., so it's not unfair to compare stats. Kasen outperformed Bush by a wide margin in basically every statistical category. As good as Bush is, I think he's reached a level of play where his size is a factor. He didn't have a terrible season for McNeese, but last season he was more of a role player instead of The Man like he'd been in high school.
  11. I don't really mind background checks. For safety reasons, it's important to make sure people are who they say they are when guns are purchased. Kinda the same way it's important to make sure people are who they say they are when they're voting.
  12. Tough matchup for the falcons. Boerne definitely has to be the favorite to win it all. They won their regional final game 7-0 over Hidalgo.
  13. Are you at the game? On the feed that looked like it could be a legit pk that got called back
  14. I'm not sure if it's because it's govt police, or because he shot someone from a group that was so radical they literally broke down doors to the govt. I think there's a legitimate argument that he's in danger if his identity is released. I honestly do not don't know if any agency involved has any legal obligation to identify the officer since he's been cleared. @tvc184 probably has a much better understanding of this.
  15. I just watched clear videos from two different angles. the videos do show the tactical officers coming up the stairs behind her. They didn't get there in time to keep her from breaching, though. Maybe if they had they could've kept her from trying to go through. But at the time she tried to breach there were still politicians in the hall she was trying to enter. It was a little different later when a bunch of idiots were running around an empty building stealing podiums and stuff. I admire the white house police's restraint throughout the whole ordeal. They could've legally and justifiably shot a LOT of people throughout the invasion, insurrection, whatever you want to call it.
  16. questionable shooting? you're joking, right?
  17. tough to say. not really anything to compare it to.
  18. grand jury cleared him so his identity wasn't released for his own safety.
  19. Huffman Hargrave (15-7-6) plays district rival Splendora (21-7-2)tonight at 6 PM, at Randall Reed Stadium in New Caney, for a chance to advance to the state semifinals. Splendora advanced this far with wins over Bridge City (7-0), Houston Furr (3-2), Columbia (4-1), and Sealy (3-2). Huffman defeated Silsbee (4-3), Stafford (2-1), East Chambers (1-0), and Brookshire Royal (2-1). These two teams met twice in the regular season, with each team winning at home (2-1 @ Huffman, 2-0 @ Splendora.) The winner of this game will face the winner of Boerne and Hidalgo in the state semifinals.
  20. Fortunately these are token moves that will have no real effect on any of us. That said, he's definitely pushing congress to take actions that will have a massive effect on legal gun owners.
  21. Just like the last debate, which is why I'm done debating. You ignore being proven wrong, you ignore having your sources proven wrong, you ignore having accurate sources provided. you then deflect by posting one politician's biased observations without addressing the fact that you've been completely proven wrong by real sources (including your own), and then just scream "What did the doctor in my youtube video say?" over and over again, and act like you're somehow being done wrong by not getting an answer to the question. I provided you with all of the numbers you asked for at the beginning of this thread. you didn't like them. your assertion that the death rate in the US has not increased has been entirely disproven. a biased youtube video is not an accurate rebuttal. i'm done
  22. all i can do is provide sources and accurate numbers. I can't make anyone quit being intentionally ignorant to those numbers and sources because acknowledging those numbers would mean they're wrong.
  23. No doubt things have been reported that aren't accurate. But there's a difference between political spin from the left-controlled media and actual concrete numbers from multiple sources. there's also a difference between questioning sources and motives versus ignoring concrete facts because they don't jive with what you want to believe, which is what some folks on here like to do.
