Silsbee vs Huffman Hargrave Region 3 Championship
bullets13 replied to BADSANTA's topic in High School Boys Basketball
When i was given an explanation in this thread (the first time i've ever heard it), i said if that was the case then he earned his suspension. If that's the case it sounds like HJ's coach did the right thing. As for the rest, it can be tough for folks to get past certain behaviors of leadership to be unbiased towards the kids. If HH was playing a houston team I'd pull for y'all, but given another setx option, GO SILSBEE! I'm a big fan of your boy's soccer team, though. Great leadership there. Good dude, much respect. I apologize for bringing all this up, and am done talking about it. Back to the game at hand. Go Silsbee! -
KATY PAETOW VS BEAUMONT UNITED PREDICTIONS
bullets13 replied to Topdawg25's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Paetow has been pretty good in the playoffs, but their record on the season is a bit inflated. A lot of close wins this year against average teams. Still, they're on a 23-game win streak. They don't suck. United has to play a decent game to win this one. I expect them to. BU by 13, 72-59. -

Silsbee vs Huffman Hargrave Region 3 Championship

video doesn't show what happened between the two. it clearly shows the HH students piling into it. several people who were there commented in the original thread, and this is the first time I've heard this explanation. If that's what happened, then so be it, give him the suspension. anyway, back to silsbee and huffman. I hope Silsbee gives them the boot. -

Yeah? the only problem with your account is that the video is still available online, and about 30-40 kids from HH's student section run the length of the court and get in the middle of the incident. -
Silsbee vs Huffman Hargrave Region 3 Championship

two players had the ball tied up as the buzzer sounded, and it got a little out of hand, at which time a good portion of the Huffman student section ran full court and into the melee. It was all broken up pretty quickly. But one HJ player (the best HJ player) ended up suspended by his coach, which no doubt cost them their 1st round playoff game (not that they should've lost anyway) -

I think that can all be thrown out the window anyway. Silsbee played several games at the beginning of the year without key players, then had the covid stuff. Since the playoffs have started they look like a totally different team. I'm going to take them over huffman by 10. I'm hoping so anyway, because all of the stupidity (instigated by huffman fans) at the end of the HJ/HH seeding game is the only reason that HJ lost their first round playoff game. There's a decent chance had that not happened HJ would at least have had some chance in still being around, as easily as this side of the bracket has played out. -
If you've been vaccinated (both doses), you should be fine. Indications are that vaccinations greatly reduce the amount of serious illnesses caused by Covid (around 96% success rate), but it's possible that you could still contract it and become contagious, even with no or very mild symptoms. The research may later show that this is not the case, but I believe they're encouraging continued mask wearing out of an abundance of caution until they've got more data on the infection rates after vaccination. You could conceivably still become infected and spread the illness to someone else. I'm of the opinion that once everyone who wants to be vaccinated has had the opportunity to get one, go back to normal and anyone who chooses to pass on inoculation and gets extremely sick or dies has nobody to blame but themselves. I actually know (knew) a guy who fit into this category. I'm fairly confident he would do things differently were he given a second chance, but instead he's been dead a couple of weeks now. I have a feeling that in a few months there will be a second wave of people getting vaccinated as those who chose not to get it when first offered start to realize that they're the only ones still getting sick and dying.

Katy Paetow 70 Baytown Goose Creek Memorial 42/FINAL
bullets13 replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Paetow is on a 23-game win streak. Looking at their schedule, they had a lot of underwhelming close wins against mediocre teams, but they’ve been pretty impressive the last couple of rounds of the playoffs
